Family-leaning bar in the Heights. This place and the surrounding area gets packed on weekends parking impossible. Pizza truck in front looked great and sells by the slice. Expect tons of kids, but also expect solid beer offerings. IPAs were good especially the hazy. Prices are brewery prices. Few TVs and togo cans available for some. This is a fine brewery for hanging out, but didn't blow me awayy by any means in terms of ambiance or beer selection and quality. read more

Quaint little brewery that just popped up out of nowhere. Went in there a few months ago, just on a whim, and it was a pleasant surprise! The bartender was very helpful in finding a beer I'd like, the prices were great, and it wasn't too busy! I'm sure the word's gotten out and they're busy now, but for a Saturday it was refreshing not to bump elbows with a single person. Awesome small craft brewery that has a definite neighborhood vibe. Great selection at reasonable prices and there's something for every beer drinker(from New England IPAs to a lager) along with root beer, topo chico, Mexican coke and a cider. The staff are all very friendly and the venue has lots of seating and space for private functions. Definitely recommend spending a couple hours here and enjoying all they have to offer, there's usually a food truck every night, otherwise you can bring your own food or order delivery. I was completely disappointed by the craft beer at this brewery. First of all, they don't even have Pale Ales, which was surprising to me. I ended up getting a beer that was somewhat good, but I only took a few sips. My friend finished his beer and mine. For those avid beer fans, skip this place and go to Walking Stick across the street. read more

They have a really nice space, both inside and out. The atmosphere is great and they have some TVs for sporting events. Went to their trivia night one night which was ok. Was difficult to hear. They either need to work on the acoustics or maybe put the questions on the TV screens. Place was packed, but it wasn't difficult to get a drink. I didn't have food, but some of my friends did from the food truck outside and it was subpar. Not sure if the same one is there every night. I also don't really like their beers that much. I love Great Heights Brewing! Everyone who works there is super friendly, and they have a fairly wide selection of beers/ciders at decent prices. I love Austin Eastciders, so I'm always happy here. They have plenty of games to play at your table, and there's always a food truck parked outside. Walked in and I knew I was in a place that was for me. The Hazy Double IPA was incredible, and the House IPA was the perfect West Cost IPA. The bartenders was so knowledgeable about the beer and very friendly to a solo guy from New York. It was a pleasure. My only regret was not buying some beer to go and the fact that they did not stay open till 11pm. May return at the end of my trip for trivia night on Wednesday. read more

I'll give them the update they deserve now. While I don't think everything they do hits with me (though to be honest I am not sure any brewery hits everything they make), they are very much at the level of Bailson's, which I gave a 4 stars to as well. They continue with different IPA's, but find them well made and balanced for the most part. A new excellent Porter, that is no nonsense and just really well made. More breweries need to make them like this with out coffee or other additive/adjunct flavors. I have always loved the space and the people that work here. They have even added a nice outdoor area. A good brewery, and again, a good spot to start or end a pub crawl in the area. read more

As soon as I heard about another brewery opening, I bookmarked it and made it my mission to check it out as soon as possible! We checked it out Thursday night. I love all of the minimalist decor and simple murals. My husband was elated to see the Wilco concert poster as soon as we walked in. Since they are so new, they only had two beers on tap--the Great Heights Amber and Great Heights New England IPA. I really enjoyed the IPA! The bartender was really personable, and we enjoyed talking to him. Another thing that we liked is that they do not operate on the glass/token system. We also liked that they had free popcorn freshly popped in a free standing machine. We had a great time playing a board game and trying the new beers! Their space is only indoors, so we made the assumption that this is not a dog-friendly establishment. We can't wait to go back and checkout more of their beers once they're more established. read more

This place Is super chill and laid back. There is a good sized patio in the back as well as indoor seating. The staff I encountered was beyond friendly and accommodating. Considering it was closing time however they allowed us to finish our beers and watching the end of the astros game since it was a nail bitter. We won of course. Which def makes the night better. They did close at 10 pm but keep in mind it was a week day when I went. The beer I had was smooth I go for light fruity notes. They had plenty of out door space/ seating and inside benches. Cute patio lighting with some good tunes in the background. As with most bars I've been to in the heights and Midtown area people are just generally friendly and easy to get along with. Or maybe I'm just a friendly person. Idk. I would definitely be back and this time I am getting my t-shirt. I really like the logo of this place. Oh and the real reason I even went to this place was because of RDQBBQ its a small little trailer who stopped there from 5-10 the BBQ is Ahhmazing!! I encountered them when I was at Springstreet on Houston Ave. If they are there and you are there on a Thursday I recommend giving them a try. Also... Great place to hang out for a few hours. Friendly, knowledgeable staff that will help you find the beer that's right for you. Everyone loves the Fruity Pellets but personally the Denali IPA is my favorite. They recently added a porter to the menu and it's perfect for the colder weather. I went there the other weekend to try a "cool" new neighborhood brewery, I can not express how poor the service is here. I asked the bar tender for a recommendation based on the beer I liked, he was rude and belittled me for asking. He made me feel like I shouldn't even be there if I don't know anything about beer. This is a small neighborhood trying to build up the area. He was an a-hole to me to say it nicely. I will never go back, and if you want to chat about beer, their bar tender will deliberately make you feel bad. I was so taken aback I didn't even know what to do. I do not recommend. Sad because we were excited to be there. Management should do some professionalism training. read more

I got to attend a pre-opening event this past weekend. The space is really well done and the murals outside and inside are awesome. As they're just opening, the beer selection is limited but what they do have on tap is very good. I especially liked the New England IPA and I'm excited for their 2nd IPA offering (West Coast style) which should be tapped soon. Great location and being one of the only taprooms with A/C in Houston proper are both huge pluses. Looking forward to full opening in the coming days. read more
