Ace employee Kassidey in the paint department is awesome! She was extremely helpful with my issue and then very cooperative when I changed my mind about my purchase. When I go into Ace, I go there because of the service I get there is always someone there to help when needed it unlike when you go to some of the bigger stores you have to search for someone to get some help. So that is always a plus when I go to this ace, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My only small complaint would be the pricing but , we have to look at our times and pricing is high everywhere. read more

To whom it may concern, I want to start out by saying that I absolutely love Ace Hardware; however, my experience at the Ace Hardware in Berkley, Michigan (stores closest crossroads are Greenfield and 12 Mile). Although all the employees were genuinely nice and all following the appropriate COVID protocols set up in Michigan, one employee (taller gentlemen with longish brown/black hair) was NOT wearing a mast, NOT maintaining a 6-foot social distancing and talking to customers, me included, with no prompting other than to -what seemed like- to get close and chat to them. I have been to the Ace Hardware in Oak Park (on 9 Mile) and have had absolutely no issues. My main issue is that you have signs posted everywhere about masks and spots on the floor to maintain the social distancing- which in my experience- employees and customers are generally following. Maybe a discussion with the Berkley, Michigan store regarding safety protocols would be an effective solution to this issue. During these unprecedented time, stores -Ace Hardware included- should be following all of the COVID safety guidelines to give a sense of security to their customers and keep them coming back. Will never go back here again! My husband and I try to support local business/hardware stores and not always run to the mega store (Lowe's or Home Depot), however this will be my final visit here. My husband tried to return a defective Ace brand product, with a receipt, and not only did the manager ask " why did we wait so long to return the item" ( which by the way was in the return policy period of 30 days), he told us regardless of having the receipt and packaging we would have to find the instruction piece of paper or else he would not issue a refund. Well after leaving we called their corporate office, which was very helpful, they contacted the store, and our refund was issued. We could tell that they were reluctant to give us they refund, but they won't ever have to worry about us buying or returning anything ever again. read more

By far the worst customer service from an Ace I've ever experienced. Was here a week ago and the heavy set long haired hair cashier could've cared less about my questions. Today, pulled up at 8:02 and 2 guys were walking out and I started getting out of my car only to see an employee act like he didn't see me and hustle to lock the door and walk away. Went to the door and 3 employees were talking and they saw me but acted like I wasn't there. Ace hardware stores I thought were neighborhood friendly..... guess I will have to find another. Good store, I was able to easily find everything that I was looking for with no problems. I was not lost like I be when I go to one of the big box stores like Home Depot or Lowes. The prices here are a little bit higher than the others but its worth it to me. read more

Given the choice, I prefer the local hometown hardware store, but this Ace is doing a great job. The store has filled up with stock since their sparse opening, the staff is now friendlier, more helpful and more knowledgable. The selection is limited since they're not in a warehouse, but this has turned into a solid neighborhood hardware store. read more

The "store" manager was not friendly. Gave me the run around about warranty on a tool. She pretty much told me tough luck and asked if I wanted to buy another product. jim merritt manager ! how did he get that title? from a crackerjack box!! because , he has a terrible attitude & customer service skills needs drastic improvement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!my experience from the jump was terrible, so let me begin: i placed, my order online, so i called, when i arrived, whoever answered, her attitude was terrible as well, is that a requirement to work there? i, questioned her about the protocol in regards to the online order, "she , asks " where are you"? i stated, by the hub, she had no sense of assistance, ok, " she says someone will be there, and just slabs the phone down ", wow, but , okkk. so, a worker comes, i give her my order #, and she states there, system is down, and they are having troubles with their system, she then asks, if i wanna see a manager, so she gets jim merritt , his body language terrible, he, doesn't even greet me !! rude, he just goes into how the system has been down, well i begin to say i think that's unprofessional, he cuts me off, yeah yeah i know, but it's nothing i can do! he, then asks me to send a email to the store in regards to my order, well i'm telling him, i didn't expect to have to all of this! considering, the store system is down, so i give him phone, so he can do it, and while he has my i phone 11, he attempts to send the email, and i begin to elaborate on how i feel about this experience, his rude demeanor cuts me off, " i said, sorry its nothing i can do"!! the , nerve! so, i tell him to stop cutting me off, he slams my phone on the counter and walks away!! wtf! so, im upset now, i explain to him, i handed you my phone, i expected you to hand it back, but no he acts like a little.. he gives some lame ass apology!! i called customer service immediately, had to drive to the location on 9 mile ! which i should have went to in the first place! they are always pleasant and professional! your store might wanna take some notes! cause, home depot & lowes, professional, trying to help a local ace on greenfield! never ever again!!! read more

Since they changed from A CO I've not enjoyed this place. The first time in they couldn't locate my ace rewards info. It worked at other ace locations. Management walked away, I left my ace bucket of stuff there. When adds come out they don't have products. (The truck didn't deliver yet) Now, for the third time I've called, told a product was there to find out it's not. I have a $5 rewards card I will throw away.
