Very unprofessional appointment system. Got their call this morning and I drove 40 minutes for a confirmed appointment, no one shows up. Called them many times and no one picks up the phone. Called back after an hour and told me it's wrong date, are you kidding me??? Their reception lacks basic organization and communication skills. They don't answer calls, and responses are slow. They wasted my holiday time and showed no respect for customers' schedules. This is not a reliable business. Don't even bother!!! read more

The Horizon team was excellent! Leonel and Francisco did a thorough termite treatment throughout our house including the attic, the crawl space beneath our house, and the entire surround of the outside of our house and garage as well as our tiled deck. They were punctual, worked steadily for five hours, and cleaned up everything when they completed the job. They answered all our questions and gave us a tour of the job when finished. In reading reviews as we were choosing a company to go with, I found myself wanting to better understand the process, hence a longer review: STORY It can be a scary thing when you think you see evidence of termites in your home! Having multiple companies come out and inspect the home for termites brought great peace of mind and reduced uncertainty for us. We thought we saw evidence of termite frass in our cabinet, but Jason came out and reassured us that it was not termites, but was some water damage instead. He continued to do a full inspection and saw evidence of subterranean termites in our crawl space. We had another company come out and do an inspection, and they corroborated what Horizon found. EXPERIENCE WITH HORIZON Jason and the entire crew at Horizon were great! Jason was very thorough in his inspection, Negar in the front office was very prompt, responsive and helpful in her communications, and the crew that came to do the treatment (I think it was Adam and Leo?) was very informative, and seemed to do their work well. We have some more peace of mind now, but ultimately can't comment on the outcomes of their work yet. Will check back once we know more. read more

Like trying to find a good dentist or mechanic, it did take me a while to decide who to call. This guys are professionals. In the initial inspection I saw how thorough the approach was. I was also given a little "on-the-go intro on termite infestation" that was quite educational. The inspector suggested more than one option to go about it. No charge for the inspection and no pressure sales tactics. On the day of the application the two gentlemen that came were very meticulous. How meticulous? Upon almost ending the service, one tech was showing me the areas covered, when he suddenly found a single tiny termite "dropping" (yes!) on the surface of one of the outer walls. He described it as an exit point. Upon removing it myself, a tiny hole was revealed. He treated the spot. With a very appealing service warranty I am definitely recommending this company to everyone I know. read more

He only found an old tree stump in the yard with some. He recommended treating the soil around the house perimeter as preventative measure. To add an extra layer of protection, the attic would also be sprayed. Though we don't currently have termite problem, we feel it's the right thing to do to protect our most valuable asset. This was my first experience with termites so I was stressed. Don't use them. First man to come was knowledgable seemed very professional, clip broad in hand, dressed in a Horizon uniform, driving a Horizon car. He did a thorough job, wrote up an estimate, it was expensive but I felt I needed to get the work done quickly- termite work and dry rot. I thought well at least he isn't doing what most of them want to do which is tent your whole house when you don't need to. I read and accept the contract, called for an appointment. The front office is very friendly. All down hill after that... they maybe sub-contracting out a lot of their work, just sending out the original person who comes to sell you on their company, and you never see him again. A salesman at the top of the payroll food chain. After 1/2 hour late I called his cell phone. No answer. After one hour I called the main office said he got delayed, but on his way. Doorbell rings and some stranger, not in uniform, no company car shows up says he is a short fill for the man who was suppose to come, and left him instructions to do the project. He was very sweet but Horizon left him high and dry, working of high ladders without backup, and missing many basic items he needed. Do not make the mistake I made, reading all the 5 star ratings. The pest control business is a disjointed unregulated mess. Maybe stick to Clark Pest Control or some other company that has been around for decades. Buyer beware. read more

I had a free estimate with Jason, and what impressed me most about his customer service was that he spent two hours looking at my house to come up with a tailored approach for my home. No other company I talked with has done this. His recommended approach for localized treatment with a 5-year warranty that covers the whole house was very enticing, particularly because I wouldn't have the hassle of moving out that comes with whole-house fumigation and the warranty is for the whole house, which means I could get another localized treatment if it pops up in another area. I almost went with Horizon, except that ultimately I decided to go with a whole-house fumigation to guarantee all the existing termites would be exterminated. With that approach, another company's pricing was significantly lower and that's why I went with them instead. But nothing beats Jason's thoroughness and his ability to explain the issues. That's why I want to make sure to recognize him for his customer service. He and Horizon are definitely at the top of my list if I need localized treatment one day. read more

Unfortunately, we did have a termite issue, but he talked to me in-depth about options we can take and gave us a quote. I double checked with a friend of mine who works with many termite companies in his line of work, and he said the quote was very reasonable. They came out a couple of weeks later and did a localized service and we can only hope they eliminated all the termites, otherwise, we'll have to update our review. So was my situation. Only he dropped the ball last minute canceling his scheduled appt. without calling/texting. I reached out to him after he was 1/2 late. Then someone new showed up at my front door who hadn't seen my house and was expected to get up to par on the spot. Horizon luckily has Daniel Nava working for them. He was a fast learner, self starter and a delightful person to work with! The office personnel is also nice, but the organization has some problems to work out.
