This restaurant was highly recommended as somewhere to get a great meal. It was lunchtime and I love eating Greek food. We are about a block away on the Penn Campus so we decided to check it out. The restaurant was about half full. Most people ordered their meal to go and rushed to get back to work. There is an extensive menu filled with different options. I decided to go for the plate option which comes with an entree and two appetizers. I ordered the chicken with tzatziki sauce along with pita on the side. For the two sides I chose lemon potatoes and mushrooms. The chicken was great after rolling it up in the pita and dipping it in the tzatziki sauce. The lemon was a little too strong in those potatoes. Next time I might choose french fries or rice instead. They give you a large amount of food for the price. I was unable to finish the entire meal and grabbed the rest to go for later. The staff was very helpful getting a to go box and cleaning up afterwards. I saw the Greek Lady on JL Jupiter's YouTube channel. I'm trying not to eat as much processed meat these days, so their chicken finger hoagie sounded like a great option. I ordered the chicken finger hoagie, along with a couple of desserts for delivery. My delivery came promply and the chicken finger hoagie did not disappoint. The worst thing I could say was that it was too large to eat in one meal, and doesn't retain it's flavor the next day the same way a traditional lunchmeat hoagie would. But it a delicious hoagie, full of chopped up pieces of perfectly fried chicken. I really wanted to devour the entire thing in one meal, but just couldn't do it. My desserts were a slice of carrot cake and red velvet cake. The red velvet cake was disappointing. I would not order that again. The carrot cake was outstanding. I'm not a big fan of the nuts, so the cake could have been perfect without buts. But even with the nuts it's one of the top carrot cakes I've ever tasted. The Greek Lady is an excellent place! We went here twice on our long weekend in Philly. The food is fresh and delicious, the portion sizes are generous, and all for a decent cost. We came to the Greek Lady for a snack after a day of socially distant walking around U Penn. We wanted ice cream from Ben and Jerry's but they were closed, and bae wanted something more "food" like than ice cream anyway. Service is always friendly, but wait times for the food can vary substantially from 5 minutes to nearly half an hour. By far, the best thing to get on the menu is the Chicken Platter -- it comes with a huge serving of chicken (plenty to last over 2 meals), along with pita, two sides (I usually get the Greek salad and curly fries), and a dipping sauce (I opt for the tzatziki), for just under $10. The chicken is cooked well, but it always comes completely unseasoned, so expect to eat it with your dipping sauce or a different condiment. The pita is served warm in tin foil, but rather soggy as if it's just been reheated. The Greek salad is always fresh and comes with a hefty dollop of feta.
