Incredible service and amazing food! My brother brought us here to celebrate his graduation and it was definitely a winner. Our server was very attentive and checked in often to see if we needed refills or anything during our meal. We really loved the salatim, which is included when you go. I was seriously impressed by the hummus too...so delicious! We also really enjoyed the shawarma-spiced cauliflower (very flavorful), their branzino with tomato and ginger (really fresh), and ribeye (so freaking juicy!). They also have soft serve included for dessert and we really enjoyed the vanilla soft serve. I also love that they have a vegan soft serve option for those who do not eat dairy.

We went to Laser Wolf for dinner over the weekend; we had reservations but were running late due to traffic; texted them and they were very nice to extend the reservation. Once we got there, we were seated immediately; the restaurant was pretty full at the time. They have kind of semi fixed menu with Hummus w/Fresh Pita and desert included; you just pick the entry from the grill. For the pita/hummus, you get a plate of fresh pita and a large varieties of small plates for dipping, all of them unique and delicious. For the grill items, we picked chicken, Whole Dorade and Shawarma-spiced Cauliflower. The chicken is grilled well and tasty; the fish is very fresh and the cauliflower well spiced. For desert, we all had Brown Sugar-Vanilla Soft Serve | Strawberry Apricot Sauce, Pistachios, and Rice Pearls; another great entry. Over all, we liked all the entries; the service is also very nice. There is a 20% service charge in lieu of tips and it's well deserved.

This restaurant is so classy and vibrant! I loved the dimly lit ambiance and the feel it brings. Our server was very thorough and explained the menu and answered all our questions. We got the Salatim (hummus with pita) and my god this hit the spot! Every single bowl had something phenomenal tasting in it. From the grill we also got the Chicken Shishlik and the Eggplant- both were amazing. I truly have no words for the food here. Finally for dessert I got Brown Sugar-vanilla soft serve and my friend got the Tehina soft serve. My favorite was the Brown Sugar-Vanilla because I'm not a huge chocolate person. I will definitely we going back here again!

Second time visiting this establishment and it did not disappoint. Came here to celebrate a graduation and everyone loved this meal. Amazing food, quality service and a decent bar round out this restaurant. The hummus, pita and salatim are amazing; so many unique and delicious flavors. Our waiter Josh guided us through the meal helping us select proteins and veggies for the main. Service was outstanding and the vibe was very chill and relaxed. It's a lot of food and its high quality ingredients expertly seasoned and served. Dessert is included and you will want to take your time to enjoy this amazing restaurant.

Overall all great experience. This place is pretty popular so I'd recommend making a reservation. Also street parking is tricky so give yourself enough time in case your riding around trying to wait for a parking spot to open up. There are a couple parking lots in the area but they are probably around $30ish and capacity fills up fast some nights. Just give yourself enough time to figure out parking if your driving. The ambiance is nice. Waiters are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The restaurant is moderate in size and the noise level is moderate as well. You can comfortably exchange table talk without having to raise your voice too loud. You basically pick one item from the grill per guest and the cost of that grill item covers the endless rounds of Saletim as well as dessert. Not a bad deal at all! The hummus is in my top 3 of the best on the planet. It's so creamy and has a delicious flavor profile. The Saletim is the first course and its a vibrant assortment of salads and spreads accompanied by warm pita bread. It's almost like a meal in one because you could easily make this your meal and be completely satisfied. I had never had Dorade until I tried it here and it was absolutely delicous. Dorade is a white, tender, and succulent fish with a mild, slightly sweet flavor. It is often compared to red snapper, pompano, or branzino but typically has a richer fat content. It's served headless and tailless and the skin is seared to be crispy. Really delish! It's served over a bed of Harrisa sweet potato mash topped with sweet shaved carrots. My other fave is the Lollipop Lamb Chops with Fennel Salad and Carmelized Apples. It's cooked medium rare unless you request a different cook on it. I especially appreciated this dish because of the flavor balance of the citrus/tangy fennel salad with the sweet apple spread and textured small bites of apple. Waaaay better than any chutney sauce served at most places in my opinion. The Hibiscus tea is good but was a tad bit on the tart side. But no worries..some folks like tart and that's fine..but if you want to sweet'n it up just a tad ask for a small shot of simple syrup. Our waiter recommended it and it was the perfect addition to giving it just a hint more of sweetness to balance out the tart. I enjoyed the brown sugar-vanilla soft served ice cream. It tasted good but also healthy with the spiced apple granola crunch. Really great experience and I can't wait to return.

Tips: Order the tuna tartare you will not be disappointed. Tricks: Anything you order can be shared between 2-3 people. Keep that in mind. Things to remember: You'll probably be here for at least 2 hours.. pace yourself! The food is absolutely delicious and I wish I had a Salatim plate every day at home. Super cozy in here so order a drink, bring friends, and enjoy! Can't wait to come back

It certainly was a fun experience! Did it live up to all the hype..? Not for me, but let me tell you why it deserves a spot in your dining repertoire. The style of food is amazing! I simply don't get enough Israeli-inspired cuisine. The intensity of flavor & spices coupled with a unique grilling tradition makes each bite memorable. The hummus is the most fantastic, creamy, concoction you'll have outside the Middle East. Yes, there are other fantastic versions in our cities, but Solomonov has presented a truly perfect one. The family-style, all you can eat, wheel of Salatim will keep you engaged. There's something for everyone's taste, but I only found 2 or 3 things worth going back for. Enough to keep me happy, but not blow my mind. It was fun to mix & match different combinations of accoutrements w/ the meats which included swordfish, skirt steak, & merguez (complimentary)- which made me happy as I was having buyer's remorse for not picking more exotic selections. Save room for dessert; the soft serve is a special finish to the flavors. Can't say I get the kitschy decor. 1970's wood paneling, vinyl tablecloths, & Hawaiian shirts are hilarious for the younger generations, but reminded me too much of my grandparent's basement bar. Staff was accommodating; nice that after 2 years waiting for the reservation we weren't rushed through the experience.

10/10 experience! I went for my birthday and had a chef experience. Where do I begin, I was greeted nicely, pulled my chair out, and the lady gathered my belongings to hang up. The server, I could tell, truly loved his job. He was personable, knew everything there is to know about the menu. Gave suggestions and actually had a conversation w/ us w/in reason. He made it seem like we were the only ones he was serving that night. We even received an "on the house" a glass a wine to pair with our meal. I felt the birthday energy and love. The folks next to me even were chatting us up. The food is delicious! Taken right from the grill to our table. Chicken appetizer is fireeeeee! The chicken shishik and Romanian beef kebab hit the spot. I was thinking the portion size could be some what bigger but I was surprisingly full after I was done the dessert. Also the brown sugar vanilla taste better (Personal preference) than the tehina soft serve. Presentation and politeness was met. Overall great experience.

WOW! This place was so good! If you like legit middle eastern or Israeli food, this is a must try. The place is also so beautiful inside and the staff was very friendly. We were a group of four, so we decided to do a more family style approach, ordering the steak and chicken shishlik, the salmon, and the mushroom shishlik. All entrees come with the salatim, which includes some of the best pita I've had outside of Israel. It also has amazing dips and toppings, our favorites were the hummus, the cabbage, the beets, and the kale babaganoush. They are also refillable, which was amazing. All of our entrees were fantastic, the mushrooms were seriously so good and whatever they were on top of was delicious. Dessert is also included, and we all got the ice cream, which was very tasty. I wish so much a place like this existed where I live. Will highly recommend to anyone!

Party of 5 birthdays celebration. Such a cute ending with a candle in the soft serves. This was an amazing feast and I definitely gained some pounds that I haven't lost yet. the Salatim's were excellent and definitely a few favorites all around. Even happily separated out the nut dishes so our one nut allergy dude could eat without worry and we could still have all the dishes we dreamed of eating. Really enjoyed everything but definitely my favorite of the night was my Merguez sausage !!

Andrew Henshaw is the rockstar behind the helm at Laser Wolf and his crew are rocking here in Philly. They work in harmony and the dishes sing. Being a huge foodie, I haven't had a meal like this in a very long time. And what a feast it was. I was most excited for the Salatim (side dishes and dips). I could not get enough of the hummus in the middle, so creamy and delish with the soft warm pita breads. You can ask for refills for any of the Salatim dishes as well. This comes with an order of an entree which is good enough for one person portion-wise so I suggest you order one per person. For the mains we got the skirt steak, whole Dorade (fish) and eggplant. My son is a steak lover through and through so I couldn't believe my ears when he said he loved the eggplant more than the skirt steak. The eggplant came with these chunks of fried pickled tomatoes, I thought they were potatoes. Such a delicious surprise. They are laser-focused on every little detail in each of the dishes they serve. Side dish - I am a huge French fry kind of gal. My son asked why I didn't get the chicken wings instead and I said because they are famous for their fries here. Well, my son could not stop eating them. The tehina ketchup leveled up their golden fries. It had that perfect crisp. Addicting!! The highlight of the night had to be when one of the staff members presented us with the chicken wings..."we are gifting you with this dish". Such a wonderful gesture! Thank you!! We all loved it! The sauce was insane. We ended our meal with a choice of two flavored custards to choose from, apple a la mode and a pistachio one. Huge shoutout to our awesome waiter, Brendan D. He was bussin a handful of tables but still managed to go above and beyond. First time having Israeli food and it won't be the last. This place is a gem. Allow 2 hours to dine. Reservations are a must. Fun Fact: Laser Wolf is named after the butcher (Lazar Wolf) in "Fiddler On The Roof."

We ordered a whole branzino shared for two, Romanian beef kebab, salatim with fresh hummus, French fries with tehina ketchup, and brown sugar vanilla soft serve + cantaloupe sorbet. The presentation of the salatim was phenomenal! The menu was a bit misleading because we thought the salatim was included with the dessert as part of the "from the grill" option. I just wish it was clearly stated in the menu. I was truly blown away by the ice cream hahaha. The entrees were a bit pricey than I expected. If you go with a larger group, it's easier to split. Overall, I would come again and it was a good experience!

Best cuisine and dining experience of this year - my best friend and I enjoyed a truly remarkable dinner at Laser Wolf, seated at the chefs counter. Our server made the most memorable night with housemate ginger beer and harissa chicken wings. We indulged in Salatim, a colorful array of veggie sides bursting with flavor and nutrition! The merguez lamb sausage with tahini sauce was excellent. The eggplant entree was the star of the show - so good it could convince a carnivore to turn vegetarian/vegan! Thanks to Laser Wolf and Chef Michael Solomonov for truly phenomal Israeli cuisine - I loved dining at Zahav (15 years ago), and now Laser Wolf. Fun fact: Laser Wolf refers to Lazar Wolf (the butcher in Fiddler on the Roof Musical)

Middle Eastern food…read morenow occupies a far more prominent place in global dining culture, but Zahav was well ahead of that expansion, especially in the United States. Alongside internationally influential figures such as Yotam Ottolenghi and Eyal Shani, Michael Solomonov helped introduce a wider audience to the depth, variety, and sophistication of modern Israeli cuisine. Philadelphia is incredibly fortunate that he and his longtime partner, Steve Cook, built their defining restaurant here. My wife and I visited for an early dinner around 5:00 p.m. and chose the prix fixe menu, which remains one of the most memorable meals I have had in Philadelphia. The mezze was exceptionally fresh, the hummus completely lived up to its reputation, and the pita with za'atar was delectable. I also remember the rice (tahdig), chicken, and famous pomegranate lamb shoulder being delicious, while a cold Goldstar beer was a simple but perfect touch. Looking back at the food photographs still makes me hungry. Zahav creates a genuine sense of arrival before the first plate reaches the table. The elevated entrance sits above the surrounding shrubs and landscaping, making the restaurant feel pleasantly removed from the street, and we entered along the side beside the patio. Inside, the stone surfaces, stained glass, and warm finishes evoke Jerusalem's Old City without crossing into theatrical territory, while transparent windows along the kitchen reveal the work taking place behind them. Because we arrived while it was still light outside, natural light filled the restaurant; photos taken by other diners suggest that the fixtures create an entirely different glow after dark against the Jerusalem-inspired stone palette. As we entered, Solomonov was standing beside the pita oven to the left, and we were honestly a bit starstruck. We occasionally see him around Philadelphia, but watching someone with his global reputation doing such basic, physical work alongside the staff was especially meaningful. He struck me as a servant leader who remains close to the craft and the people responsible for delivering the experience each night. The fantastic service throughout dinner reflected that same combination of confidence, warmth, and attention. Solomonov's culinary talent is matched by a rare instinct for marketing, brand building, and community presence. His social media, cookbooks, retail products, and appearances in Netflix and YouTube food programming have extended his influence well beyond the restaurant, and he is as cool and charismatic as he is gifted in the culinary arts. A subtler strength across CookNSolo is the group's command of operations and technology, from its reservation systems and point-of-sale experience to the digital integration that guests may barely notice. Solomonov and Cook have created distinct concepts that operate with discipline without losing their individual character, and that balance between imagination and execution may be the most impressive part of what they have built. That judgment also extends to where CookNSolo chooses to open. The arrival of one of its restaurants can serve as an early vote of confidence in a neighborhood or development, attracting attention and signaling the cultural momentum that often precedes broader investment and excitement. Laser Wolf's presence in Philadelphia and at The Hoxton in Williamsburg embodies that philosophy, and I am eager to visit both locations, as well as Jaffa Bar in Philadelphia and Aviv in Miami. Zahav deserves to remain the focus here, while the broader quality of the CookNSolo ecosystem will unfold through the many other reviews I still need to write, including Goldie, K'Far, Dizengoff, Federal Donuts, Merkaz, and others. !

It's my mom's favorite restaurant in Philly by a long shot, and maybe even her favorite restaurant in the world. The first time I came, you had to pick one main for the table. We were split between a fish dish and grape leaves and ultimately decided on the fish, but our waitress brought a small portion of the grape leaves for us anyways. They always do something special like that, and it's an amazing touch that makes the experience so special! I like that they've changed it so each person picks a main, as it gives you the opportunity to try more things. Their signature lamb shoulder is great (and I have hated every other lamb I've had), and the fish dishes are always excellent. The best thing imo, though, is the crispy Persian rice! Philly has a lot of amazing food, but Zahav is up there for a reason. If you're lucky enough to snag a reservation it's worth the splurge. We started off with the Manti dumplings and broth, unfortunately, they were overcooked, dry and some had burnt skin. but when we pointed it out, the server didn't see anything wrong with it, maybe that's common for them, but that's not how we normally experience Manti at other restaurants Next, I had the chard octopus it wasn't charred. From the outside, it doesn't look like much; in fact, it looks like a bit of a dive from outside. But when you walk in, you are transported. The design of the restaurant is so special - community tables, pillows, tapestries, waterfall features, tiles, and belly dancing. The food was a little inconsistent. We shared many dishes: Bastilla (baked layers of filo dough, eggs, chicken, almonds, sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar); hummus (chickpeas, tahini, crushed garlic, lemon juice, sprinkled with paprika and olive oil, served with pita bread); Spanakopita; salad trio (eggplant salad, cucumber and tomato salad, and carrot salad); lamb tagine (stew of lamb, onions, and roasted peppers topped with honey and served with rice); Moroccan chicken with harissa cumin sauce; mujaddara (cracked bulgur wheat cooked with lentils and caramelized onions); and mint tea. I wish they didn't serve bottled waters, and the food was mostly good but not the most consistent. Our mujaddara wasn't served with the yogurt sauce listed on the menu, and the lamb with the tagine was incredibly fatty, making some of it inedible. The mint tea was really really really sweet - like syrup! I also wish the bastilla had a little less powdered sugar (I like on the dish, but it was A LOT of powdered sugar), and it was quite dry. But the eggplant salad, carrot salad, hummus, and mujaddara (even without the yogurt sauce) were great. I would happily have eaten just those dishes. They were busy - it's a popular place - but service was also a challenge. It took us almost a half hour to get the check and pay. I had to ask for the bill twice and then it still took a while to get it, for it to get picked up, and for it to come back to us. It's pretty bad if I'm considering walking up to the bar to get the check and pay. I loved the ambiance and the character. I loved that you can't tell how amazing it's going to be inside when you see the outside of the building - it's a surprise for sure. Our experience was that the food was a bit inconsistent, but it certainly was a fun meal.

Excellent all around. They fit us in on a busy World Cup Saturday night…read more We had Shakshuka, cabbage entree, and the lamb meatballs. All were tasty and well presented. It reminded me of restaurants in Tel Aviv. Our server Brian added immensely to our experience.

I love the vibe in here. it's fun, warm, casual, really great food and efficient service going on…read more Hummus Tehina: amazing. can be shared between four people, but my family of four does two orders and everyone gets a half. if you really like hummus, I suggest you do the same. the green sauce situation in the middle is great. comes with 3 pitas, if you want more it's $3 extra per pita. Merion Park Labneh: this labneh is thicker than other restaurants which I really like actually. the photo I insert may be deceiving, as it looks chunky. rest assured, it's absolutely smooth, just a thicker consistency than most labnehs. the spices on it are so so good. I think this is a must get along with a hummus. me and my sister are vegetarian, we share a hummus and a labneh and are decently full after those. we also snack on some small plates for the table (fries and olives) and leave full. Israeli Pickles and Olives: comes with two ramekins filled with varying sized pickles, not pitted olives, and some tiny yellow peppers I *think* are either pepper-chinos or at the very least taste similar. they also come with a small ramekin for the olive pits. The yellow peppers are very spicy, but I loved them. the olives are green, and i'd consider them friendly olives for those who are particular around olives. pickles were great as expected. French Fries: easy order for the table. portion is large and I think $8 is a steal for the quantity and quality. comes with a yummy ketchup my sister loves (she is considered a ketchup hater). COCONUT MALABI: I did not know what to expect. and honestly, first bite I was a bit confused by the texture, but by the end, I really liked it. its a thick pudding consistency, smooth, has a decent bounce to it, not too sweet at all, subtle coconut flavor. has a strawberry (I think) jam situation on top with some sort of crunchy thing. will be getting that again for sure. we had three people split this and it was enough. would consider getting two for four people though. service was quick, efficient, and kind. love the atmosphere. it has a sort of lively fun vibe to it. also we were in and out pretty quick without being rushed at all which is nice. just efficient. Also, I haven't tried them yet but they have a good little mocktail menu for those who don't drink!
