Very clean and attentive to sanitation. The workers were wearing gloves and the plastic wear dispensers are so excellent. The prices are very fair and portions were on the larger size. I am very particular where I eat, so when choosing a restaurant, I look at the reviews, the menu, and I frankly put the most weight on the reviews. I travel a lot for business, so Yelp and Google reviews are pretty much my goto. I'm in Phoenix on business for a few days, visiting from Austin, Texas. Green Corner Restaurant was actually my second choice out of all the restaurants I scoped out in this area, however after walking into my original first choice, for reasons that are not important, I walked out immediately and went to Green Corner Restaurant. And man, am I glad I did. The restaurant is a very casual, cafeteria style restaurant. It was very clean, and extremely busy. As I checked out what people were eating when making my way to the counter, not only did what I see look really good, but it was hard not to notice how large the portions were. So if you tend to have an appetite, Green Corner Restaurant will not disappoint. More importantly, everything on the plate of food I ate had some pretty intense flavors that were out of this world! I am uploading a photo of the plate of food I ordered that was a "Chicago Style Gyro Plate." I have to say two things: 1.) The photos do not give it justice as the food tastes a ton better than what it looks, and to me it looked pretty darn good. 2.) I was very thankful that the restaurant was busy and somewhat noisy, because halfway through my meal, I realized that I was moaning lightly in between bites (laughing!). I thought we had found the best Gyro spot until today...... this is the best Gyro spot for sure. They don't over do the Gyro with tzatziki sauce. It was the perfect blend of ingredients and lots of meat. Baklava Also amazing. Tried the chicken shawarma which was also pretty good but I liked the Gyro more. I only took away 1 star because they don't bring your tables meals out together. Luckily I was with my husband and we share our meals any way..... but we were done with the Gyro by the time they brought us the chicken Shawarma wrap. Green Corner is one of our favorite places to eat on the east side the food is good, however they are not dog friendly. I can understand inside being service dogs only, but you can't even take your dog out on the patio, it's all screened off so you can't get in. We take our pups to restaurants that have dog friendly patio's because they are well behaved and just lay under the table. It's too bad you can't even sit outside with your pet. read more

I kind of like how this place underpromises and overdelivers. They told us it'd be a 35 minute wait for our food but we got it in 20 minutes. It's a popular spot and it's cool that they stick with their name: they are indeed located on a corner and they use green colors. Pretty much our entire party got a green corner combo which includes several of their menu items like lamb kabob, chicken kabob, beef kabob, a falafel, Greek salad, hummus, rice, pita bread, and baklava. After tax and tip, our total bill came out to around $100. I really liked the baklava, beef, and the rice; they were so full of flavor. We stopped by Green Corner the other week to grab an early supper. Man this place draws a crowd. The wait wasn't too long to order thankfully. Now i love me a gyro, but unfortunately I have serious dietary restrictions so there's a lot I can not eat. Like the pita part of a gyro. I cant tell you how many places I've gone and requested - A gyro with no pita, please. And every dang time I get a confused look from the person taking the order. Seriously just toss it in a bowl and we're good. And ordering a gyro plate is a no go since i can not have rice or hummus or the substitutes offered for the plate here. After I reiterated to the gal, "I just want the gyro meat, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, pickles and tzatziki sauce." It finally clicked. The kid really wanted the chicken kabab, but that was a 45 minute wait. So he ordered a pita-less gyro too and Hubs ordered the pita-less chicken shawarma. Our meals come out and they're plated on a small salad plate. Which is fine, but when you want to cut everything up and toss with the tzatziki, it made it kinda difficult to not make a mess of things. Everyone said their food tasted really good. And my "gyro" came with a side of what looked and tasted like giardiniera which shocked the heck out of me. I was pleasantly surprised though. Great all around! Went for lunch on a Thursday and there were quite a few people there, but not overly crowded. The staff were cutting up a beautiful baklava into smaller portions at the ordering counter. It looked delish! Great first impression! I ordered the gyro combo with a Greek salad and drink. My peer ordered the chicken shawarma plate. It was huge and beautifully presented. We sat outside and the tables were surprisingly very clean. I realized why. They came out about every 15 minutes to wipe them down. Nice! However , there were a lot of troublesome flies. I recommend they get some disco balls or other natural repellent. The good news is that they brought the food out quickly. Nice, especially when on a lunch break! I'm quite particular about my gyros and related Greek salad and few do it well. This place absolutely nailed it!! Gyro ingredients perfectly balanced and tightly wrapped. They clearly know and care about what they do! The salad was fresh with just the right amount of dressing. I was so pleased. Everyone around us seemed relaxed and were enjoying the experience, as well. It was clear that they also have a lot of regulars and I can see why! So glad I found this place. We ordered the following : 1- a gyro plate, asked for no rice & extra salad, we had a huge portion of rice & there was no hummus. 2- Hummus deluxe app sub with baba gannoug, the chicken was super dry and the baba was so-so, we also did not receive a pita. My wife and I decided to try this place after she had seen a tik tok video. We decided to try the place for lunch on a late Sunday afternoon. It was a little loud to say the least when we arrived with lots of families and children. We perused the menu and proceeded to the order counter and decided to share a couple items. We decided to try the gyro plate and the falafel plate, we also order jalapeno spudz, we shared a large fountain drink and with their combos you get free baklava so it was $42 with tip total, not bad. We grabbed our drink from the fountain, grabbed some utensils and proceeded to find a seat outside as it was way too loud in. The girl at the counter had told us about 20 minutes to wait for our food which was about right of a wait, maybe a tad longer as it was busy. When the food runner finally brought our food we dug in pretty quick, my wife was starving! But I started with the rice, it was fragrant and yellow with flavor. Next was the salad it was crisp and flavored with a mild dressing, a little more feta and it would be spot on. There was lots of delicious gyro meat on my platter and it was cooked to perfection, and finally when I got to the hummus it was super creamy and tangy. The tzatziki sauce was creamy and dilly but in my opinion, could have used a little more garlic. My wife's plate of four falafel were large and crispy, and the tanini sauce was good, but underwhelming. The sdudz were ok but as they cooled they sorta turned into little pucks. But they were still good with the flavorful sauce, even though my wife said I added too much srirachi to it.. o well.. I didn't get to snap a pic of that and the pita, sorry. The pita was ok, even though a few pieces were a little crispy, not sure if this is homemade or store bought item, but I'm a sucker for fresh baked pita, hint, hint owners . The baklava was decent and for free not bad, my piece was a corner piece and suffered from crispy edge and dryness syndrome .. but o well, I nibbled a little of the other piece.. lol But for the price it was a darn good meal, tasty and delicious and lots of it...we will certainly try it again and try some other items. I'll start with I LOVE the food! I miss Carolina and what happened to me today is not cool. I go to Green corner in Scottsdale at least once a week- sometimes twice. for over a year now. I get the same thing and it's always amazing. until today. I ordered on the phone a large salad with on skewer. my friend decided she wanted one too and came with me to order hers at the counter. Not 20 minutes from when I placed my phone order. When we got back to work, mine was noticeably smaller. With one dressing. see photo. I went back to inquire. The kind gentleman said yes, this is the large salad - if placed on the phone- vs. in store ordering. WHAT?! why? we both paid the SAME PRICE. I did not get the same quantity or quality. mine looked like it had been in a refridgerator for hours. He did not offer to make me a "in house bowl" salad. He said sorry and handed it back. Hands down the best we've had in the state of Arizona! Top 2 for us nationwide. We saw the rave reviews and now we understand why, the food in this place was the best!
