Not a review I ever wanted to write. However, we purchased a car from GREEN LIGHT AUTO, my son's life savings @ 19 years old. Dodge Ram 1500 paid $21,000. Two days after we drove it off the lot the transmission had issues. Four mechanics, including a ram specialist, said there was an issue with the transmission. It became unsafe for my son to drive with issues such as bucking and jamming with the transmission. I then asked for a refund of the vehicle and they only gave me the purchase sale, excluding the tax and registration which I am still trying to get back. They will not give us back the conveyance fee of $799. We are still in the process of trying to recover that part of my son's life savings. Do your homework before you purchase from this dealership. My husband dealt with Carlos. They pretended to give him a great deal and constantly called to see if he wanted to buy. He ended up buying a truck. Full cash paid $11,000.00. While it was used and no warranty, within one week we starting noticing problems! Within 2 weeks my husband was stuck on the side of the road. I called Carlos and asked if there was anything they could do and he told us no and gave us the number to a mechanic that doesn't answer his phone and Carlos says don't tell him we referred you but we can't even get him on the phone so far we've put $2,500 into the truck and parts and toes and now it sits at another dealership and we're waiting to find out what the problem is and that dealership is charging us so we have to pay that fee on top they are the worst I would never suggest anyone purchase anything from this dealership they never contacted us never called me back they don't want to know anything! We traveled all the way from VT to CT (3 hours one way) to look at an Audi TT they have in stock. We emailed with Kylie prior to our arrival. When we showed up and went to test drive it, it wouldn't start. Employees jumped it, so we did test drive it. There were dash lights on and the brakes went as we pulled back in the lot. We wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, so we started looking at BMWs they had in stock. The first one we test drove was ok, but not my favorite. The second one had dash lights on. The third one had to be jumped too. We got in and the door wouldn't close. Once my husband got it closed he accidentally turned the car off (forgetting it was already running), and when he went to turn it back on a transmission malfunction message popped up. So we didn't even take it off the lot, we immediately got out. Salesman was sub par, didn't seem interested in hearing what we were looking for and annoyed we test drove 4 cars. When getting us keys to the 3rd car he asked if we were paying cash or financing. I told him it depends on what we find. I don't think he realized we have 775 and 800 credit scores, and felt we were being judged a bit based off our appearance (casual comfy clothing, it was a long ride). We decided to look elsewhere, given that so many vehicles were having problems here, and we successfully purchased a 2022 Audi A5 at a different dealership with absolutely no problems. I drove an hour and a half from NY and purchased a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited back in April. Was told there was no warranty,limited or otherwise, and that the vehicle was sold as is. Understood. Drove it home and took it to a local auto shop to set up inspection appointment. As the vehicle was running, there was a knocking on the engine. The mechanic explained that it was a common issue with these jeep motors and that it was a rocker arm replacement issue. After about a week the knocking got louder and more obvious. I decided to have the local mechanic do the work. I texted Carlos before hand and explained the situation and asked if it were possible for the dealership to help out. He offered to do the work for free at his shop on CT of I payed for the parts. Fair enough. But I live an hour and a half away and didn't feel comfortable driving the jeep there with the knocking. Plus id be without my vehicle for who knows how long. The cost was a little over $3000. And I also noticed the engine was running hot and smelled of antifreeze. My mechanic noticed a leak in the radiator and had to replace that. Another $1000. I explained to Carlos that even though I was aware of the "as is" purchase, having the jeep for only a little over a month and having to shell out $4000 on repairs is unreasonable. He said he would talk to the owner of the dealership and see what they can do. Again,, fair enough. Then I never heard from him again despite me texting him several times directly and emailing him. If they can't do anything, it would be decent to reach out and explain. But purchasing a vehicle for $20,000 then having to spend another $4000 for repairs only after about a month of owning it?? I think just out of good faith and respectability, the dealership should step up and work with me instead of flat out ghosting and ignoring me. read more

Purchased a vehicle and within two days every dash light came on including the engine light. Called to address the issue, manager Carlos then told me they didn't offer loaners and there was nothing they could do. Conveniently I got a call the next morning bright and early stating to bring my vehicle in and they will give me a loaner. Brought the vehicle in, they called not long after saying it was the spark plugs. I come back get the vehicle, next morning I get in start it same thing, every dash light. I call again, they say bring it in. During this process I notice the car needed an alignment. After bringing in the vehicle now the second time, they stated it was the coil packs 1 & 2. I say ok, it also needs an alignment. They call telling me the work is done, I come back to get the vehicle take off noticing alignment wasn't done (though they said it was), get home, and again the next day all dash lights come on I figured I'd check to see if they did do the work they said they did, they replaced the wrong coils (replaced 4 and 3, instead of one and two as they stated). I call again, they say bring it in. I drop it off yet again, at this point they have it over the weekend, I get a call stating it was the fuel injectors. They admitted to trying to replace just the one faulty one, but Honda only sold all 4. I say ok no big deal, I go pickup the vehicle. At this point I take it directly home to check it over considering the past experience's. Not only was there bolts missing from the injectors, but they did not do the alignment they said they did. After contacting they agreed to pay for an alignment, took the vehicle for said alignment (which they did, and also recommended to replace two front struts but Green Light didn't think so) and the Manager Carlos gave the shop a hard time about the price and had them reduce it. I understand every company has a bottom line, but this is outrageous and obviously has an impact on the vehicles they are selling. They sold me a vehicle that supposedly "passed emissions" but yet an engine light appeared In less than 300 miles of purchasing the vehicle. On top of that, I am also having to pay $300 for a detail because the vehicle they sold me REAKS like cigarettes (along with tons of scratches) and they refused to clean it. I have had better luck buying vehicles from Carvana than I did this place. Heck, you're better off getting a vehicle at A BETTER WAY WHOLESALE. New management is a must at this place for it to turn around. I can only hope that people read all the reviews and comments before purchasing a vehicle here. All that being said, I found a 2019 Honda Accord LX (1 year newer and had 10,000 less miles on it) up the road at J & M Auto for $6,000 less... if this experience doesn't tell you something I'm not quite sure what will. read more

I waited 1 year after my purchase of a Subaru legacy to leave a review. Since I have owned the car it has not made it to an oil change with out needing service. They supposedly went through the car and changed the timing belt, head gaskets, brakes, and clutch within the time I put a down payment and the delivery of the car. Immediately, I noticed this car had an oil consumption problem consuming about 1 qt of oil every 400 miles. I brought it back once, they claimed to have fixed it. Then I brought it back again, and they again told me they fixed it. Third time they pulled the motor and replaced the piston rings. I'm not sure what they actually did because the motor seized on the jersey turnpike 1100 miles after that service. Luckily, I had purchased an extended warranty, so the motor was replaced for about $900 out of my pocket. Now 1400 miles on the "new" motor it is back at the Subaru dealership getting looked at for a loud ticking and crankshaft position sensor codes. That is just the facts, I'm not going to get into the issues of dealing with the service department. read more

I wanted to post a positive review and be fair to offset some of the negative postings I saw which almost made me not buy a car from Green Light Auto; however , that would have been a mistake. I purchased a car in great condition but with a lot of miles. I looked on line and the price was very fair. My experience with the sales team was that they were laid back and very professional. They let me test drive the car myself and keep it for a long drive. No pressure. When I asked about the dealer fee, they even stated directly it was a dealer profit, something I have seen Major European Car Dealers struggle to explain when in fact its just a paperwork fee and pure profit. Very honest answer. When I told them I was willing to do the deal but wanted to check it out with an independent mechanic they encouraged me to find one and they would send the car. The inspection from my mechanic had a result of "excellent", and in fact, it verified the claims made by the sales person that the car had full mechanical records and was well maintained. I just left this shady establishment after wasting 2 hours in travel time, not to mention the countless hours and emails that led up to the delivery of their overpriced and underwhelming vehicle. Let me start by saying, I was initially put off by the inexperienced and unprofessional salespeople fighting over the commission with me. I'm a fair person and agree the commission and sale should go to the initial person who contacted me. The original sales person gave me an incorrect contact number and when I emailed, another salesperson attempted to make the sale. Typical, yet unprofessional to CONFRONT THE CUSTOMER. That should have been handled internally. Moving along, I made the hr trip to look at the vehicle, found it to be ok. Nice looking car, but had some issues such as a few dings but more importantly, a cracked driver side window. I left a deposit post a verbal agreement that the window would be fixed/replaced. The sales "team" Jack and Jay agreed to have the window fixed and this would take a day. I was promised a courtesy phone call the following day to insure the vehicle was ready for delivery. 3 days and several unreturned messages and emails later, I called and called and was informed that the vehicle was prepared and ready to be picked up today. The preparation for purchasing the vehicle consisted of obviously many hours of insurance acquisition, obtaining the funds (planned to pay in full) and a family member finding and funding daycare and taking to day off of work to bring me to pick up the vehicle. Fast forward, today was the day to pick up the vehicle ... At full price, and slightly damaged... The FIRST THING I checked was the scratch-crack in the window... I brought this to the attention of the salesperson JACK and the horrible, sheepish, and lackluster customer service began. When the issue was immediately brought to his attention, his demeanor changed, he became argumentative, and had no idea what to do or say. He really seemed clueless as to why the window hadn't been even been assessed, let alone fixed. He was argumentative in a way that was a far cry from the customer service you would expect from a dealership who deals in high end cars! We were met with comments such as "I NEVER TOLD YOU IT WOULD BE FIXED I TOLD YOU IT WOULD BE LOOKED AT" Confused- my family member and I found this puzzling. The salesperson ran in and out of the owners office, probably seeking a rhetoric and returned even more semi-hostile and annoyed. Finally, an answer- "we found that it was too expensive to fix as it's not a safety hazard, we decided not to fix it" -so he suggested insurance fraud... Oh the cherry on top! He advised is to call our insurance and put in a claim as there is no deductible on glass! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I asked him what was wrong with the window? He didn't know, not did he seem interested in finding out. From my family members observation, it was most likely a scratch in the tint. This would have cost them $50 at most to fix. They didn't care. No one was engaging, proactively trying to solve the problem, he was rude and should just change professions..., We asked for the deposit back, they complied but I HAD TO ASK for it on paper. He went to retrieve a refund slip while rolling his eyes. This place is completely unprofessional to say the least. They are shady as can be, the have ZERO customer service and were completely blind and ignorant to dealing with customer issues. Their careless attitude was somewhat indicative of perhaps going out of business- just a personal observation. Bottom line-DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! After the initial anger and disappointment subsided, we feel like we have dodged a bullet and have learned to do our due diligence to support small businesses, but will do major homework 1st. Bought an suv from here. It lasted 3 weeks and completely shut off in the middle of the road. We only got a 30 day guarantee... cost us $300 to tow it down there which they didn't cover. Not happy with the vehicle, owner doesn't stand by his vehicles. You're just better off going somewhere else if you can. I drove over 3 hours to see a vehicle I was interested in. The salesperson had no knowledge of the vehicle he was showing me. He had to consult with other employees for every question I had about the vehicle. This was the first red flag. Not only that, the nonchalant attitude made me feel like they couldn't care less about selling the vehicle. I made an offer and they came back with an out the door price that was $1500 more than my offer and over $600 more than the listed price. They claim $498 in dealer fees and try to stick you with a $199 Vin fee for etching the VIN on the windshield. When I said I would still be interested if they were willing to negotiate I was told via email "we could maybe help you out with a couple hundred bucks". This is supposed to be a professional dealer? They offer no warranty, and no piece of mind. CT is an AS-IS state in regards to used vehicles, so no guarantee or warranty is simply ludicrous when they refuse to actually negotiate on the value of a used vehicle. The careless attitude and lack of professionalism from the salespeople makes me very confused as to how they've stayed in business. The vehicle I was interested in has been for sale for a few months now and they wont come down at all on the price to sell it. After a month from rejecting their out the door price I contacted them to see if they were interested in actually selling it, and the out the door price went up! UP!? Not only that, but the vehicle, which has a manual transmission, is still listed as being an Automatic! I am convinced they just don't care about selling vehicles, their image, or customer service. Bought my 2008 Subaru Impreza from this establishment approximately 2 years ago. It almost seemed held together with tape when we bought it (ran out of time and needed to make a move on some sort of vehicle, unfortunately for us) and, as always, the advertized price did not include fees such as window etching for $400. One can get a DIY window etching kit for $25 after a quick google search. That is literally thievery. All of that aside, I was told after I purchased the car that they would send my wife and I the owners manual and a small bottle of touch up paint for the several rust spots on the body. Needless to say: that was an outright lie. Since then: the car has had a multitude of problems including a clutch replacement after only a few thousand miles into my ownership (which is fairly normal at 100K, but a good dealer would have noticed it having not been replaced and taken care of it for the customer), complete exhaust replacement (it had several leaks and bad attachments), a bad drive belt (which is an easy thing to check and replace), several loose body parts with missing clips and connectors (including the bumper, engine splash shields, and wheel wells), and semi-recently: some sort of head gasket leak (this problem is fairly common in Subaru boxer engines and, again, a good dealer would have known this and helped the customer by making sure the gaskets were quite solid, as opposed to just "good enough"). This particular dealer seems to pride itself on "good enough" and I highly recommend you go somewhere else for your new or "newish" car. I would dare say even craigslist is better. Regardless, don't go here if you can avoid it. read more

The sales woman Krystal was always available to talk and was great at answering any questions I had. The finance department helped me get approved and in my car the same day. Definitely check them out, if you are looking to buy a used vehicle, they will make your life easier than you could imagine! Update: mechanics are incompetent didn't even have the car a week check engine light came on and was forced to bring it in, turns out they had put the wrong oil in and installed the brake incorrectly causing it to not work properly. Later the same month the lower control arms were completely broken and had to replace those as well. Tried to have them cover only oil change cost considering it was their fault in the first place and was told there was nothing they could do. When pressing further I was told that they would see what they could do and call me back. I haven't heard from them since. I contacted them via CarGurus (Carlos was who I dealt with) about a 2002 Tbird, but ended up going with a 2015 Jeep GC. It's a super small dealership, but the attention I got was really nice. He was around to answer questions, but he gave me my space so that I didn't feel hovered over when I looked at the cars and test drove them. I also ended up getting a great deal and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. I've purchased cars from 4 different dealerships around the country, and this one by far has been the most enjoyable experience. Seems very Mom and Pop, but you get that human connection from Carlos and he talks to you like a person, not just a sale. He even made sure everything was clean and sanitized for me on both cars (and the pen I used to sign the contract!), because of COVID. As my first time financing and purchasing a vehicle from a dealer ship I decided to purchase a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder for $14,999 from Green Light Auto which ended up becoming a situation that I was trying to avoid having with a dealer ship!! IT became a nightmare of an experience for me!! I test drove the car twice upon doing so I realized that some maintenance needed to be done. Upon purchasing the vehicle I was told by financing manager Carlos Moran who has been there for 16 years stated that the car was all set to go and everything was taking care of!! Despite there negative reviews I've saw I took a leap of faith and continued to conduct business with them In hoping I won't have a bad experience like others have!! There was a few Red Flags during the deal but I dismissed them and that's where I went wrong!!* After purchasing the vehicle on 6/10/2021 I noticed that one of the fog lights was not working and I had a issues with the key. So I went there on 6/21/2021 to fix those issues. On 6/23/2021 a week later of having the car I am driving an my check engine light came on!!!! I was extremely frustrated and up set especially When I found out that the issues was!!! I immediately called Carlos he said bring it in for a look at. Based on the negative reviews I've seen at my continued experience with them at this point I trusted what's being said by them!! So I decided to take the car to Auto Zone first and have them check the check engine light. When check it came out to be the ""Catalytic Converter"" I was very upset because I should not been dealing with any issues with a vehicle that I only had for over a week and that I was told was all set to go!!!. So I took it to Green Light Auto right after and told the mechanic what I found out he confirmed that was the issues!.. I was told that it could take up to 2 to 3 days to get fix!!. That was not going to work for me for the fact that, that was the only vehicle I had to get to work and I work in another city... So I told the mechanic can he please fix the car as soon as possible because I really can't miss days of work!!. An once again reiterated that I should be at they're place of business with an issues with a car that I just purchased a week ago especially with NO "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" the mechanic did apologized but not Carlos!. The next day I was told the car was ready for pick up because the sway bar bushings had to be replaced as well. Upon me picking up the car I decided to go with my instincts and check underneath the vehicle and nothing looked knew or changed!!. So I spoke with the mechanic and it was confirmed that I was correct there was No Knew parts and parts were replaced with used parts from other vehicle!! Which I wasn't aware of or told upon pick until I did my own investigation!!* When I realized what was done I called the manager Carlos and expressed my concern about that he became very passive - aggressive, defensive , rude and very dismissive with me during our conversation regarding my concerns with the vehicle that I purchased from them when it was all said and done for a little over $21,633.80with all fees and car warranty!! Even though I did purchased a warranty through a second party that they offered which is not really a good one.. I didn't think I nor the warranty should have been responsible for fixing that issues!!. So his response was that I an nitpicking too much and he doesn't like to deal with people who nitpick or are not happy and if I am unhappy with the vehicle to return it and but I won't get the full $8,000 that I had put down because he stated that I will not be entitled to $1,123.00 in sales tax for a car that I only had for a week!!.. It was easy for him to say that because I would be the one losing out more then him!!! Honestly I had a very good experience with this dealer. First I applied online for the loan. (don't have the best credit and already have a loan for another car) then I traveled from Long Island by ferry then took a taxi to the place. When we got there we were treated right, we weren't rushed or felt pressured. We were allowed to take a private test drive. Was there for a total of 2 hours and left with the car we wanted. So, I it towed to my mechanic that I have been going to for over 20 + years and he said the started was in pieces in the engine. The engine won't even manually turn it is a connection rod went thought the engine or a valve. Without spending $4,000.00 to put a new or rebuilt engine we have a car that we made 1 car payment on and it is a pile of junk sitting in my parking space. With no way for my son to get back and fourth to college and 1 hour away. I called and spoke to DO NOTHING Carlos Moran Finance and General Manager, not even oh my I'm sorry just let me talk to my mechanic and I'll call you back.... Almost a week no call back. Oh forgot to mention that we also bought a 2020 Subaru Impreza from them 1 1/2 years ago and a value gasket went also. SO PLEASE DON'T GO THERE AND SPEND YOUR HARD MONEY ON THEIR VEHICLES. I would leave zero stars if I could. Bought an Audi a4 off of them in august, driven 10,000 miles on it and has already needed a new clutch and dmf due to a pressure plate failing (mechanical error), replaced high pressure fuel pump because it went bad, rear shock and shock mount has blown, valve cover gasket and can tensioner gasket are leaking.. What's next, actually hope these guys pay for their dishonesty. I paid more than the kbb value for the car because they made it "look" better than it actually was. Emphasized that the Carfax is clean which it has but under further inspection it's been in an accident. Could have bought a brand new car for what they have drained out of my pocket. The buying experience was simple and seamless: however, once I got the truck I purchased home, I had to sink $1200 in repairs into said truck. They offered to do the work needed but it's over a 2 hour drive & who wants to drive over 100 miles with check engine lights on. They offered to reimburse the cost of the parts needed, at their cost. Called about 2010 Mazda. Woman on the phone was very nice and said I could come down to take a look. She mentioned they would have the car ready on the lot. Drove down about a half hour. The man inside didn't seem interested in selling me a car. Car battery was dead on arrival so they jumped the car and started it up. Hatchback door wouldn't open, despite the dash saying it was open. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALER! No matter what they claim, they do not care about customers and are willing to sell you junk you are stuck with. Check Yelp, Google, BBB, and elsewhere and you will find MANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS and seriously bad experiences with cars purchased from them. They will undoubtedly respond to my review here. Do not believe a word they say. Their standard response to reviews here is they are open to having car inspected by your own mechanic prior to purchase. What if you're not able to do that and trust they are selling you quality car the salesman has told you? I made this mistake. At the end of the day how they have finally responded to serious complaints about cars purchased from them shows what kind of dealer they are. They are not a dealer you can trust. Here is what happened to me and how they have responded. I bought 2007 Subaru Legacy from them. Before I purchased the car, the salesman told me they did all the work necessary on the car so I could expect to get 100K miles with it. I purchased the car and drove home 200 miles to Mass. Over 4 months that I had the car, it broke down 4 times with a serious problem. The car spent most of the time either parked not drivable or at the dealer being fixed. It took me quite a bit of effort to convince them to fix each problem. Many times they either did not respond to my contacts or took forever to get problem resolved. With the last problem, the car was diagnosed needing engine rebuild. The dealer claimed their mechanics rebuilt the engine and repaired everything needed so I should have no further problems with the car. However, shortly after I took the car back I started noticing the car was leaking oil. A local Subaru dealer diagnosed this problem where they would need to rebuild the engine again to repair properly at cost of $6000. I contacted the dealer about this new problem but they have ignored me and not responded. This dealer claims to have top notch mechanics working on their cars. Do not trust them on this! How can that be true when I've had all these problems with this car? A good mechanic makes sure car being sold will last a reasonable amount of time without problems. The car is junk at this point and I'm not able to drive it. Don't waste your time with this dealer. Stay away! read more

I bought a car with them and was promised a few things to be ordered for the car that were not working right when I bought it. I've called them over a dozen times and still have yet to get my parts! Keep getting the run around that they are being ordered and that they will call me back and never received a call back. Would NOT recommend them! read more
