We are buying a home and hired Green Light todo our inspection. Fred was on time, very professional, and did a thorough inspection. He went around the house, did an exterior evaluation, then did an interior inspection, and finally, he went under the house. We were there the whole time and could see and hear his progress even when he was under the house. He went over his findings with my agent and me after his inspection. We received the report in just over 24 hours (earlier than quoted timeframe). They have been great to work with. We are scheduling the Section II work with them soon. Man oh man. What is one of the things you do NOT want to find in your home. Once you cross off rats and mice (and large spiders), for me it is a termite. So I found one happily flying around and doing it's termite activities in my house one day. As I just bought this place, I didn't know if it was a permanent resident or just passing through. Here's where Green Light comes in. I contacted them on Yelp to come out and do an inspection. They were very responsive in getting back to me for a quote and then followed up with a time. Rod the inspector showed up on time and did a thorough inspection outside the house, inside and in the crawlspace underneath. Turns out I had a "good" termite (is there such a thing?): A damp wood termite. Upon inspection, thankfully the damp wood was not in my house - this guy must have been a traveler. However Rod did point out areas that need to be addressed - potential spots where moisture could get in via the plumbing, excess wood in the crawlspace, etc. This was followed up with a detailed report that was emailed to me a couple of days later. I'll give them one star for being prompt in showing up at the scheduled time. What I'm not happy about is they charge $60 just for a quote. Most other companies do quotes for free. A quote in my books is the same as an inspection. I understand that some companies like to come out and look/inspect before giving a quote... this is normally done free of charge by other companies. This place came out an took a mere 1-2 minute look and charged me $60 for a 1-2 min look... rip off? They also quoted me $120 more than another company that I ended up using for the same exact type of work to be done. read more

So far I'm really happy with the service I've received from Green Light. Over the course the first month in our new house, I killed 5 black widows. My personal experience with this company & Fred Hatfield was a nightmare! Fred showed up at my home to do a home inspection & suggested services that were not needed at all. I had one other company inspect my home prior to, & called them again after the inspection done by Mr. Hatfield. That company came out again (free of charge) to confirm that what Mr. Hatfield suggested was completely over the top & unnecessary. Not only did they confirm that it wasn't necessary, they stated that I was being misled & that anyone in the pest industry with experience & common sense would come to the same conclusion. He does not abide by contracts, verbal or written. Simply put he is a snake. Ironic isn't it, considering he is in the pest control business. I would NOT recommend doing any kind of business with this company or Fred Hatfield. Ever! In reply to your false comments Mr. Hatfield you came to my residence in full uniform in your pest control vehicle & performed an inspection. I have never heard of a buyer performing their own home inspection using their own pest control company. That would be biased. So it is a factual review. You suggested that the home had termites & needed treatment. Which was a false statement confirmed by Aspen Pest Control. This is not slanderous, it is fact. Very friendly and helpful. I needed a termite inspection for my condo HOA. I work nights so I have a very limited availability during the day. They are expensive, and the attention to detail and work quality doesn't live up to the price. Workers don't communicate, paintjobs are terrible, they break things without reporting it, mount things up side down, leave nails and screws everywhere, reroute wires in the worst ways. They might be good for inspection and their office staff will try to resolve things but if you end up using them you'll have to check Everything. I saw winged insects crawling up my windowframe, and immediately looked for a termite control company. I called a couple of other companies, and was told there was an up-front inspection fee (one was $150) to come out. I didn't really think it was unreasonable to charge a fee, but kept calling. When I called Green Light, they didn't charge a fee, provided a complete report of anything I need to fix along with an estimate and came out quickly. That was all amazing. The capper, is that I didn't have termites (they could have fooled me if they were dishonest). I had plain old ants that I could take care of myself. Whew! What a relief! I do have some dryrot on a couple of fascia corners which I knew about. They included the exact areas in photos in the report. The estimate is very reasonable, and they also paint the finished repair (I provide the paint). Needless to say, they are the ones I will always call from now on. Completely honest. read more

It can be so hard to find reliable people, but I have to say that I'm very impressed with this team. I had them out here in September to do a "just because" pest inspection ("just because" my friend was selling her home and $10k+ in termite/bug damage and I didn't want to think about my house being eaten from the inside out). Fred came right out, did a great inspection ($95) and made recommendations for the areas of wood rot (no pest damage, thank goodness!). Rollin came to my residents well organized and explained everything he was doing and what's the reasoning behind his work. I can't stand rodents and roaches the scary "r's" but Rollin reassured me he would do everything in his power to combat this issue with their intensive treatments. Gives small business a bad name. He promised the termite pest control on Tuesday (which is standard in the industry to send the termite report out to the lender asap). Its 10:01 a.m. on Wednesday--still no pest control report. Fred said that his repair person would take pictures. When I asked the repair person about pictures--he had no clue what I was talking about. Called on Tuesday afternoon to remind him about the report---no response. I am a small business owner myself and I take pride for being first responsive to my customers and then delivering on what they expect and when they expect it. If I can't deliver, then they are the first ones I contact to let them know the status. Shameful! read more
