I LOVE GTG. Like...so much. I first ate here a few weeks after they opened and was surprised by how great the customer service and food were right off the bat. I have been back plenty of times since and have introduced it to friends and family members who also love it. My go-to is the Crispy Tofu Salad, but their ahi poke and wraps are also killer. I thought the food was fresh and healthy. I was a bit overwhelmed by the menu because there were so many items, but I finally settled on a salmon salad and a fizzy lemonade drink. Portions were good and the food was brought out to us pretty quickly. Only thing was that the inside of the restaurant was a bit warm the night we went, so we sat outside. Staff is super attentive into bringing me house hot sauce, and also the XXXHot Mexican Sauce they have (which you can buy for $4). Great flavor and fast service. Got the chicken teriyaki bowl. It had the perfect amount of spice to the sauce but was not over powering. The vegetables in it were amazing also. I got a small and could not even finish it. Food is very filling! I have eaten here a few times in the past but the menu has change since the last time I was here. I recently moved back home and decided to go to Green Tomato Grill for dinner tonight. I've been on their mailing list and saw their new butternut squash tacos so I decided to go with that but asked for no slaw since she said there was cilantro in it and I HATE CILANTRO. Big improvement from last time I wrote a review here. My first trip here epic failure but a message from the head chef kyle and free meal to make up for messing up my vegan order made me wanna come back. This time around the staff seemed more there and alert and making sure they didn't mess up again. I ordered the bbq tofu bowl and it was really good and filling and had alot of fresh and delicious ingredients a must try for those who follow a vegan diet. Good flavor on the bowl but if you like your food spicy just add some sirracha and it goes well with the flavors of the bowl. The large size is a easy share if your not starving and price on the food was fair for the product. Overall way better experience and if your in the area a must stop for a nice healthy meal. Food is made to order and it's so delicious and I love that they have different types of sauces on the tables so you can make it as spicy as you want. I like it mild to medium but my bf that likes his food spicier he can add as much hot sauce as he wants. I've had the chile verde bowl & steak and eggs for breakfast and both have been satisfying and very generous portions. The bf had green stew and burrito there..no complaints. The coffee is regular..nothing special but their pineapple berry lemonade is very refreshing. I was here only 4 days ago. I found out that my husband and daughter went back for breakfast today, so I decided to go for lunch. You need to know that we live in Placentia, not that close. The food was so good the first time that it was worth the drive. Today I had a chile verde bowl, yum. I got the regular size and was very full. I also ordered the cucumber ginger lemonade. I usually drink water when I go out, but was curious about their agave lemonades. It was refreshing a a good combination of flavors. I bought one of their gluten free desserts, but was too full to eat it with my meal. I don't know how it was, because I gave it to my sister who also has to eat GF. I came in today during lunch time and it was extremely busy. The staff was very nice, the two workers in the front Aaliyah and Miles were extremely helpful and friendly when helping me choose what to eat. Even though it was busy, I appreciate how the service was still great. I will definitely be coming back again, also, their Watermelon Basil lemonade is absolutely delicious. Love the vegan burger! Patti is made of black beans, beet, eggplant.... it doesn't sound like the best combo but it's heavenly! It's topped with arugula and i was offered some aioli sauce on the side to ho with. Very very yummy! One of my kids ordered kids burger which came out only slightly smaller than an adult burger- and the guy, Bill, deserve a 5 star for his service. He offered to do lettuce and tomato on the kids burger and he was so nice to let me sample the different lemonades to pick one for the kids. The lemonades were btw really refreshing- my fave is the minty one- normally I don't allow my kids to have 'colored beverages' other than fresh juice. These guys use agave which made it healthier and acceptable for us. We had an order of a wrap and a salad as well all tasted really good. We were given small basket of pop corn - not sure if those came with the dinner or kids meal- but they happily refill when we requested and Bill was so kind he even offered more for on the road which we politely declined. It's a bit pricey considered it's casual dining - order by the counter and food served to you but patrons typically buss their own tables. Our bill for family of 4 came up to around $35+ with no drinks ordered for adults. For a little more we could have dined in Marie Callender type of dinners and have table service and portions large enough for leftovers to go. They have coupons in the community booklet which was how we learnt about them. So it's not the best value for families imho but it's pretty good food, fresh and healthy which I imagine would cost so much more for the same served in an upscale restaurant. We like the clean tables, bright and modern ambience and easy listening music. And, the staff are awesome. read more
