We've now used Greenway multiple times and always had great results. The first time was when we first moved into our house and needed some new carpet installed in the hallways. We got 3 quotes from a few different Yelp-researched companies, and Greenway's was the best. They perfectly matched the existing carpet and expertly installed it - you can't even tell where the transitions from new to old are. The second time was after we had a water leak that flooded a bedroom and ruined the carpet pad. This time, I just called Greenway without calling around and they installed new padding and the existing carpet on the same day that I called. These guys are great. I needed to have the flooring replaced at a rental property I own, and I needed it done quickly in-between renters. I came here on my lunch break and explained my need for high-quality laminate that looks like red oak, but is very durable for a downstairs installation that includes a kitchen. They showed me samples and I picked a suitable product, as well as the best underlayment they had, as the subfloor is a poured concrete slab. Greenway came out the same day to measure and get me an estimate, which I approved. They started demolition of the old flooring the next day, and did some extra floor resurfacing to level the concrete slab. The new flooring was installed over the next few days and came out beautiful. I'm super happy with the work they did and with the quality of their flooring. They were also very pleasant to work with, and seemed to understand my needs and met them completely! I would use them again in a heartbeat! We originally went to Lumber Liquidators, but their prices were high, and you couldn't get a straight answer from them about how much it would cost for installation. Additionally, there was a customer who came in furious because they would not refund him for extra boxes of flooring without a 10% penalty. He claimed a salesperson told him it would be okay. The manager was being a hard-nosed jerk. That was a warning sign to me. So, we left, and noticed that right next door was Greenway Floors. The shop is nothing fancy, but they had nice products. We worked with Gerardo Meza to strike a good deal for laminate flooring for our entire upstairs. We were replacing 9 year old carpets. The installation was great! They had a crew of 5 people working together to get the job done expediently. It took them two days. I am giving them 4/5 stars. They lose one star because it took 2.5 months after we ordered the product for it to finally come in on a boat from China. To be fair, he did agree to give me a small additional discount for the inconvenience, when I asked for it. The installers did a near perfect job, but I had to complain about a mirrored closet door alignment not closing flush anymore. They first tried to "fix" it by simply switching the doors around, but that only transferred the problem to the other side. So, I told them to try again. They eventually fixed it. Also their work on a rounded edge of trim didn't look clean, so I asked them to do it again. Their second attempt was much better. I think you'll get a much better value at Greenway. Gerardo is a very low pressure salesman, and will give you the best deal. read more

We are very happy with the laminate flooring we chose from this company. From the beginning Hassan was extremely helpful in giving us a fair quote and even came to our home to give us an estimate that very same day. They worked within our budget and the installers worked diligently to get the work done in one day. We noticed the next day there were a few areas that needed some slight improvement, they came back within the week and quickly made the corrections. I called the store today hoping to ask some questions about changing out the carpeting in our home. The conversation I had with the lady who answered the phone was difficult. I had to repeat myself multiple times before she understood what I was asking. And, at the end of it, she wasn't a sales agent and no agents were available to help me. This company cheated and took advantage of my elder parents by knowingly installing the wrong color hardwood then refusing to replace it. The floors in one room of my parents house were damaged and needed to be replaced. Greenway did the original installation and knew the color that was previously installed. When they came to start the job my father called the supervisor to say that the color they were installing didn't match. Instead of coming to check, the supervisor told his team to finish the job. When I came to see the final results I couldn't believe that they had knowingly installed the incorrect shade and taken advantage of my father. Not only that, they also installed clearly damaged pieces as well. When we called to complain, the answer we got was that "the color will change over time" even though it was CLEARLY the wrong shade (oak instead of cherry). Well, it has been several months and NO CHANGE to the shade of the floors. We've had multiple calls with the guy who installed the floors and he refused to take responsibility or even come and look at the work that was done. read more

I was looking to replace the carpet in my house with hardwood and worked with Doug in their San Leandro office. He was professional and quite knowledgeable and very responsive while coming over to our house to take measurements and providing us a estimate, flooring samples, and design consultation. I ended up going with another contractor, solely because I decided to use Shaw flooring products that Greenway did not carry. However, I'm positive I will not find customer service that surpasses Doug's and Greenway's. read more

It looks like a good place to do your floors - prices are quite low, quality of wood is great (sometimes better than at other places we've looked). They installed engineered floors for us in practically one day, and did a really nice job with it, no serious complaints. The only drawback was no clarity of communication on some days and them not being very punctual. By all means you need to stay in contact with the owner, Xavier, and nor rely on other employees if you have any issues. Overall, we are happy we went with them. read more

These guys will never be on time, their work was incomplete, they forgot to fix multiple things which was part of original estimate, they also embezzled the material that was order, they ordered more than what was needed, their works smoked weed on the job, totally unprofessional. Outstanding work! Great workmanship and fast. They did a wonderful job, started at 8:30 in the morning, I thought it would take them 2 or 3 days to complete--but they did it in one day, were done by 5:30pm! They came in with a team, removed the old carpeting, hauled it away, painted/measured/beautifully installed the baseboard--and the floor absolutely looks great. I recently had my laminate floors done by Greenway. I am a renter and was lucky enough to convince my homeowner to replace the carpet in my living room and hall/hall closet with laminate. Claudio came for my original estimate November of 2013. Greenway was the most reasonable estimate. Soon after, my oven and heater broke and we had to put my flooring idea on hold. The homeowner had me get a fresh quote from Claudio this summer and voila, they approved the total cost! Claudio was and accomodating to my scenario and once it was approved, we were able to have the install done near immediately. The install crew was great and my new floors look fantastic. Greenway floors have surperb quality laminate flooring, tile, and carpet. They also have great prices that we found to be unbeatable. They did excellent job of installing the laminate flooring, tile, and carpet at two of our places. They even replaced the pipe lines a toilet in the bathroom because they discovered that the pipe line was old and needed replacing. You could not find a flooring company that would work late into the night to fix a plumbing issue (we had a tight deadline to get our place re-modeled). Furthermore, they were really flexible with the work schedule. We had originally given a start date but had to delay the start date and they were fine with that. They even worked through the weekend and late into the nights because of our tight time line (all without charging extra!!). You would not be able to find another flooring company that could match the un-beatable prices, the excellent workmanship, being able to get the work done on time with flexibility and tight deadlines, and the excellent quality of the materials offered by Greenway Floors!! Best of all we found the owner to be very honest and sincere and to stand by the quality of the company's work.
