I was contacted by Chris at Greenway Mazda after requesting a true car quote. I told Chris my situation and that I really didn't know what I was looking for other than a new SUV. We made an appointment for later that evening and he promised me he would be thorough and provide me everything I needed to make a decision. Chris kept his word. When I visited, he greeted me with a smile and immediately took me to a CX-70 and I fell in love. He went over features and we took a test drive. Chris was very friendly and personable. Throughout the interaction, he was patient while I had questions and called my mom for her opinion. I did not make a car deal on the first day, but Chris worked TIRESLY the following day to work with the managers to fit my budget and we were able to close the deal. Greenway Mazda is a total scam. Liars and fraud. My family and I used to be huge Mazda fans and we've owned them before, but this experience has been so disgusting that we've actually started to hate the Mazda brand now. I bought a 2014 Mazda6 here nearly two months ago and it's been one non-stop headache of lies and excuses. If you end up in the finance office, watch out. Do not believe a single word the Finance Manager tells you. He is a professional liar. I went to see him three times in person, and each time he looked me right in the eye and promised the refund was already sent. It was all a lie. He even put a fake email address on my legal documents--changing it to HANLAI@gmial.com--just so I wouldn't receive the digital copies of my paperwork or any cancellation updates. His every word is untrustworthy. They pushed GAP insurance on me like crazy, even though my car was only $12,000 and I put down over 50% as a down payment. I didn't even need GAP! They also tricked me into thinking other protection plans were included in the package. I later found a maintenance plan for over $900 sneaked into the contract. I checked the details and it only covers two oil changes. $450 for one oil change? That is straight-up robbery. They also hid an extra $1,800 in my contract under something called MVP. The Finance Manager literally told me three times that he didn't know what it was, then finally claimed it was a reconditioning fee. What a joke! When I picked up the car, it was filthy and full of trash inside. What reconditioning did I pay $1,800 for? I've been trying to get my $2,900 refund for over 50 days now. The insurance company confirmed the dealer never even started the process, despite what the Finance Manager told me to my face. They are just sitting on my money while I pay daily interest to my bank. Every time I call, they say someone will contact you, but nobody ever does. It's been almost two months and I still don't have my registration or sticker. The car doesn't even show up in the DMV system. I am filing formal complaints with the TxDMV, OCCC, and CFPB today. Unfortunately, Greenway Mazda's service department plugged it wrong and when I was driving home the plug came out and Discount Tire told me the entire tire had to be replaced. Greenway Mazda charged me $63.65 for the ineffective plug. When I questioned the Service Manager, he said it was that expensive because they did it the right way. Clearly that was incorrect. The new tire from Discount Tire along with the Greenway Mazda plug cost me approximately $400! Their service department is not answering the phone probably because they lack the knowledge to answer honestly my questions about this. Their inept work cost me and they should be ashamed. The parts rep finding what I needed was good but their website, trying to get coupons suck. It would not take my cars vin number, never got an email or text either! Plus they charge an additional 3% if you pay by credit card. The young lady said it was their policy just like if you go to a restaurant and use your credit card. I told her not sure what restaurant she goes to, but I have never been charged 3% or any percent for eating at a restaurant using a credit card. Purchased a 2023 Kia Sorento on July 4th of this year. The vehicle is mostly great. The salesman, was new...very green, but helpful and friendly. The sales manager, Dante, was a sleaze, definitely doing what sales managers do best...trying to sneak every little penny into the transaction he thought I wouldn't catch. Now to the business/finance person...James Kennedy (who I understand, shockingly, no longer works here): deceitful, manipulative and deceptive. It's absolutely my fault for not reading every single word in fine print...admittedly. But he flat-out explained the 4-in-1 warranty policy using a specific scenario saying we'd be covered if it ever happened...a cracked windshield. We did, and it didn't. Cracks up to 6" would be covered, but his explanation specifically said if the windshield needed to be replaced, this would cover it. And since the windshield integrates to some electronics module behind the rearview mirror, he explained that certain things would have to be recalibrated after the windshield is replaced, and this 4-in-1 policy covers all that. Called the warranty company....nope. It does not and they will not. So we paid $1500 for a road hazard warranty policy that's essentially useless when needed. Now we'll be paying $803 to a reputable windshield repair company to have the windshield properly replaced, just 72 days after purchasing a vehicle from Greenway. On top of that, NOBODY ever answers the phones at Greenway. Ever (unless you press the option for sales). So if you're looking for a job, my guess is that Greenway Mazda must be hiring, but I sure as heck would never work for these people. read more

It is with great regret I have to compose such a review. I have been to Greenway Mazda several times for the same issue to only be turned away with suggestions for fixing things other than what I have come in for. We had just gotten the car and as soon as I heard an issue I went to the shop for them to suggest I get other things done. Now I will say this in the beginning I was like okay I need this and that okay sure. Mind you I have paid for things to be done outside of what I came for. Yesterday I came in because the audio was out in my vehicle which I have been to this facility numerous times for. Two of the techs were able to witness hey this vehicle has no sound. Before entering the office I also notified them of another issue my remote was not allowing my truck to open. Since Im here may as well get it all taken care of. Well the tech had my car pulled in. After waiting a few hours he called me to his desk to explain we have looked at your remote and the battery post was loose simple fix. I said okay he mentioned nothing about the sound so I said okay am I done did you all address the no sound in the car the main issue I came here for? He replied you will have to pay another diagnosis fee for such ...I said wait what that's what I came here for. He apologies and said I forgot to tell them to look at that.. Hmmmm so who's fault is that sir? I'm not paying another 199 for a diagnosis fee when that what you were initially supposed to be doing. He goes to talk to his manager whom I guess approved them to now look into the sound issue. Shortly after the gentleman/manager comes and says there is sound in the car and unless we can replicate it there is nothing we can do. I said sir when I pulled up not one but two of your techs witnessed there was no sound in my vehicle. I have been there over three times and because you cant go back in the shop and replicate such you wont look into it. He said well ma'am we hear sound in the vehicle I replied but as soon as I leave as I have the last three times you will have me come back pay and diagnostic fee to tell me the same thing hey I cant replicate such so you'll have to come back. People please steer clear of this facility as it a money scheme. I will never and I mean never go here again. I live in Sugar Land and will drive past this facility every time from now on. As I told the shop supervisor on yesterday I do not mind getting other things fixed on my vehicle but refuse to keep coming for them to recommend me to pay for services and issues I did not come for. It was okay in the beginning but every time I come it lets look at this and that okay ill look at that but can you address the issue I came with. I came in because my vehicle had no sound and has been without such for a month, however they recommended my air filter be changed and a software update be performed. Prior to this visit they recommended tires, shocks, all kinds of stuff its hilarious even for me to do the maintenance for a vehicle that has only 20,000 miles on it. Once I got to the desk I was like I don't need that they said oo you are correct come back when your milage reaches 50 thousand miles lol I don't think the shop and or its techs that I delt with are competent of what customer service is first and foremost let alone how to do maintenance of ones vehicle. They use deceptive sales practices, and will do anything to try and get you in the car then try and make you purchase all these extra add ons you don't want. Then will tell you they're not selling the car to you unless you purchase them (which is illegal). I even had the general manager step in and tell me he was gonna handle the deal text me the price of the vehicle and said here's the price plus tt&l. So I drive 30 min back to the dealership and he brings me into his office brings a sales manager in and leaves, of course they again try to get me to sign paperwork with $1,800 Mazda preferred plan added on. I drove 3 hours with my two young children from San Antonio to come buy a truck. Prior to making that trip I was given numbers from the Internet director JT. Based off of the numbers I knew I would be able to afford the truck with my credit. After test driving the vehicle the sales associate and used car director Paul kept bringing me numbers with an additional 4k. After Paul finally removed the adds and I was now seeing the numbers that made me drive 3 hours, I let Paul pull my credit. I knew I needed about a 6% rate for it to be in my budget. After submitting my information to the bank without hesitation Paul bring out the worksheet and the call back from Wells Fargo stating the rate is 7.99%. I spent 14 years in the auto industry and I know a Wells Fargo decision has two points built into the rate. When I see the 7.99 I was excited and knew we had a car deal. Paul didn't understand that 2 points were built into the 7.99 and told me if the bank would do 5.99 he would do the deal. Long story short they refused to sell me the truck because I was ok with them holding 2 points. Paul went back on his word and they didn't have to buy the rate down and I agreed to the original numbers I was sent prior to driving 3 hours to your dealership. Paul said he spoke with the General Manager and he said the General Manager said to not sell the truck. The dealership pulled my credit the bank approved me and they wouldn't sell me truck at 9 pm with my two children. I had my car towed in on 2/26 and on 3/8 they called and asked what I needed them to fix again. I told them it was an electrical issue because all my lights were on in the dash even when the key was removed they reattached my battery and let it battery drain for 13 days and when I called to check on the status of the repairs they said I needed a new battery and 2 fuses. After replacing the battery and fuses and picking up my car the same fuses blew. I then had it towed to a smaller local shop. In less than 48 hrs they called me with the real issue. So finally after 2 tows, 10 days of rental cars and 1500.00 spend on service fees. I found out that 2 pins in a 5.00 connector plug had burned out. Every aspect of the sale process was complete negligence, all the way up to Aaron. Messy detail done, issues with finance, service department and the sales floor. This is a very poor operation do not buy a vehicle from here. Aaron admitted to noticing that he knew wires were showing on both front tires and tried to hope a customer wouldn't notice the eminent danger they were willing to put a customer in along with numerous other issues. The service department left broken glass in the cab and under the hood which they did replace a windshield with a huge crack across the front windshield. The service department couldn't even air up tires properly. If you are looking for a subpar product and service, laziness and incompetence and a road hazard that smells like a heavy smoker lives in a used car, look no further. Even the loaner I was given to drive while my vehicle was in service smelled heavily like cigarettes. Hopefully this will not lead to expensive repairs in a year or less. I would give zero stars if I could which I will say this is the second worst experience I have ever had which first place goes to a car I bought in 2005 that the engine blew 3 months after I purchased. Went to this dealership looking for a nice used car since all the new ones are being sold like hot cakes. Found two decent cars with one dealer who was patient and very kind with me until we began negotiating. The price of the used vehicles I was looking at shot up by atleast $6,000 due to bogus "RECON" fees and surcharges. Regular taxes that SHOULD BE 6.25% in Texas were also bloated to high hell and basically made the used car cost more than some new cars. Worst purchasing experience of my life. They tried to take advantage of me everywhere they could. Made the experience horrible and extremely complicated. Gave me a horrible interest rate, even though I have excellent credit, I thought it was normal due to the inflation, and accepted it. When they sent me the contracts to sign (I was buying out of state, they said I needed to pay the entire down payment and sign before arriving) they had increased the interest rate almost 1%, I bet they thought I am a stupid woman that wouldn't notice. They added a clause saying that whatever happened to the car until I picked it up wasn't their responsibility, I completely refused to sign that, the least they can do is take care of the car until I arrived to Texas. They wanted to make me sign that the car was perfect WHEN I HADN'T EVEN SEEN THE CAR. They were forcing me to buy the extended guarantee when I said multiple times no. They are not on your side, they are the typical company that wants to get as much money out of you as they can. I ended up trusting my gut and killing the deal, since I don't want to do business with a company that lies to me and changes the number WE HAD AGREED ON, I have everything in writing. I found a wonderful Mazda dealership in Austin that didn't ask me to sign anything and saved the car for me, and guess what?! I saved $96 per month compared to what greenway mazda offered, that would've been almost $6000 over 5 years. These people made me waste my time and made the process incredible complicated trying to get as much money out of me as possible, they wanted to charge me $800 to bring the car to Austin (when other companies I had spoken to in the past offered to bring it for free!), so I was going to go pick it up, then I saw that they had changed the numbers and the ridiculous clause saying they wouldn't take care of the car. The salesperson a guy by the name of Vincent, who basically screwed me over. They ran my credit before I spoke to the financial team. I started my day at 12.45 pm and left at 9.34 pm. One of the Worst Customer Service Experiences As a first-time Mazda CX-50 owner since October 2023, I arrived at the Greenway dealership on April 27th, 2024, for my second appointment within two weeks regarding an issue with my vehicle's air conditioning. Unfortunately, 6 months owning this vehicle and my experience with the service consultant was very extremely disappointing. The Encounter 1. Arrival: Upon arriving at 9 AM, I grazed the side of a pylon at the base with my vehicle while parking. An elderly consultant approached me as I open my window to explain the AC issue. Instead of listening, he pointed out to me twice about turning my wheels to avoid the cone and seeming more concerned about potential property damage than addressing my reason for being there. 2. Lack of Greeting: The consultant did not greet me upon arrival or introduce himself or thank me for coming in as a returning customer. 3. Poor Communication: As I went inside, he did not clearly indicate where his desk was located as he followed, instead showing his irritated behavior stating, "right here" several times. 4. Impersonal Service: Once seated, he only looked at his computer to verify my information and asked if I had an appointment. 5. Dismissive Attitude: After verifying my appointment and still facing the computer, he asked about the issue but seemed to ignore my explanation that my AC was not cooling properly while I was in the car. He appeared agitated again looking at the computer when I mentioned the previous visit last 2 weeks ago, as he was shaking his head "no" profusely as I spoke. 6. Confrontational Behavior: Being frustrated, he turned to face me by greeting me abrupt by starting over and adamant explained his job responsibilities which was unnecessary as there seem to be tension rising, he firmly stated at the end, he can reschedule my appointment next week despite my request that I have stated my schedule appointment on having the car serviced that day. He then excused himself; then confessing toward his co-worker that he needing to step away. 7. Rigid Process: Upon returning, he sat down to continue printing the work order by shaking his head "no" again. He then presented me the work order and pointed the area to sign and initial the paperwork which I did. He twice insisting his ultimatum to date the paperwork and I stated he can assist by doing that. His immediate reacting was to reject my today schedule work order and reschedule my appointment next week without an explanation, asserting his control over the situation rather than fulfilling his duty to provide a service. Unsatisfactory Resolution As I stated that, "I will speak to his supervisor". I left abruptly before he could respond further, as he was unwilling to provide an adequate service or an explanation. As I was walking out the door, his "reaction and behavior" was to explain to his co-worker as a backup on his story, rather than to stop or try to pacify the situation with an explanation on why he would suggest to re-schedule as he had adequate time before I drove off, if only he stated, "AC technicians is only there on the weekdays" that would be sufficient which happened the last time when I was there for my first appointment 2 weeks ago. Expected Customer Service Standards Customer service personnel should exhibit professionalism, respect, active listening, proper greetings, politeness, understanding of customer issues, adaptability, calm composure, and the ability to de-escalate situations. Unfortunately, this consultant failed to meet all these basic standards. Providing this unsatisfactory experience, I will be leaving poor reviews to warn others in the community about the subpar service at this Mazda Greenway dealership's service department. Their unwillingness to address such unacceptable employee conduct has led me to conclude that returning would be an awkward and likely fruitless endeavor. I would love say that my entire experience has been positive but it unfortunately has not been. The only positive experience I have had is my awesome sales guy Aazan who tried really hard to make sure I was getting what I deserved, but unfortunately it was the back staff who wrong me. I purchased originally a certified pre owned 2023 cx 30 carbon edition with a little over 3k miles on it on 5/30/2024. When I test drove the AC didn't work but I liked the car so much they were willing to fix it. After checking it I was told it was ready the next day I started to drive home and I was maybe 15 minutes into my drive air full blast and I was sweating in the car so I called and was told to bring it back. I hung around the dealership in service for maybe 2 hours before being told that there was a valve that needed replaced the and it was ordered and would be here and ready the following day Saturday. Saturday rolls around and I called in the morning and gave them info and I was told it wouldn't be ready until Monday. Eventually it was a miscommunication that the other service person got me confused with someone else and it was good to go. The Sunday after picking it up I got an error of "in network error" I researched and found it to be a fuse issue that is fairly common even though service said it just needed an update. Then I had an issue with the front and back sensor, the automatic lights and windshield sensors. The car was literally acting possessed. Windshield wipers going like crazy and headlights wouldn't turn on so I had to drive home at night in the dark without lights and fortunately I didn't get stopped or a ticket for it. I went to the dealership 6/13 and demanded either a new car for the same price, same car used similar mileage same price, or cancel sale altogether and someone else gets my business. They put me in a 2024 version and I was told my entire previous car would be paid off and I was set to go. Come to find out later on that they only paid off the "trade amount" and the negative equity was financed into my next purchase and my $5,000 down payment no where to be seen. Moral of the story. These guys are scammers and are not afraid to do what they want. They took advantage of me and I am extremely disappointed in management and the finance manager. I have tried to email and text them and the most I got was "I will get back to you Monday when I am not busy" I would much rather take my business elsewhere where I will not be scammed out of a car. read more
