My mother purchased a gently used Subaru from here 5 years ago and for the past 2 years it has made a horrible clunking and rattling noise at every small bump. Our mechanic couldn't figure out the cause, but ultimately this literally drove her to get a new car because the noise was unbearable. When she went to trade it in the guy at the new dealership said that the Subaru she purchased from Gregoris had been in an accident prior to her owning it and my mom had no idea. Unfortunately my mom didn't ask the dealer at Gregoris if it had been in an accident, and she's not tech savvy enough to do the research herself, and this place completely took advantage of that. There are plenty of trustworthy dealers on LI that treat their customers, regardless of age, with respect. Would not recommend. read more

Just leased a 2021Crosstrek from Gregoris sabaru. We traded in our 2012 nissan altima coupe they said we could only give this amount because the had to take care of 3 things so I took their word only to find out they did nothing to the car and are selling it for double the price they gave me the man who appraised the car did not have the balls to tell me the truth he lied right to my face that he had to fix a few items and he can only give us this price because it's going to cost him money to fix the car you are nothing but a liar and a rat bastard with no balls to tell me the truth I will never ever do business with you again and your service department sucks also try to have the remote start fixed because it did not work and they told me I have to make an appointment the car was 3 days old and I have to make an appointment when I made the appointment the service writer was a total idiot wasted half a day there and nothing was done I will take my business elsewhere. read more

In 2006 I purchased my first Subaru. Jeff Kats was the salesperson who assisted me with my purchase and I remembered how kind and patient he was. Here we are in 2020 and I decided to get an upgrade. I headed back to Jeff for help and was touched by the fact that he remembered me so many years later. This time around I received great customer service from his colleagues as well from Jay Sarasky and Michael Polans. Jay assisted with the paperwork and Michael was very thorough with his explanation of features on the car. I felt comfortable and safe before driving my car off the lot. WARNING! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! WARNING!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I am the owner of a 2012 Subaru Outback. While on vacation in the New York area, my check engine light came on. I suspected a loose gas cap, but the check engine light did not go off even after securing the gas cap. As I still had about 800 miles to drive on my vacation, I thought I'd get it checked out and Gregoris Subaru/Nissan in Valley Stream was closest to me at the moment so I drove there. I arrived at 3:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. As I tried to explain my situation, the 3 service advisors cut me off and told me flatly that their mechanics were about to go home (the service department was supposed to be open until 6pm!) and that they would not be able to check my car until 2 days later. The 3 service advisors did not budge from their seats and made no efforts whatsoever to be helpful, discuss or reassure me regarding my situation. I ended up driving a few miles up the road to AutoZone, where in 5 minutes and at no charge, they plugged into my car's diagnostics and found that it was likely a loose gas cap and not some other major problem. With this reassurance, I continued on my vacation and the check engine light eventually went off. So - Gregoris Subaru/Nissan couldn't take 5 lousy minutes to help out a Subaru owner in some distress while on vacation while Autozone could??!! I found their 3 service advisors to be unfriendly, dismissive, unprofessional, uncaring and rude. My 2 minutes in their office was probably the WORST customer service experience that I can recall in my life (I am in my mid-50s). It makes me wonder what kinds of standards Subaru expects from their dealers and will make me much less likely to purchase another Subaru in the future. Anyone considering this Gregoris Subaru/Nissan should think twice and read additional reviews such as those on DealerRater.com. In early November 2016 I drove my 2017 Subaru Legacy home from Gregoris Subaru in Valley Stream, NY. This was the best automobile buying experience my wife and I have ever had. We were so thrilled about it that I wrote a lengthy letter to the owner of the company. I would like to share parts of this letter (I didn't have enough room for the remainder of the letter). Dear Mr. Richard DeGregoris November 11, 2016 It is will great pleasure that I compose this letter regarding Mr. Jeff Kats, a wonderful person and Subaru sales representative. My wife and I stopped into your Subaru dealership the first week of October 2016 to look at the Subaru Legacy model. We felt very comfortable and relaxed while we viewed the showroom model. As we were doing this we were happy that we were able to go about this at our leisure. Mr. Kats approached us very cordially, with a smile on his face and asked if he could be of assistance to us. We asked him a number of questions that he answered so knowledgeably and courteously. This gave us confidence that we were with a sales representative who was extremely familiar with this car. Mr. Kats invited us to sit with him at his desk. Once seated, Mr. Kats went to obtain a Legacy brochure as we looked at the Subaru recognition awards he had received. When Mr. Kats returned he made a detailed presentation about the vehicle which was so informative and interesting. We had asked him a number of questions that he answered without hesitation but with great confidence. I have been purchasing automobiles for more than forty years and can honestly say that he is the best automobile sales representative that I have ever met. I usually shop a car very extensively and have traveled out of state if necessary to get a very fair price on my purchase. Although I live in Nassau County, my last two car purchases were from NJ and CT. In my heart I knew I wanted to purchase this Legacy from your dealership because of Mr. Jeff Kats. This was due to Mr. Kats being so informative and how he had treated us with such respect, courteousness and friendliness. Since your dealership was the first Subaru dealership we had gone to, I told Mr. Kats that It is always my practice to go to at least one other dealership. I mentioned to Mr. Kats that I would definitely contact him once we went to another Subaru dealer. We then went to the other Subaru dealer. The experience we encountered could not compare to the terrific experience we had at your dealership. The following day we came back to Gregoris Motors and told Mr. Kats of the ordeal we went through at the other dealership. I also shared with him the internet pricing I had done on. It was then that my wife and I informed him that we happily decided to make our Subaru purchase with Gregoris Motors, Inc. Mr. Kats and his associates then went to work to try and "locate" the car we wanted. He said this may take a couple of days and explained the reasons for this. Since we were not in a rush, my wife and I decided to have Mr. Kats place an order directly with the manufacturer. Within three weeks we received a telephone call from Mr. Kats who happily notified us that the car would be arriving at your dealership in a day or two. We were so happy that the car came in so very quickly. Mr Kats asked us when we would like to come in to pick up the car. I mentioned that Wednesday, November 2, 2016 would be a good day. When we met that day Mr. Kats greeted me with his friendly smile and a firm hand shake. He took me to see the vehicle and I must say it looked outstanding. It was all polished and ready to go! We went inside the showroom, sat at his desk and finalized all the paper work which only took a minimal amount of time to complete. This was due to his great organizational skills. I had asked him several questions regarding the Legacy which he answered without any hesitation. He is an individual who does not rush you and encourages you to ask him questions in order for you to be informed about your car. Mr. Kats and I went to my new car and he demonstrated many of the features the vehicle has. He explained them in such a way that I knew their purpose and how to utilize them. He told me that if I have any other questions I should feel free to contact him. This was very important to me. Mr. Kats was nice enough to move the car to the street and smiled at me as he handed me my keys. I set all of my mirrors, adjusted my driver's seat and started up my vehicle. We shook hands again and Mr. Kats said enjoy your Legacy and don't forget to call me if you need me. I then proudly drove my 2017 Subaru home with a smile on my face. I bought a car here years ago, so thought I would go back, big mistake. after searching on line it said they had the car I was interested in, so we made the trip a little further than I really wanted to go. So we walk in the showroom, no one even acknowledges that you are there. Finally some young guy says can I help you, we tell him what we are looking for and the results we found on line, he looked totally confused, then says let me look at what we have. After wondering around for a while he comes back and says we have 1 car, wrong color and style. OK, BIG waste of time, we walk out and will not be back. read more

took the car in for a few recalls which were done but caused a check engine light to pop up two days later. also wanted air conditioner looked at and they calimed there was no issue and it was blowing 40 degree air. brought car to grand prix subaru who fixed the check engine light and replaced a bad compressor. service individuals are lazy and rude. read more

Review for Dealer not Service department: We shopped quite a bit for our first new car and saw our fair share of wheelers and dealers out there. I was pleasantly surprised at Gregoris. They were upfront and honest from the beginning. All of the stereotypes for car dealers were not present here. I had trouble picking up my car because I had an infant at home and they brought the new car to my house to me. The service department gave me a hard time about something but as soon as I called the dealership they intervened and the issue got resolved immediately. read more

Quite possibly the worst customer service. Bought a car there with bumper to bumper warranty. Check engine light came on within 6 weeks of owning the car. Called the service dept and was told I have to drop the car off in the morning Mom- fri only. I explained I work and need to drop off in the afternoon or Saturday. After some back and forth about how without taking a day off I can not drop the car off then. I asked if I could drop it off on Saturday morning. I was told no the only do easy stuff like oil changes on Saturday. Boy am I sorry I bought the car here. Should have known not to buy it here when the sales guy wouldn't even call me back when I was trying to buy the car. What a joke this place is. I took my 6-month old 2017 Forester in for a service today. I had a 9 am appointment and I told the service writer that I needed to be out of the waiting room in good time for an appointment at 11. It took 2 hours to change my oil. WITH an appointment. Nothing but the oil and filter. 2 hours. That is dreadful. The condition of the waiting room was old in 1983. NOT impressive. read more

My rating is in regards to the lack of customer in Gregoris' service department. I had called several times in regards to a passenger air bag recall. My husband called 2 times as well. The fact that they didn't have the part in yet, (we received the notice the beginning of September) is not their fault. The issue I have is the unfriendly women you have to deal with in the service department. Unfriendly, unhelpful and poor customer service skills. Keep in mind, they do not do warranty repair work on Saturdays, too bad to all of us who work a Monday to Friday job! When we found out that they cannot accommodate us on a Saturday, we said we will go to another dealership (even though we purchased the car from them) and the women pretty much said ok, that's fine. They try to make so much money on tradeins. When i Brought in my old car to a different business like star toyota or subaru bayside they offered me more than double little less than why i got offered from this dealership. Ok, the three year lease is coming to an end on my wife's Outback, which we got from Gregoris and surprisingly the same salesman, Jeff, is still there. We found rarely salespeople stay at a car dealership for a long time, that says a lot for Jeff and the dealership, in my mind. Our leased Outback is worth more than the buyout, so I was thinking of buying it. I'm not a fan of SUV's so I'm less than enthusiastic about buying it. Since she's getting a company leased SUV, and we do not need two SUV's, I'm open to replace our Lexus sedan. Jeff said the 2018 cars are vastly improved over our 2015. A major complaint of mine is the high interior noise level of the Subaru's as compared to our Lexuses and Caddy. I test drove the 2018 Legacy Limited with a 6 cylinder engine and was highly impressed with the low interior noise level as well as the upgraded interior appointments - is it Lexus-like, no but it doesn't have a Lexus price tag either [I heard the Lexus dealer we bought three cars from has seriously deteriorated in customer service]. I'll also test drive the Legacy limited with a 4 cylinder engine to compare it to the 6 and possibly save over $2k. We had some issues with the service department, so that's a factor in making up my mind to buy the Subaru or a Lexus or Caddy, yet our past experience with Jeff tends to counterbalance the service department - to a degree but not fully.. read more
