Across from Exchange Place subway station. Feeling cold and hungry after taking photos of the Manhattan skyline, I came in to replenish my energy. Blueberry Muffin: Warm and comforting after reheating, it felt so satisfying to hold in my hands. The cake has a thin, crispy crust on the surface, while the inside is soft, moist, and fluffy; the sweetness was just right and very fragrant. There was a bit of blueberry jam inside, which made it a little sweet. Personally, I think it would be even better if they had a plain muffin! Strong WiFi, decent vibe... wish the music wasn't quite so loud for laptop work. Tried their new matcha with egg yolk syrup and sesame cold foam, super unique flavor combo and surprisingly good! By default, it's supposed to come with oat milk, but the barista rang me up for almond, and when I asked for oat she double-checked like it wasn't already the standard (it's literally on the menu ). Takes forever for mid coffee at best. Order ahead? They might as well mail you the coffee with the pace they work at this store. 4 people behind a counter and it still took 20 minutes to make an order ahead coffee! I stopped going here because of the time it takes them to make things but wanted to give them another shot but boy things have not changed. I'd rather go to another coffee shop in the area atleast at Dunkin I'm not watching the person take the order ahead slip put it on the cup and just leave it there. I came again yesterday at 6:20am and the employees were just walking in, so obviously not opening at 6am like they claim. Came this morning at 7am and they are open. Second in line. I order "a Large Black Coffee with No Room For Cream". She pours a large cup and then puts a ton of cream in, even opened a second container. She handed it to me and I reminded her of my actual order. She then went to pour another cup and ran out of coffee. I'm now waiting for coffee to brew. As I pondered a couple of days ago, "who has this kind of time to wait for a simple cup of coffee?" I visit this location almost daily as I work in the same building. I love that I can use their app to order ahead and bypass the line to pick up my order. Even though I order ahead and rarely have to wait for my order, I get the chance to say hello and thanks to the staff behind the counter. Everyone is friendly, attentive and are extremely professional in their day to day approach. In case you didn't know, they bake on premise and I very much enjoy the blueberry muffins. Freshly made daily, the smell of freshly baked goods is just amazing. In fact I not only enjoy the muffins but the croissants and sandwiches along with the coffee and matcha. You cannot go wrong in coming to this location, it is right in front of the PATH and a short block from the light rail at Exchange Place. Order ahead, drop by pickup and get to where you need to go. What happened to me there (Jersey City location) is so crazy, I can't even explain it. But, essentially, the server was all twisted because the customer ahead of me was a Karen. It was taking forever to get to me, I waited 10 mins before I said something. When I did she lost her shit, yelling at me telling me she wasn't a robot and all kinds of craziness. I'll never go back. Well I should've read the reviews before I came, and I almost didn't leave a review but I was a little surprised by a few things. I ordered an iced cortado, and while there is usually an up charge for oat milk, it was $.95! With a latte, I get that (although a dollar seems to be steep for a non-dairy alternative). With a cortado where there's maybe a splash or two of milk? I was a bit astounded. Plus, this feels frustrating to write, but the cup wasn't fully filled, and the top didn't fit correctly, so when I mixed it around gently in my hand, it splattered everywhere. When paying $5 for a coffee (plus tip because tip your baristas!) one would expect a full cup and a delicious experience. Unfortunately I didn't get this. I will say, the store was clean, bright, and the two people working were perfectly pleasant. I might give it another try and just have iced coffee. read more

We stopped into Gregorys Coffee to grab a drink and wait for a table next door at Kura. I've had Gregorys before, so I was excited that we didn't have to wait at Starbucks. I had a Nitro Cold Brew, which was fine. They didn't have any half and half, which I thought was super weird. Barista was nice and friendly. The entire place smelled of strong cleaner, which I guess is good cause it means they've cleaned, but it also just smelled bad. read more

I always loved this spot for their vegan options, great atmosphere and excellent customer service. On our most recent visit on 10/05/25, me and my girlfriend asked for two vegan deluxe croissants and two coffees with oat milk. We were served by the manager, Martha, who was dealing with a long line of customers from the Jersey City 5K race. Martha was gracious despite the crazy, busy line. While staying at the Hyatt House in Jersey City Gregorys was conveniently located across the street. Although there is also a Starbucks next door decided to give this place a try because I genuinely enjoy a good Latte and let's be honest starbucks is mediocre at best. Really glad I stopped in. I went at 2:30pm on Tuesday. The service here was abysmal--it took 30 minutes to get a matcha latte. There were 10 people that ordered after me and were served and out the door before me. This is not counting mobile orders which clearl has a sep pick up. It also had no vegan cold foam. this was an all around bad experience. read more

Love their coffee and the cranberry walnut scone. Started stopping by here everyday on my commute to work for about a month but recently decided to give up. There's always a line, the employees always avoid eye contact with the customers. Always feel a bit unwelcomed at this spot I must say. I actually started ordering only on the app so that I could avoid speaking to them and feeling like a burden. The other day I was on the train very early in the morning and put in an order 15 mins in advance on the app. They estimated it would take 8 mins. Got there, no other customers in the store to juggle, but still nothing had been made. Waited 5 extra minutes and then it was made, but geez 20 mins to make a drink and no smiles or greetings or farewells, this location has underwhelmed me. Gregorys is one of my all time favorite coffee shops in Jersey City. I love how this location is right on the waterfront and has lots of big open windows. It's a great way to take in some beautiful views while posting up for a few hours of work no matter the season. The interior is very spacious and has lots of tables. I've been in countless times and it's never difficult to find seating. The decor is clean and modern. Lots of succulents, hanging edison bulbs and wood finish tables. Coffee and drinks are always quality. I normally stick to cold brew or a chai latte. The chai latte is so delicious. Sometimes at Starbucks my chai is either too spicy or not flavorful enough. Here it's perfect every time. Lattes are a little pricey at around 5 or 6 bucks, but that's sort of just how the prices are at Gregory's. It feels like a higher end coffee shop experience, and the prices reflect that. The pastry counter is always overflowing with fresh baked goods. The chocolate chip cookie and donut holes are divine. So are the bear claws and the brownies. I mean, could anything from a baked goods counter really be bad? If you are feeling more of the savory route there is also a small menu with sammies and toasts. The views are enough to keep me coming back for more, so it's an added bonus that I can enjoy while sipping on a delicious bevvie in a beautifully decorated space. read more

Such a nice medium roast, full bodied and flavorful. I love when a coffee can stand on it's own without having to be masked by loads of sugary syrups and/or creamers. Also gluten free goodies!!! They have a vast array of choices. Chocolate banana muffin, which were divine, fluffy and dense at the same time. Cranberry coconut scone, delicious and coconuty. And other goodies I haven't tried yet but will sure to stop by again soon. It was alright with us to wait, but there was no way to get the attention of the staff as they were not making eye contact to avoid these types of situations. The location is nice and the overall store is pretty vibe-y and cute. That being said, it's my first time having Gregs and I don't know who's in charge of the menu but the food is incredibly bland. I decided to get a bacon egg and cheese sandwich which goes by the New Yorker in the store. In my head that's like a safe option at any coffee shop cause like.... they're like the easiest thing to get right. I got my sandwich, which was possibly one of the most bland bacon egg, and cheese sandwiches I've ever had. I don't know if it's the bun, but I was severely disappointed. Like how do you mess that up, I don't know BUT I'd rather just go to Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts that have way better sandwiches. The fall oat boy with regular milk and muffin was pretty good though. This place has a very convenient location. It's more of a location sell than anything else. Of course you get the Starbucks right across. I'd argue this place feels a little upscale. I really like the pastries from this place, way less sugary than Starbucks, but it's certainly on the pricey side. For almond toast you pay $8. Sure it's organic almond (not regular peanut butter sauce) with organic strawberries (not banana), it feels healthier but really, $8? It's more of a "I need this before starting my dreadful day while heading down to the subway" or a "I can finally enjoy something that I choose after a dreadful day" scenario. read more

Though I must pass 7 to 8 different coffee shops during my commute to my office in FiDi, including a Gregorys down by Wall Street, the Exchange Place Gregorys is where I have my first cup of the day. Although they get quite busy at times, the team there is always pleasant, hard working and professional. The Line Supervisors do a terrific job of managing the team, as the baristas there are proficient and attentive to customer needs. I really enjoyed this place. I love that they offer vegan options! It's very easy to find something to eat for everyone. My complaint about this place is that for 2 days in a row their ovens weren't "warmed up" yet. On Friday I came at 7:45am and Saturday was around 9am. I think that for business people or travelers who might be up early they should have their oven ready to go by 5am! I wasn't able to get hot steel cut oats which was super annoying. First time...trying out instead of usual Starbucks and saw once you download the app they offer A FIRST TIME FREE coffee ..front checkout was not aware of this offer and new app experience...and was clueless about what i was talking about which delivered a poor confusing experience. And then just offered hot drip coffee and i was like you can only get drip coffee and then i think the manager explained quickly in morning rush no you can get anything. Which was a relief then to initial bit disappointing first experience and walked out the door and missed the huge step drop in front whoa almost cracked my neck what a liability for the store.. please post some signs of something ...thank god coffee tastes good which is the whole reason for the initial visit.
