Gregory's Coffee is my go to whenever I feel like taking a coffee break and getting out of the office to grab some decent coffee. This Jersey City location is located right by the PATH train and around office buildings so you best bet they have a busy rush hour when commuters are rushing in to grab that cup of coffee before work. However, service is great, workers are efficient and the place is clean. Haven't had a problem with the accuracy of my order and I'm able to pay through the Gregory's app just by scanning my QR codes. There are plenty of fresh baked goodies on the counter in case you need something sweet to complement that coffee. If you pop in around lunch team, they have vegan options for your quick bite and other healthy options floating around the menu. Outlets are located all around the coffee shop to charge your laptop and other electronic devices so you'll never have to worry about running outta battery. And the icing on the sundae? Baristas need to learn how to treat customers. Some of them are very rude. Mind you, I come here every day. It's Monday afternoon and the youngest looking girl was extremely rude for no reason. I ordered a few drinks had it delivered They got all the drinks wrong I contacted them they apologized and said they will make it right they asked for my information thinking they probably are going to send me what I was supposed to get however I never heard from them a week later I text them for an update and in short they tell me to contact Uber they have no customer service also the drinks are watered down if you wanna get real drinks I found an excellent place I believe it's called juicy city they are the best and better priced I've now getting from them for a month every single order is on the T also they have fresh ginger shots free with every order amazing read more

After walking the Jersey City waterfront, I stopped at this coffee shop. Although it did look very nice, for the price of the speciality coffees that I ordered, it wasnt the greatest. I did order sweet tasting coffee flavors (honey badger & mocha), but I still didnt think it was anything spectacular. Just average tasting. Maybe the regular coffee tatse better, but for spending $8 to $9 for two iced coffee drinks, I was expecting better brewed coffee. If you're on your way to Northern NJ via the PATH and need to change trains to the Lite Rail, try to make a pit-stop and instead of going into Starbucks (which is nearly ubiquitous), take a chance on Gregory's Coffee. They've been around for about four years now and are a good alternative to the aforementioned coffee empire. Their bakery and coffee drinks are not too different in flavor and sizing (other than employing Small-Medium-Large in lieu of Starbucks' stylized sizes). You can easily enjoy a New Yorker (bacon, egg, and cheese on a brioche) or a Deluxe (your sausage, egg, and cheese alternative). For the vegan minded, they've got the Avo which is an avocado wrap and all of them are delicious. A big plus? Seating... loads of it and all near or porting phone chargers. This location has spectacular views of lower Manhattan, so much you almost wish it offered alcohol after 5:00 pm. A minus? No Apple Pay yet. Even so, you can tell a lot of thought has gone into Gregory's Coffee as a place to socialize or relax while enjoying a hot fresh cup and a light pastry. Starbucks--Pay attention. One thing that stands out to me about Gregory's coffee is the view is spectacular! The staff is very friendly they have an extensive menu with several things that are custom. I did get a Hall & Oates it was delicious although a little strong for me. I got a lean green smoothie and a bag of coffee beans to go. The bathroom wasn't all that all that clean but that was okay. The entire store was clean, they have a bakery case with a good selection, and plenty of sitting indoors and out... definitely return! read more

Ordered via chase pay ahead of 2-3 minutes ahead time and the barista was just finishing up the drink as I entered. Coffee is nice and smooth. I preferred it a little stronger but it's still good. Located just steps from the PATH overlooking the New York skyline, this location is truly a gem for Jersey City. Service is prompt and friendly, the cafe is never very crowded, and the views are simply unparalleled. Coffee and food is about average for the chain (their carrot cake is to die for), and the location and free WiFi make it a great place to get work done as well. Plenty of plugs (power and USB) at tables. And the public bathroom here isn't too shabby either. Whenever I'm in the area I make sure to skip the Starbucks and come here. I've been to several Gregory's before and this is probably the worst location I've been to. The person taking our order was so incredibly rude when I asked if I could replace milk in my drink for almond milk. When she told us they were out of marshmallows for their holiday drink called "toasted marshmallow", she was impatient in waiting for a response and gave so much attitude. Neither drink tasted fresh - the coffee tasted old and bitter in both drinks. I was hoping this would become our regular stop since it's so close to the PATH, but I won't be coming back to this location after today. read more

Yup, this is still one of my favorites in the area! Tried their Green tea worth peppermint and it was refreshing! The vegan scramble was good too. I really wanted to like Gregory's, and I just can't do it. The first time I came here, I tried the The Skinny sandwich and my friend tried the John Ham. Both of us thought that our sandwiches were overpriced and flavorless. I know, Gregory's is a chain (albeit a smaller one), so what did I expect? However, McDonald's is a chain and has a $2 Egg McMuffin deal every day of the week, and the Egg McMuffin is delicious, so this place being a chain has nothing to do with the truly subpar food it serves. I also tried the Smashing Pumpkin drink, which I thought had an odd taste - I think it's the cashew milk that is used. Despite a less-than-stellar initial experience, I decided to give Gregory's another try and just get an iced mocha - an espresso drink that is served at almost every coffee shop in the country, so pretty tough to mess up. I did a mobile order and went to the store about 10 minutes later to pick up my drink. I arrive to find out it hasn't been made because I ordered it with oat milk, which they are out of so they waited to ask which alternative I wanted. I hate cashew and almond milk, so I went with whole milk - sigh - paid a dollar extra for oat milk and ended up with one that is normally free in my drink. I've always thought it was ridiculous to charge for non-dairy milk to begin with being that many people have dairy allergies and/or are lactose intolerant, let alone an extra dollar, and then to not even have it in stock is just bad service. It shouldn't even be an option to order if it's out of stock, and other mobile apps would block you from ordering it if that was the case. Just my luck, I guess. There are just too many better coffee places in Jersey City to keep returning to a place that has fooled me twice now. Sorry Gregory's! :( read more

My friend codenames this "Hipster Cafe", and yes there is a bit of hipster vibe to Gregorys, but I'll take it over Starbucks any day. The coffee is good, strong, well made, and the baked goods are pretty fantastic. I'd recommend their Chex version of the rice krispy treat, its not overly sweet and I'll take Chex over Rice Krispies any day. They're cinnamon buns are pretty solid too. The staff here are probably the highlight. They're courteous, nice, welcoming, and I think that's what sets this apart from other coffee options in the area. Sometimes, the smile that comes with your coffee is worth it. (and the Chex Krispy) read more

As a regular customer here (3-5 times a week), I really wanted to give a 5-star review but there is def some improvement needed here. Pros: it's a convenient place to quickly grab coffee to go without too much sugary drinks. There is an Asian girl who is super sweet during weekday. And I usually get their flat white and latte, and recommend their caramel macchiato and lover? (a seasonal drink around Valentines). Cons: Their food is below average and the other espresso drinks can be a miss sometimes. Also there is a girl at the counter on weekend...super rude...I probably would skip and go to Starbucks instead just for that. read more

While I like the ambiance and the service, I can't say I care for their coffee which tastes very acidic and is over priced. I went in recently for a large cold brew coffee. The iced coffee wasn't listed on the item boards so I wasn't sure of the price but I figured it would be about the price of Starbucks Venti. Boy was I wrong! Not only was their 'large' the size of a Starbucks grande, but the price for the 'large' was $4! I wouldn't have minded the price if the coffee was good, but I gagged drinking it bc of the sourness/acidity. They have a better selection of baked goods compared to Starbucks and the prices are comparable. The portions are quite big, too (their pound cake slices can feed two). Unfortunately I'm more of a coffee drinker instead of sweets craver so I wouldn't be visiting the place again. read more

Nice open airy (and hipster) coffee shop conveniently located across from Exchange Place path and a few steps away from the light rail. They offer coffee (obviously), healthy smoothies and snacks, carrot pound cake (really good), muffins, etc. A bit expensive but I would choose this place over the other places around the area because they have plenty of seating. Great for studying or doing work but bring earphones because the music and people talking around you can be a bit loud. Took off one star because they don't have a way to heat up their pastries.
