More like 3.5. This is one of those chains throughout the city that have quite a few locations, but the coffee is fine, maybe even good, but not great. I will give them one thing that other places don't, however, and that is that they have an extensive cold brew menu with different flavors and interesting combinations. If you're cold brew fan, I would highly recommend coming here and checking it out. I can't speak to the quality of the cold brew since I don't drink it often, but I think it's super fun that they have things like cold brew flavored with lavender and such. That was the drink I got, and it was just OK. I like a cold brew pretty much plain flavored though.

My go to spot for getting coffee near my office! I normally order on the app but sometimes will order at the counter. The baristas are always nice and the drinks always taste great! If you also need to grab a bite to eat, try their breakfast sandwiches or the overnight oats! So satisfying.

Came to this spot early morning after shopping around in the area and absolutely loved it! Their lattes are delicious, but the food is what really stood out. We got the spicy avocado toast, the deluxe sandwich, and the turkey sausage bites. The sausage is so well made and the spicy avocado had a nice kick with the habanero oil. The indoor seating is vaccinated only which I really appreciated. Additionally, the staff is super friendly and jazzed up which made my morning. I will definitely be returning!

Cheers!

Great spot - service was friendly and quick, coffee was great, New Yorker breakfast sandwich was simple and delicious. Glad I took a little walk from the hotel in the morning and got to check the place out. Enjoyed it and would absolutely pop back over.

Gregory's Coffee at 551 Madison is a convenient location for a coffee that's near places I do business. I love their coffee and one of a kind pastries. They prepare all their pastries unlike most coffee shops. It's not the typical coffee shop in my eyes. They have a neighborhood family vibe wherever you visit one of their locations. If you're tired of the bigger chain coffee shops I recommend you visit Gregory's Coffee. Take note this particular location is closed on weekends. At least it was the last time I went.

Fantastic quality coffee!!! Coffee tastes great and properly roasted unlike other commercial coffee shops that burn their coffee during the roasting process and call it "normal"

This place offers a nice variety of pastries, coffee, and smoothies. This is a nice place to work as it seems to be more of a quiet area. The service is ok.

I love this location of Gregory's Coffee! My coffee is always prepared in a timely manner and the staff are friendly and accommodating to whatever modification you may need. I recommend people come here!

Banana cake and charcoal latte

This is a clean and pleasant Gregory's location with fast staff and plenty of outlets, not to mention good WiFi. It's got six small tables and it gets so busy, so it'll be tricky to find space to sit. It's also a much smaller Gregory's than usual, and I don't think they have a bathroom, so it's not the type of place you want to lounge around in for a while. I got the charcoal latte made with almond milk, and I actually didn't enjoy it. Just didn't taste good. This was the first time I didn't enjoy a G latte. I'd just steer away from that one! I did also share a banana cake with a friend here, and that's always a winner. You can't go wrong with a thick, fluffy, juicy, fresh slice of that. The pastries are always fantastic, and some of the best around. Gregory's will always be one of my favorite cafes around. The staff is always friendly and efficient, and the coffee is solid!

I don't normally like Latte but their soy latte is pretty good. Like, I can have another one.

I'd actually passed by this place multiple times but had no idea it was a cafe. This shop itself is more of a grab-and-go, but it might still take a while since all drinks are whisked and made to order. There isn't really space for a line to form inside, so you may need to wait outside to order (there's also a bit of a lack of room to wait for your drink once it's ordered). My strawberry matcha came out to $9.25 total, which is pretty pricey, so I expected a lot. In total, it took me around 10-ish minutes to get my drink with about 4 people in front of me. At first it took a while for our orders to get taken since the two employees were focused on getting drinks out ASAP, one person was preparing the syrups and milk, and the other was making the matcha. The matcha itself had a nice green color. I've had many strawberry matchas prior to this, and based on my experience, this place was alright. The strawberry syrup was nice and not too sweet, but I wish there was a bit more flavoring or more of it, as after two sips I couldn't taste the strawberry at all. Overall, it's a nice shop with cute trinkets around and their own products they sell, like matchas and tea sets. However, for $9, it was a lot for what the drink offered in my opinion.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! FYI - there are two unisex restrooms in the rear for customers to use with really cute wallpapers too.

We ordered potted rose milk tea to share, Dubai affogato and Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crêpes Cake. We came on a Friday around 4pm. Originally I wanted to try the strawberry matchamisu, however, was told that it sold out. What a bummer. The rose milk tea came with a themed pot and cups which is really cute. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
