Matto Espresso's delicious, refreshing Pistachio Cold Brew with Oat Milk plus (yum) heated Sun Dried Tomato & Mozzarella Ciabatta with Pesto
    Mike R.

Love Matto Espresso! It's where you can get an inexpensive drink or small bite! Recommend you get the app to order, where some items can cost as low as $3! Enjoyed this Murray Hill location now for the first time, but have frequented their other spots and can't wait until a day when I'll live closer to one! This location has ledge and stool seating inside, if you want to briefly park yourself while you enjoy your order. Matto has been expanding featured items with Pistachio and have enjoyed in the past their Pistachio Muffin. To add, Matto was the first places I saw Dubai Chocolate, before it became so ubiquitous that Walmart is trying to get into the act, featuring Lindt's version in their stores. If you're asking yourself "Who knew?" what to offer to drink and/or eat absolutely delicious, quick, and affordable, then my answer is Matto Espresso knew and still knows! So this time, tried Matto's Pistachio Cold Brew with Oat Milk plus a heated, savory Sun Dried Tomato & Mozzarella on a Ciabatta, which has also fresh Basil and Arugula. The friendly barista greeted me and everyone else as they entered! He also served my order quickly. The Pistachio Cold Brew was refreshing, and I'd order both fantastic items again! Equally as good (if not better) than anything at the overhyped Starbucks and a much better value! Matto is awesome! Recommend you check Matto Espresso out! Looking forward to my next trip to one of their locations!

Checked this place out as I was anxious to try something different & new on my way to a food fest. The ambiance was quiet, light music in the background, but the staff were friendly. It was quite small inside but the space was really nice. I got the banana date latte which was pictured at the door. I truly enjoyed it, tasted the dates which I loved. All of the other flavors were also present. I would recommend this but if I'm nearby again I'll check out a few other things on their menu that sounded tasty.

Excellent latte. Very affordable prices for both food and drinks. A very underrated spot!

I think this cafe is very efficient in the fact that they have a $3 menu which is offered in their app. My coworker told me about it and i ordered a chai tea and a muffin. was this the most delicious muffin and chai tea i've had...no. but for $3 in a rush i can't complain

Matto Espresso East 40th Street Yelp Thank You Thursday! I'm a huge fan of the their coffee and pastries. It's budget friendly! This is just one of the many locations I've visited over the years. The employees are always clean and the atmosphere is clean. They're great at keeping the customers moving in and out with very little wait time. Thanks for your hard work!

I dislike knowing that this place exists. It's a real problem for my "hot girl summer" vibe. I recently tried their truffle brownie and oh.. my.. goodness. Instant addiction. Soft, dense and light all in one bite. It looks like cardboard but trust me and just give them your money. I will be back!

Is there seating available within the store or is it a standing-coffee shop?

They have a few bar stool seats but it is mainly a grab and go coffee shop.

The Mango and Pistachio looked so realistic and mirrored the flavors perfectly. I love the size of their cakes which are perfect to share with a group of 4. I indulged in their Black Sesame Mochi Cake and Blueberry Chiffon Cake which both have the fluffiest sponge cake base, a fluffy vibrant cream, and fresh ingredients and fruit. Give their drinks a try too. I enjoy their matcha here! The Traffic Lights is a strawberry matcha with a mango cream top. And I also tried their Black Sesame Latte but substituted the espresso for matcha and loved this customized pairing. FYI, there is no bathroom!

Finally decided to try this place after walking by it for years. I refused to try this in the past,…read morebecause I didn't like how many items they put on display. It felt like items weren't made with care and mass produced at a factory or something. I went 10 minutes before they closed and there was still 10+ of each dessert. I'm not convinced that they will dispose of them. Even if they do, it means they didn't do a good job in forecasting demand especially after being in business for multiple years. I ordered mango and yuzu. Both were too sweet and had one dimensional flavor and textures, not refreshing per their stated flavors. Even if their appearances take effort, they don't look pretty enough for me to forgive what goes in my mouth. I'm used to having patisseries with many layers and elements. Mango's sponge probably only took up 20% of the bottom, because I barely had bites of it. Most of my bites didn't have any. I didn't like how liquid the filling was. It didn't exactly ooze out but just melted into a puddle in my mouth. Yuzu looks pretty with the pink and yellow glaze, but it didn't go with the realistic fruit theme. I chose it for the flavor combination which is strawberry, yuzu, and guava. This was slightly better in terms of flavor variety in the mouth. The flower on top had a weird off putting flavor. The bottom crispy rice apparently is supposed to be chocolate but it came out plain. It was tasteless anyway, so not effective in terms of flavor or texture.

I heard they have a good rainbow cookie! I left with 8 rainbow cookies and 1 slice of coconut cake. I schlepped them on the L, then the C, and all the way to the UWS. I put the box in the refrigerator and sampled the goods a little later. The rainbow cookies are fine but the coconut cake is where it's at! It's 3 layers with thick icing and lots of coconut. I'll be back and I'm in love.

When we went, it wasn't busy so we were greeted and helped immediately. The staff was nice and helpful despite what other reviews said. They have so many options of cheesecake flavors but I just wanted the plain. They also have other desserts and when I saw the cherry butter cookies I had to get some. Everything was delicious and it held up very well with our travel back to Koreatown area and the flight home to Florida. I have a core memory of cheesecake that was crust less from my childhood that my mom used to get and keep in the freezer. I've been searching for that unique flavor and this is it! I finally found it. They have seating where you can dine there as well as some tables outside. Very easy to find and beautiful building. Highly recommend!

I had to run to work after an appointment so I ordered for takeout. The person taking my order was friendly. I opted for the Lumberjack and a black cold brew. I received the drink very quickly, with a short wait for the sandwich. While waiting, one member of the staff stocking up supplies on the side started chatting with me and then she offered to check up on my sandwich. She came out with it shortly thereafter. She was very friendly and helpful. The sandwich held up well during my 15-minute commute to the office. It is a really indulgent sandwich, with each bite revealing the sweetness and butteriness of the maple crueller, the saltiness of the thick cut bacon, and the savoriness of the cheese and the eggs as the yolks popped. I sipped the cold brew in between bites to cut the richness. It was a very satisfying meal. The Lumberjack is not something I would recommend you eat every day, but it's good as an occasional treat. In the past I've ordered lunch from Daily Provisions via delivery (the "Chefy" salad and the chicken milanese with arugula salad are my favorites), but I might start adding other breakfast sandwiches to the mix.

I had never heard of the place before, but I was happy to give it a try -- and I'm so glad I did. From the moment you walk in, the experience feels special. The store has two beautiful double doors that create such a grand entrance, and once inside, you immediately feel the energy. The place was bustling with people, and everyone seemed happy and excited -- from the customers to the team behind the counter and the baristas. The cookie case was overflowing with so many amazing choices that it was hard to decide! I ended up getting the Rocky Road cookie, a Double Chocolate Chip cookie, a Two Chip Chocolate Chip cookie, and a blueberry muffin to enjoy for breakfast the next morning. The service was absolutely impeccable, and everyone I interacted with was warm, friendly, and delightful. When I got home, I had half of the Rocky Road cookie with a cup of tea, and it was incredible. The cookie was large and chunky but still perfectly enjoyable -- not heavy or overwhelming. It literally melted in my mouth. The chocolate was rich and smooth, and every bite was just delicious. The next morning, I tried the blueberry muffin, and it was just as impressive. It was light and airy, not overly sweet like many blueberry muffins can be. It truly felt like a breakfast pastry. The blueberries tasted fresh and burst with flavor in every bite. I will definitely be back for more cookies. This was such a wonderful find, and I'm so happy my coworker introduced me to this place!
