I saw and heard many great things about this place so I was super excited to check it out. The interior is small and cute. I know for a fact that on weekends it's probably packed. I came on a Friday around 1pm so we had the place to ourselves. The staff Is really friendly and very accommodating. My main issue with this place was just my order. I think I just have a very high bar when it comes to challah French toast. The French toast I ordered just seemed a little on the bland side. The eggs I ordered were really good though. My lady ordered the smokey Sammy with tots. The tots here are really good but again I felt like I've had a better breakfast Sammy elsewhere. Other than that the food here is CHEAP! We came in early on a Sunday and happy to get seated quickly. Mrs. U. ordered a Smokey Sammy on english muffin and I got a BYO omelet. She enjoyed the Sammy but might get a bigger piece of bread next time -it was almost too much. My veggie omelet was very good, side of scrapple was almost done enough -I like 'em crispy. Our server was friendly and checked on us often. GK is a modest space, they can seat about 20 and it's quite cozy when busy - that's about 30-40 minutes after opening. It's located near I-76 exit - so it's the perfect place to start (or end) your morning at the 'yunk. So why not just leave everything to Greg. Even though this dinner is very small, the food portions is Huge. I always enjoy a breakfast that is clean and not greasy. Greg's food is prepared just like I like it. The french toast (2 Challah bread slices) was nice and thick. I like the fact they offer real maple syrup (out of stock at the moment). The menu expanded a lot from last time I was here. There's a lot more options, and there's a lunch menu! The restaurant is the same. Tiny space set up for groups of 2 or 4. Same friendly service. Very prompt. This place still fills up before 8:30 I ordered the pork brekky bowl. From the last time I ordered here, there's less tots and more egg/fillings. The tots are still perfect. The same goes for the brekky bowls that have a layer of the best tater tots I have even eaten as the base of the bowl. They are perfectly seasoned and are all crispy. Came in and were told the wait would be 30 mins which is fine, then the cook told us we needed to get out if we already put our name in because there wasn't room for us to wait inside. So we ( four year old in tow) outside into the chilly rain and walked to a coffee shop. Unfortunately it is closed temporarily for a renovation. However, when I was there the food has always been delicious and the waiting staff has always been extremely welcoming. Greg's is a nice local spot which made me feel like I was walking in to my local spot in California. Friendly staff and a nice selection of dishes we went for the omelette with taters and toast. Egg white omelette was fluffy and full of spinach, mushroom, onions and bacon. It was a very good portion as were the tots. The tots were my favorite part of the meal. Super crispy and wonderfully brown outside shell with a tender and not greasy inside. It is like the Lay's potato chip slogan "bet ya can't eat just one" and you cannot. Just great! I had a side of the hash which was a little disappointing as it was just mashed up taters and some chunks of corned beef cubes. I would skip this one in the future as it's really redundant considering you get any meat you want and tots with your breakfast. I did like the Cholula Hot Sauce provide as well as Sriracha and Tabasco. The multi-grain toast was very good and hearty and toasted perfectly. We had been once before, so I like being able to have multiple visits before a review. It's a small, diner style restaurant with a limited menu. We've always enjoyed our meals, though. I went with a western omelette with cheese, tater tots, and toast. My wife had a special breakfast bowl; tater tots topped with scrambled eggs, cheese, salsa, black beans, and sour cream. Because it's a small place the food can take a little longer, but it comes out fresh and hot. What I like about the omelette is they cook/brown the ham, peppers, and onions a little first and they're incorporated into the eggs, not just put on top and then folded over. read more

There was usually a long wait during popular times on weekends, but we stopped by close to their closing time at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon after running some errands. The server welcomed us warmly even it was close to their closing time. I was surprised that the entire menu is at such fair prices. You won't be able to find a brunch spot like this center city. We got the Beef Brekky Bowl ($7) and the omelet ($6). The Brekky bowl contains 2 eggs, one type of meat over tots. The omelet has three eggs, and as much variety of ingredients as you would like. One page menu with a decent selection of staple items for breakfast on the front and lunch on the back. Weekly specials are always posted if you're interested in stepping out of your routine. My fiancé loves the "Many-Oink omelette" too. The dining is rather small, which I don't mind. Depending on what time you're dining you may have a wait but they text alerts when tables are ready for you while you can walk Main st or stop by the record shop. Who doesn't love tots? Everyone does, so be sure to stop here! Greg's Kitchen is a great brunch in Manayunk with an affordable menu. I have been here multiple times and have never been let down. I always get the brekky bowls! They are only $6 and super filling. I got the sausage, egg and cheese brekky bowl and then I also tried the Havarti brekky bowl with egg whites, pesto mayo and tomatoes. While I think I'll stick with the traditional one, Greg's is always making a special menu which always has fabulous options. The only suggestion I have is to come early if you're coming on the weekend. I try and get here before 10:30 because there is ALWAYS a line here.
