It's a nice addition to Nanticoke as a much needed restaurant. I hope it stays. The menu is a nice size with lots of options and some nice specials too. Meatball app was good Parm was good Marsala was good Shrimp were ok. A bit pricey for what you got. I was hoping for more lump crab in the stuffing and less deviled taste read more

Good service and friendly, but the seafood is over cooked and gummy. I wouldn't return for the seafood. Not a lot to select from on the menu but I would return for drinks and maybe appetizers. read more

I was looking forward to Grico's as other restaurants of the same owner are very good. Quantity was decent for the price but the meals taste and presentation were not much above average. I ordered fish and it had a strong fishy order when delivered. The wait staff was average and appeared inexperienced but I only mention that to set the appropriate expectations. I understand it's difficult to get help and I do applaud anyone working rather than collecting! I'll probably try it again as everyone is entitled to an off night but I was disappointed. read more

Our "gang" came here on Friday, 12.02.21, 2 days after opening night. We were so excited to try something new as our area Nanticoke/Shickshinny is SORELY lacking dining options and we had great hopes. We had dined only one time at the old Guiseppes which we felt was overpriced for the quality of the meals. One of our usual friends that frequently dines with us opted not to come out with us at this time. His belief was that they would need several weeks to "work the bugs out". I, however, was hopeful that being there early on would guarantee freshness of food and attentiveness of service!! Some of had appetizers. The oyster Rockefeller I hear was quite good and the raw oysters were very fresh and not a bad price, although they need some lemon wedges served alongside the mignonette. Three of our guests had the shrimp stuffed with crabmeat, some chose rice, some chose French fries. At around $28 for the entree, it was good. Served hot and fresh, the French fries were fresh and "meaty", the rice, meh, its rice. One guest had salmon with raspberry lime sauce and rice. They said the fish was good. It appeared a bit over done for my liking, but our guest enjoyed it. Another of our guests had a seafood fradiavlo. He complained it was supposed to have calamari in it and it was sparse on the other fishes. He said the flavor was "okay". Last guest had the veal special. The description was fabulous but the actual entree left something to be desired at $32. The diner of this said he was hugely disappointed as it wasn't much better than one might get in a diner. The service was fair. The waitresses were trying their best and were pleasant and attentive but we waited close to an hour to wrap things up and get checked out. Also, a few of the guests were rumbling that it took way too much time to get the salads. Was perhaps an hour or more after our order was put in. Another comment, the music in the restaurant was blaring and all the wrong type for this type of restaurant. It was fine for a sports bar, but one would expect, soft background music to dine by. We understand this restaurant is now owned by the same fellow that owns many others in the area. I've said this once and I will say it again, he needs to dine at Cafe Toscana in Wilkes-Barre to see how a restaurant is "done right" in our area. All in all we felt there is lots of room for improvement and we may return in the Spring to see if improvements have been made. read more

I've been here occasionally since it opened, and it's always a mixed bag. First time was pretty good, second time mediocre, but last night was just disappointing. We sat at the bar, as we always do, and started with a bottle of Cava (we were celebrating). I honestly think the bartender was doing the best she could, but the place was practically empty, and I know it's tough to keep a good attitude in an empty restaurant. The staff was completely different from the last time we were there, so there are obviously issues. Food wasn't great, I think there was probably about 1/4 cup of olive oil in my pasta dish, arancini was left in the fryer too long, the chicken francaise was pretty good, but why only French fries or Basmati rice as a side?? At an Italian restaurant??? Cheers to our bartender, because I know she didn't have much to work with and was doing the best she could. We probably won't be going back though. read more

I had the shrimp with crab and was underwhelmed. The shrimp was a bit overcooked and I think $28 for 4 stuffed shrimp is a bit overpriced in this area. My husband had the chicken Marsala and did not care for it at all. It had no flavor. I'm giving 2 stars for the house salad, the potatoes and zucchini that came with the meals. 4 of us went on a Saturday night and were seated right away. We planned on coming here for about a month based on the menu we saw online. We were seated right away, got our initial drinks, and food order in. From there it went straight down hill. The service was AWFUL it honestly was the slowest I've ever experienced anywhere. After you get one drink you have to track people down otherwise you'll never get another one. It took almost 20 minutes to get three salads, we thought they may have forgotten about them. One person ordered wings which were cold. Two other people got rice as a side and the rice was hard and crunchy. The sauce for my Fra Diavolo was bland at best and the middle of it was cold. I'm guessing they must microwave everything and forgot to heat it completely. If you are looking to go out for a good meal in the area, I'd skip this place unless you want to be thoroughly disappointed. read more

My Grandparents went to the original Grico's on the third Saturday of the month, every month, for over 30 years. Our family went to Grico's for any celebration, holidays, and, in addition to my Grandparents, we went there at least monthly for dinner. The food was always delicious and the service was ALWAYS impeccable. A friend came in from out of town and wanted to go someplace nice. Grico's came to mind. When I saw they opened near where I live l was quite excited, we need a good place in this area. Unfortunately, Grico's South missed the mark. Greeted by a hostess with a bad attitude who spoke at a whisper, she pointed us to our table. I had a reservation for a table in the bar. When I asked about the seating, hostess informed me "people came in I guess." When we sat we were near the door which kept sticking open on a night when the temps were in the teens. Hostess watched me get up and shut the door 3 times. Another table came in and had their drinks and dinner order in while we still had 2 glasses of water and no order after 15 minutes. I asked the hostess for a different table as it was too cold and I didn't want to get up every time the door opened. She mumbled something I couldn't hear. A waitress overheard and moved our table. After 20 minutes my drink arrived but the other drink did not do to having to stir the martini. Our waitress was very nice as she informed us what wasn't available, basically everything we were going to order. This was 7pm on a Saturday, even the specials weren't available. After a rethought, and being quite discouraged at this point (second drink still hadn't arrived) we ordered calamari and crab stuffed shrimp with rice to split. The calamari looked like it was frozen from a bag, was served with sour cream (?) and had no flavor. The rice was hard and flavorless, the shrimp undercooked and rubbery. The French Onion soup was good. I was embarrassed as I had spoken so highly of Grico's and memories I had from going there. Money was lost on the side of the restaurant due to lack of product and delays in ordering. Grico's South is most definitely not the original. Maybe a nice spot to stop for a drink, just don't request your martini stirred! read more

Raw oysters & bolognese get 10/10, the calamari gets a 6/10. Caesar 7/10. (No anchovies available). Not the vibe/ambiance of Grico's in Exeter. Chalk it up to unrealistic expectations. The lighted sign on wheels out from is down at the heels and a bit tacky. The prints on the wall look like something from an old Olive Garden and could use a change that fits more with Rob Friedmans other swell eateries. The music was country western and far too loud. Even after asking for it to be lowered it crept back up just as loud within twenty minutes. A faux pas that will keep me away for awhile. If I'm spending $125-$175 for dinner for two, I'm hopeful that the ambiance and vibe are part of what I'm paying for. I know it's new but first impressions are hard to disrupt. read more
