So spacious, both inside and outside. They have an extensive menu for both coffee and matcha options. I love the decor on the inside. I got a banana matcha and it honestly tastes like banana bread in a matcha form. I'd give it a 7/10, personally, was a bit too sweet for me. The other thing is that by the end of my time there (was there to do some work) it got hot at the end... barely felt any ac in there as the day went on.
This is my 2nd time trying this spot and I thought it was just ok both times. The first time I got a matcha latte and thought it was average, so I wanted to give this cafe another try and see how their coffees were. We tried the Madagascar vanilla latte and the einspanner. Both were decent but I wish the coffee had a stronger flavor. I do like how there is a lot of seating, but on the day we were studying there it was very hot and felt like there was no AC.
Very spacious location. Great for anyone who needs to do work/study. The double matcha has a great earthy taste. We went 50% sweet based on the recommendation of the barista since we do not like sweet drinks and it was perfect! Pistachio matcha was 7/10 Personally the flavors don't mesh well but overall wasn't bad.
I stumbled upon Grid Coffee this weekend and was glad I did. Grid is located in the Target plaza off Bristol, tucked into the far side of the plaza, on the opposite side of the lot from the EV Chargers. I liked the industrial vibe of the interior, with a ton of open seating available. The place felt very "no frills", which I didn't mind. Staff was quick and got down to business with serving drinks, which I didn't mind either. I tried a blueberry matcha latte and a blue lavender latte and both were delicious and well made. I also tried their cinnamon roll which was solid too. Overall, this spot is a great coffee option if you're in the area. I definitely will be back whenever I need a drink while I charge my car.
The last time I came here was half a year ago & I noticed the matcha was not as strong or flavorful as I remembered. Since then, their quality has definitely gone downhill :-( The banana matcha lacked flavor while the banana hojicha had barely a hint of hojicha. The cream tops were delicious but required a LOT of mixing for the drinks to taste ok overall. I haven't been here for awhile partly due to the growing crowds & wonky wifi. It's a popular work friendly cafe & their wifi has a limit of how many people can join so there have been a few times where I couldn't connect during work hours. For a Saturday afternoon, it was fairly empty so that tells you everything you need to know. Seating used to be a struggle on weekends... Super unfortunate as I thought things were looking up for them when they upgraded their matcha :') Seems like they switched back to their old powder
Was in the area and saw that a new coffee shop had opened up. The inside is massive with a lot of seating which consisted of small backless stools, some benches and tables. It was very minimalist in design and didn't seem to comfortable. They specialize in match and espresso drinks. I went with a pistachio latte and my friend went with a cookie butter latte. Pistachio latte ($7.75) - I enjoyed the strong and bold taste of the espresso used, it tasted smooth and was rich and aromatic. The pistachio flavoring was good, I wish there was a bit more as the espresso overpowered it a bit. My friend said his cookie butter latte ($7.50) was perfect, and the cashier had mentioned that those are their 2 most popular drinks. Overall we enjoyed our drinks. The seating area could be improved to be more comfortable and inviting. They didn't really have anything to eat except for some waffles which didn't look fresh in the display case.
This cafe is very spacious, offering plenty of seating areas and a beautifully minimalistic design. The overall layout feels thoughtfully created, with subtle details that make the space visually interesting. There is plenty of convenient parking. Ordered the following: Double Pistachio Matcha Latte Double Pistachio Cafe Latte Vanilla Latte Tried the Double Pistachio from their new menu and liked the rich and nutty flavor. The heavy cream on top added a nice touch and worked really well either with the coffee or the matcha. My friend ordered the hot Vanilla Latte and liked it as well. Overall, I would like to come back and try other items on their menu!
They have extensive matcha menu. I love the interior design. It has many spots to sit and work. Wifi is fast and there are outlets. Ordered matcha coconut. The matcha cream is creamy and sweet and coconut water is refreshed. Service is good and minimal. Got my order within less than 1 minutes wow. I love that there is mango matcha and pistachio. Definitely want to try it next time.
stopped by with my friends before our flight, the cafe is pretty spacious with lots of seating. i got the double matcha latte which was absolutely delicious! i'm a matcha enthusiast & it was nice and strong, i ordered it 50% sweet which was perfect for me. it was creamy and the matcha flavor really shines. one of my friends got a croffle & it was also fantastic with a light glaze. i would definitely recommend!!
Been meaning to try this place for a while and I'm so glad I finally did. It's pretty big and has lots of seating. Seems like a good study spot since I saw a good amount of people working and the music isn't too loud. There are also plenty of food spots in the same plaza if you wanted to grab a meal with your drink Banana caffe latte: 5/5 this is def one of my fav banana lattes that I've ever had bc it didn't have that artificial banana flavor. Would def recommend!! My boyfriend got the double matcha which he liked but it was a littlee too sweet for his preference
Interesting decor to say the least. It is not warm and friendly, but quite the opposite lol. I guess it works with the branding... but the girl who took our orders definitely was also just "there", customer service needs some work. Better coffee to grab and go. I ordered the Einspanner Americano and my friends had the Blueberry caffe latte, and a Hojicha latte. I was eyeing the blueberry and strawberry latte's myself but didn't know what the espresso was like. After trying my friend's drink, I thought the coffee flavor was pretty light bodied with fruity notes, so it worked well! Einspanner cold foam was thick and rich, but complimented the cold brew roast. Perfectly balanced drink for me that day :)
I stopped by on a Sunday morning and was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the cafe felt. The shop was busy, but there was still plenty of seating available for studying, working, or catching up with friends. There's also a restroom on-site and ample parking in the plaza, which is always a plus! The space itself is beautiful, modern and contemporary with subtle wabi-sabi touches with pop of colors. The baristas were friendly, and I appreciated the variety of matcha offerings on the menu. I ordered the Double Pistachio Matcha, which was incredibly creamy and had a rich, authentic pistachio flavor. While I enjoyed the nuttiness, the cream was a bit too heavy for my personal preference so I couldn't taste the matcha as much. I also tried my friend's Einspänner, which was absolutely delicious and something I'd definitely come back for. Another friend ordered the Hojicha Latte, and it had a perfect balance of roasted tea flavor and sweetness. My only downside was that it was quite warm inside during our May visit. The AC didn't seem to be running, which made it uncomfortable to stay for an extended study session or hangout. Hopefully that's something they address as Orange County approaches the hotter summer months. Overall, I'm excited to return and work my way through more of their drink menu. The atmosphere, drinks, and friendly service made for a great first visit.
Loving the Double Pistachio Latte series! Picture rich pistachio paste at the bottom, smooth coffee or grassy matcha in the middle, and then a creamy pistachio foam on top, finished with a line of crushed pistachios for extra texture. Every sip hits a little different depending on how you mix it, and it stays balanced the whole time. Nutty, creamy, sweet, and ultra satisfying. Between the two, I like the coffee version more, but you really can't go wrong with either! The ambiance here is just as good as the drinks. It's super spacious with lots of seating, and has an edgy, industrial aesthetic. This is a solid spot to catch up with friends or to just sit and sip. Also shoutout to the cashiers and baristas for being super friendly and relaxed. Definitely one of my regular stops now :)
I got an iced matcha latte with oatmilk and thought it was good! It's a pretty spacious cafe to be working from. The only downside is that the wifi may or may not be available depending on how many people are using it which wasn't as ideal. When we came in, we couldn't connect but once people started leaving, it was available. read more
An innovative coffee shop that's actually really good! We went on a Saturday afternoon for a quick pick-me-up and had no trouble finding parking in the lot. Inside, there was a line and most of the tables were taken by people working on their laptops, but there were still enough seats that I was able to grab one after ordering. They also have a QR code so you can browse the menu while waiting in line. The interior was on the darker side, but it fit the cool black aesthetic they're going for. As for the drinks, the blueberry caffe latte did not disappoint. The blueberry syrup tasted fresh and sweet, with actual pieces of blueberries inside. The sweetness was well-balanced and didn't overpower the coffee, so you still get that good coffee flavor. We also tried the cookie butter latte, which was delicious too! Even with the cream top, the cookie butter flavor wasn't overly sweet and complemented the espresso nicely. Overall, it's a solid coffee shop. I'll definitely be back for the coffee, and next time I want to try the matcha since it seemed to be the most popular drink people were ordering. Can't wait to visit again! read more

I honestly love coming here, the parking is great. It's spacious and the interior, especially, it's big and it offers a lot of seats for people to study and the drinks here are very fun and taste pretty good, and they also introduce different types of menus with the seasons, like the banana and I recently have been enjoying the banana coffee and matcha, the staff are all right, pretty helpful, kind of rushy, but it's okay. I get it. This place is a great place to come to casually read more
I love coming to Grid Coffee when I'm in the area! The cafe is super spacious and has a minimalistic aesthetic. There's always people studying or working so it's not too loud in there. I got their strawberry matcha and einspenner which were both so good. The coffee flavor is really strong and the strawberry matcha isn't too sweet with a perfect matcha ratio. read more

Einspanner had too much milk at the bottom and foam was too light. Matcha was solid! A little underwhelming compared to most OC coffee/matcha spots. Great place if you need to get work done! read more
The double matcha is simply one of the best I've ever had! I love how big the space is, and how it is decorated. There is seating to lounge or work/study. The staff is very nice and they made my quick very quickly in the morning. You can choose the size of your drink which not many other coffee shops seem to do anymore, especially for matcha drinks. There is an added charge for alternative milk options. I loved my drink so much and it looked pretty much perfect. I appreciate the balance of sweetness, earthy, and umami flavors that are complemented by the creaminess of the matcha latte and cream top. I highly recommend trying it out. read more

I actually really like this place, been here a few times and they let me bring my dog inside :) Their croffles are really good and the atmosphere inside is really spacious and bright. Chairs not the best for long studying bc it's hard wood, but there's plenty of outlets. Very good coffee and food so I'll probably be back read more

visited on | thursday @ 10 AM food: - ordered the cookie butter matcha latte & the banana cream matcha latte! the cookie butter matcha latte did not taste grainy or powdery and incorporated the cookie butter flavor nicely and the salt topping was as a nice touch. the banana matcha latte did not taste artificial and was incredibly satisfying service: - service was quick & easy. it wasn't busy when we arrived, and we received our drinks promptly without a long wait. cleanliness: - this spot was also very clean and organized. the self-serve station for lids, water cups, stirrers, and napkins was well-stocked and tidy, which we appreciated. overall notes 彡 overall, we loved our drinks and would definitely return to try more of their menu. the space is simple, comfortable, and seems like an excellent study spot for students or anyone looking for a quiet place to work. read more

New coffee shop alert! Upon entering the cafe I first noticed how spacious it is; plenty of seating for a place to work or study and very high ceilings. The decor is giving contemporary and industrial. I tried the Blueberry Matcha Latte which comes with chia seeds (as the blurry compote in house is made with chia seeds) and it was delicious; the matcha was rich and creamy and blueberry flavor is strong and not artificial. The chia seeds give a nice little texture and something to chew on between each sip. The Grapefruit Matcha was a very interesting and uncommon drink but the citrusy and bitter notes works in my opinion. The flavor and sweetness comes from the grapefruit jam, so you can't adjust the sweetness level again, unless you want to compromise the intensity of the grapefruit flavor. I also tried the Einspanner Americano which was soo good; the Americano wasn't bitter at all and topped with the cream top was perfect balance. You can't adjust the sweetness to the drink as they don't add any extra simple syrup like most places. The worker told me the drink is only sweetened by the blueberry compote and cream top. The various flavored croffles looked to tempting in the display case I couldn't help but get a plain sugar/original one. And I'm so glad I did; it was buttery, fluffy and slightly chewy on the inside but crisp from the caramelized sugar on the outside. If the rest of the menu is as good as what I got today, then I'll definitely be back to try the rest of their offerings. read more
Grid Coffee is one of my top Orange County Coffee Shops for Matcha, I especially love the double matcha. It's a chill spot, the cashier's are always friendly. I've never had a "bad" drink, it always comes out tasting just how I like it! The Matcha waffle is a must try, it's soft, it's crunchy, it's delicious! I'll always come back for more. read more

Always happy to find a new local coffee shop that offer tasty drinks! Service was nice and quick! Their shop is also big and spacious that it's a nice contrast from most cafes nowadays that are so cramped from having a too crowded seating arrangement to maximize space. There's a space for working with a good amount of tables and a space for just sitting and waiting for your drinks. Some of their chairs might not be comfy to work long-term though. I found myself really liking the ambience, feels calm and relaxing but still lively enough for a cafe. Good for work or small talk because music isn't too loud either! Parking's shared in a plaza that's not too busy, so no need to worry about that. Got a medium Strawberry Matcha Latte and medium Einspanner Latte. - Strawberry Matcha: I recommend to mix this very well before you drink! It's not sweet until you mix it completely. I found this perfectly sweetened and balanced between matcha and strawberry. The strawberry part is also made of real strawberries so no artificial taste, which I love. Matcha is smooth and light. Great to sip throughout the day or while catching up on some work without the fear of a sugar crash or feeling heavy and sluggish! Definitely a recommended drink! - Einspanner Latte: I'm used to einspanners being sweeter, so this is not as sweet as I'd personally like. However, I still think that it's a nice caffeine boost, and if you're into more unsweetened coffee, this may be something you'd like. Medium comes with three shots of espresso. There's also cinnamon on top, so it does add to the taste and aroma and actually reminds me of the Cappuccino Blast from Baskin Robbins minus the sweetness. I don't love this, but I also don't think that it's bad either (It's all preference and I can see myself liking it more with a syrup add-on). Overall, I'd say Grid Coffee made it to one of my top cafes, especially for matcha lattes, in OC! It's appropriately priced for the quality, nice service, great space to work or hang out, and easy parking. I look forward to trying more of their drinks when I'm in the area. Definitely a recommended spot! read more

THIS PLACE IS A GEM! Its so so so cute! It's such a vide, you can come in here for a meeting, to do homework/work. There's so many spots to sit. The workers are always super nice and helpful, I always get the double match but I've had their coffee and everything is super good! I 10/10 recommend! Best matcha I've ever had no doubt! read more

Really cool space, kinda like an art gallery :) Lots of space to hang out and work, love the super open concept. Coffee is really yummy too. I tried their Blue lavender iced latte and it was perfectly sweet and not overly floral. The blue color is gorgeous and is made possible with their butterfly pea flower lavender syrup that's made in-house. read more
Located in a shopping center a few blocks down South Coast Plaza, this place had ample free parking. The space itself is very open, with high ceilings and a lot of square footage for walking. There is tons of seating, but maybe not the most comfortable for sitting for very long periods of time. I ordered the Lavender Blue Matcha. It was mild and sweet. This place is good for matcha if you aren't a fan of the more robust matcha flavor. I myself was searching for that strength of a ceremonial matcha in my drink. I got the pretzel croissant warmed. That was pretty good; better than one I got from another coffee shop recently. read more
Parking is in a plaza, so easy to find. From the front you cannot tell at all that it is spacious inside. There's a lot of open space (ideally they could fill it with more tables to study) with a big blob of table on the left for seating / studying. Bathrooms are clean. Free wifi as well. 8/10 Thai Chai ($4.50): Tastes like chai latte without the milk part. I actually had no idea what this was -- I just assumed it was just gonna taste like chai latte and was largely right. Very nice but light chai tea. Added vanilla syrup to help make the drink sweet. Don't think I would get this next time but it was worth a try. Overall, I would come back here to study but the seats do have no back support and are uncomfortable to sit on after awhile. read more

Stopped by here for a coffee before heading over to South Coast. There's plenty of parking since it's located in a bigger strip mall. It's a cute place! It's definitely got some artsy vibes to it. There's some art on the wall but I feel like there's definitely room to add to it. The place is spacious with lots of seating space including two long interconnected tables that seem like they would be good for posting up and working for a while. My husband got the Einspanner and I got the Kyoto cold brew and cinnamon Croffle. The Kyoto cold brew was niiiiice. I am not a cold brew fan but the reviews promised a smoother, less acidic take on classic cold brew and they did not disappoint! I think this is the one cold brew I can tolerate and dare say, even enjoy? It was really refreshing. The cinnamon Croffle provided the touch of sweetness I needed to balance it out. I love how parts of the Croffle were almost crystallized with butter and sugar, it was a delightful texture and taste. My husband didn't love his einspanner but to be honest, I think it's because he didn't know what it was before ordering it lol. I tried a sip and thought it was good but just really creamy, so if you prefer a high cream to coffee ratio, that might be for you! The only advice I would offer is to turn the music down a smidge. It was pretty loud for 9am and it made it hard to hard the cashier when she was taking our order (and vice versa). I think some light music in the background would be nice and still keep it a bit vibey in here. read more
I wanted a place to study for a few hours. This was a place I saved to visit so over I went! Its a pretty spacious coffee house and the interior is moderately designed. I wasn't sure what to get initially but decided to try their vanilla latte with cream. House cream was $1 more but I got a pretty tiny scoop of it. Taste wise the drink was normal but I didn't finish even half. The service was fine, but I was hoping for something extra good. read more
It's such a spacious cafe with lots of seating to work or chill with friends. I love the ambiance that they have. They also have gender inclusive bathrooms. We got the Cherry Mocha Coffee and Blueberry Caffe Latte. Both were super yummy and highly recommend. I've never had cherry flavored coffee so didn't know what to expect. But I sure did love it! There's a nice sweetness and flavor to it. The Blueberry Caffe Latte was refreshing and I loved the blueberry bits in it. It gives the drink some texture. Decided to give this coffee shop a try. Came in with some friends and we chose to try their strawberry matcha and their einspanner latte (comes with 3 espresso shots!) Inside the vibe is very minimalist. All dark neutral tones. People sitting at their little areas where you can sit with your laptop etc. The menu is located at the counter when you order and it's simple but with many great options. They also have various pasties that looked really good. Upon receiving our drinks, we were very pleased with the presentation. They give you your drink with no lid or straw- but they have them available to grab yourself. The strawberry matcha was perfect! 5/5 and the strawberry was real strawberry puree. The einspanner latte also amazing! It all tasted very good! We will absolutely be back! Thanks Grid Coffee! read more
I tried Grid Coffee out with my friends when we were in the area. It's quite minimal with block style seating and sort of resembles a cafe I would see in LA. They have a small shelf of pastries consisting of waffles, croissants, cookies and brownies. My original interest was their coffee, but I think their matcha is slightly better! I did ask for recommendations, but I didn't feel like the staff was really interested or enthusiastic to share their recommendations. My favorite was the blueberry matcha. The ratio of blueberry and matcha is balanced with the milk. I tried a sip of my friend's coffee but favored my drink the most. Spent a good hour here just lounging and chatting! As there are many coffee shops trending it's hard to say when I would be back, but overall, I liked the drinks! read more

Came here enough times to post my thoughts- First, outlets: yes a lot wifi: yes grid-guest pw: Gridguest parking: yes Service is fast and good and they dont rush you while you order despite the line ty :) interior is quit spacious with plenty of seating. Only wall seats have cushion so if you plan to stay a long time try to get a wall seats or prepare to sit in a small hard wooden stool. double matcha : skip your matcha latte and get this instead at full or half sugar. As the name suggests you get stronger punch of matcha bc we js cant seem to get enough huh. I get less ice but they dont "top off your drink" which is okay to not mess up the milk ratio. Get a large if you sip fast I think this place is comparable with Rok, and better than stagger and AOU. Competitive pricing at abt 6-7$ a cup. Milk alternative is $1 here which is $$ so i just tank the house milk yolo. They play some kind of chill krnb music and the aesthetic is urban and modern. I love sitting here :) read more
Grid Coffee is solid, I love the einspanner latte and the croffle. These two together are harmonious, I love a delicious pastry with a nice coffee. It's the perfect pick up or start to my day. I've also tried the matcha latte, which is decent. The matcha isn't earthy forward but I still enjoyed it. The place is clean and has almost industrial style decor. I'd chat with a friend or journal here. Overall, I'd recommend trying out Grid Coffee! read more
A large and spacious cafe, with a very modern and clean aesthetic. Plenty of tables and chairs to sit and chat or do work (may not be the most comfortable). The cashiers/baristas were super sweet and helpful. - matcha latte: 6.5/10. Got this less sweet, so it was the perfect sweetness, but the matcha isn't as strong as I would prefer. We came around 11AM on a Saturday and there wasn't a line. The interior felt like a sleek, minimalist vibe that was refreshing to see in comparison to other cafes. I ordered the matcha latte and I loved the balance to the sweetness and matcha level! I do like a stronger matcha taste so I will definitely go back to try the double matcha! read more
I've been to Grid Coffee 3 times now and can confidently say that it is has some of my favorite matcha that I have ever had! My first visit I tried the Coconut Cloud Matcha. I had no idea what it was to be honest but I like coconut and matcha so I figured I'd like it. It definitely wasn't what I was expecting but it was so good. My second visit I tried the Strawberry Matcha which I can confidently say is easily in my top 3 strawberry matchas of all time. I loved the strawberry puree and I loved that you could also still taste the matcha. My most recent visit I tried just a normal Matcha Latte with the cream on top. Also amazing. Besides their drinks being great, I really love the interior of this place and have found everyone there to be very friendly. Although I don't live close enough to be coming here every day, I'll definitely be coming by whenever I am nearby! read more
one of the better coffee spots out in oc! i love their einspanner latte, its not too bitter nor sweet; just right & their cookie butter latte is second best. they don't have the einspanner matcha on the menu but you can ask for it & they'll make one for you :) the coffee & matcha is very smooth imo. the service is always quick & friendly here. their cream tops are creamy & sweet, complimenting their drinks very well with perfect ratio. the coffee shop is huge, with plenty of space to study or work. its not too loud or quiet in there. perfect spot for studying or coffee dates. its always a hit or miss with how busy; one weekend it could be chill & the next weeknd its packed but the wait isnt usually too bad since they're quick with making drinks. i'd definitely prefer grids coffee over the others around the area & highly recommend it :) read more

Little bready and a teensy bit dense, not as flakey on the inside. Honey glaze or simple syrup glaze may be a little sweet for some ppl since it's on both sides (they prolly dip it into the glazebut it went really well with the everything seasoning. Cherry mocha latte 3/5 There's cherry syrup at the bottom, it was fine but I wanted more caffeine from the coffee. Matcha cream latte 3/5 It's ok, not as memorable as airoma. Grid Coffee offers so many great drink options, but for my first time, I tried the Double Matcha Latte and Strawberry Matcha Latte! Out of the two, my favorite was the Double Matcha because of how flavorful the matcha was and how creamy the drink was. (I originally wanted the Cream Top Matcha but it looks like they changed it on the menu. I asked the cashier and they said it was the Double!) The Strawberry Matcha was ok, even after mixing, I couldn't get much strawberry flavor. For going on a weekend morning, we didn't wait too long. About 10 minutes in line and less than 5 minutes for our drinks. There were a lot of seats in there and it looks like a great place to study or get some work done. Cream matcha latte - rich and smooth, quality is clearly there, subtle earthy profile balanced perfectly with velvety creaminess, it's already not that sweet so no need for adjustments. highly recommend, one of the best I've had! Spacious space with lots of mini tables and stools, great place for work or hanging out. Modern, clean, and minimalistic vibes. I came at 1:30PM on a Wednesday, waited ~ 5min in line + another 5min for drink and most of the tables were taken. I really enjoyed my lavender latte and I'll definitely be back to try more! Visited this spot to meet up with friends and do work. The inside is very spacious with lots of places to sit and work, but note that it's not very comfy. I did notice that they have seat cushions available, but I noticed too late. There are also some outlets available. As a big fan of lavender lattes, I liked the flavor of this latte, but I would probably get it less sweet next time. Big open space, nice casual ambiance inside. Lots of seating in square stools and ig photo spots. Not many outlets, but has tables for light studying. Got a strawberry matcha latte- its not very matchay, taste just like milk. But the strawberry jam is very yummy. So probably better to go for their coffee Orders are made fast! read more
