Yesterday I finally was ale to make it back to to G & W, and my experience this time was beyond amazing! I was offered a free meal after my first review but that's not why I did the review. I don't want free food, I want to eat this amazing food!! I ordered the shrimp and avocado roll, subbed a salad as my side. The dressing for the salad was divine!! The sandwich was cheesy, gooey and delicious! I paid in cash so they wouldn't know it was me, and try to comp my meal. I introduced myself to Amy, she is incredibly gracious and offered once again to comp my meal. I will be back and I will tell anyone who has a minute to listen!! GO TO G & W!!! My friend and I ate at the Griffin and Wells Cafe yesterday for the first time. Enumclaw for a small town has some good eating places but this cafe definitely is worth 5 stars. We spit the cheese hamburger and the apple and cranberry bread pudding, the dessert was toped with homemake vanilla ice cream. Both were wonderful, I bought an extra dessert for my husband and he was very impressed. The curry, carrot soup was also good as well as the ice tea. The fettuccine was made at the restaurant and was tender. The service was polite and professional. The atmosphere was excellent. We ordered our meal and it was served with impeccable timing. We ordered Koko Brown Ale which was served with bread right away and the beer decanted into cold glasses. When we finished the bread our appetizer GW Chips arrived. There were five of us at the table on a Friday evening. Great location, lots of parking close by. Love the detailing to the tables, and surrounding walls which helps create a great atmosphere. Service was prompt and I like that my glass of wine was in front of me within mins of being served. Food was excellent, great variety of appetizers, mains and desserts, all unique, fresh, made from scratch. I heard they change their menu on a regular basis which makes a great excuse to visit again. I have never been so disrespected at a restaurant before. I don't usually make such poor comments about the service but wow I was shocked. The waitress THREW our menus at us, she was very cold to us when we were trying to make polite conversation, and then felt the need to rip our menus out of our hands when collecting them. The wait time for the food was about 45 minutes when there was only one other table occupied. What really sealed this off as a terrible experience for me was having the waitress put down my husband's food at his spot and then coming back to pick up his plate and give it to him because he was at another table with our extended family members. I understand the policy of only 5 people at a table, but he wanted to chat with our family at other tables and she felt the need to give him his plate for whatever reason. I don't know what her motive was but it felt rude and like she was trying to rush us. read more
