I absolutely LOVE this food truck! I am shocked to see they only have 3.5 stars! They are at the San Lorenzo Street Eats every other Thursday, and so am I! The bread is super soft! I usually skip the addon fries for $1 cuz the sandwich is more than enough to fill me up. I get a Philly with white cheese, onions and bell peppers....best Ive ever had, and wayyy less greasy than some of the others I've tried! They are usually pretty busy but it probably takes me a total of 10 minutes to get my order placed and get my food. Had Grillaz when I was at the Earthquakes game last week. I got the plain cheese steak, which uses meh cheese and lacks bell peppers. If you're going to get it, spend the extra $1 and get the deluxe. I haven't tried it, but for that price it's worth it. The only reason I didn't get it was because I hate mushrooms. It didn't dawn on me until later that I probably would have been better off just asking for it without the mushrooms. I don't tend to think rationally when there are mushrooms involved, though. In any case, the sandwich itself was fine as a plain sandwich. Besides the cheese, I actually liked the sandwich. Had it been one of the lone trucks there I probably would have been very happy with it. But at an event with ten food trucks, an okay sandwich is a missed opportunity where I could have tried several other foods instead. read more

Omg... I am a fan! A HUGE FAN!! Grillaz was one of four food trucks that came to our school for open house last year and they were SOOO on point with everything! The service was awesome! Really chill and friendly guys. But man oh man... That Flying Pig is something out of this world!! Lucky for me I was able to devour grillaz gone wild sandwiches at a work event last week. My work covered the bill so I was able to try a few of their sandwiches. This included their bbq chicken, mushroom swiss, and their special for the day their Philly Fish sandwich. OMG. All were so delicious! I honestly don't think they could make a bad sandwich. Not only were their sandwiches good but their loaded fries was delicious! Their portions are huge and there was no way I could finish one sandwich by myself. I couldn't have been more disappointing by a food truck. I have been dying to try this place out - seen long lines, great pictures being tweeted. I tried the BBQ Bacon Sando - the bacon was soft and overpowered, barely any BBQ, the cheese was stuck to the bun. The meat was dry, stringy, not appetizing at all. There was a complete lack of moisture anywhere around the sandwich lol. We each ordered the flying pig (chicken, bacon, ham, pineapple, sweet chili sauce, onions, green onions) on a french roll. My two co-workers loved the sandwich. I merely thought it was ok. This is an update: I ordered my favorite sandwich the Flying Pig but changed it with the HOT Cheddar cheese sauce instead of white melted cheese. This is really better and it was only $9. You will need a lot of napkins because they put a lot of meats and fixins in your sandwich with warm hoagie roll. Yummy. I put some sriracha chili sauce over the sandwich. The cook was really friendly and nice and the person who took my order was nice. This food truck serves great hoagie sandwiches especially the "Flying Pig", The Original (Cheesesteak sandwiches), and you can still add $1 for steak cut fries. Great deal. But if you buy fries by itself its $3. They give you big portions. The one thing I don't like is their juices from their meats and chicken drained in paper recycled container, and was glad I put on my recycled bag. Next time, tell the cashier and cook to drain their meats - so juices won't come out and the bread won't be soggy. Although I liked their hoagie roll - warm, soft hoagie roll. This food truck came to my work and I was very impressed. I'm pregnant and I have weird cravings. I can only eat certain things and only when I'm craving it. (You preggies can relate) Anyways, I asked for a special request..just a good ol' Grilled Cheese Sandwich. The cook explained to me it would be a little different then the average Grilled Cheese. I also ordered some loaded fries. When I got my meal and went back into my office I got a great surprise. my Grilled Cheese was smothered in not only the white american cheese, but the gooey cheese as well. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!! They were one of our vendors for a company picnic about a month ago and I've been waiting for their return! Both times I got the mushroom swiss and they so kindly added portobello mushrooms to it for an additional 50cents. (WORTH IT) Fries are only $1 more. They are very clear on the pricing. The sandwich is amazing, prices are reasonable considering the portion they're giving you, and the guys who run the truck are incredibly kind. So I was at work the other day and this truck was parked outside so I decided to give it a try. Firstly, the wait time in line was 15 minutes and I only had about nine people in front of me. All I ordered was a Swiss mushroom cheesesteak with a side of fries and the total was over $12 and did not include a drink so the price was a little higher than its value. The french fries were cold and the cheesesteak was awful. The meat had a funny taste and the roll itself was not fresh. At first glance the truck itself was very impressive because of the decals and look. I expected high quality. We hired the services of Grillaz Food Truck to cater a dinner for our staff. They were great to work with around logistics leading up to the event but even we could not expect how exemplary their services would be on the actual day. They provided multiple options for our 150 staff including exciting options to accommodate all dietary restrictions (vegetarian, gluten free etc.). Their service was VERY fast and were able to go through large numbers of people in a limited amount of time. By far the lowest waiting time of any other truck we've used. the portobello is basically inedible! it is SO spicy, it takes away any flavor the vegetables could have had. Pepper seeds everywhere! There are also hardly any mushrooms in here either. But, im normally never in the mood to eat from the trucks that post up in the Big lots parking lot in Milpitas. We randomly went tonight and i happen to come across people eating from this truck. Their sandwich ( which i came to realize were cheesesteak sandwiches) looked so good! So i decided to try one. I got the pepper steak. I have to admit it was really good sweet and spicy from duh the peppers.I loved the portion they put in my husband and myselfs. GGW, A wonderful mouth watering experience. I found these guys at a San Jose Earthquakes game. The line was a bit of a wait, and that what lead me to give it a try. Soooo worth the wait. The guys are funny and deliver a refreshing attitude for a couple of guys in a wagon. They make the food as good as their personalities. Every game I make this my stop. I read all the reviews before posting this and I'm confused. If you order something you need to tell them what you want, its your order. I was lucky enough to grab a sandwich from these guys in San Leandro tonight, and boy was it tasty. I went with the BBQ Bacon, which had seasoned beef, oh so delicious pork, and red sweet peppers. Unlike others on Yelp, I had no problem with the bun or fries. The bun was soft and pulled apart easily, and the fries were warm, crispy, and seasoned to perfection. To top it off, the dudes grilling away in this bad boy (who introduced themselves as Angel and Justin) were super cool and seemed to really enjoy what they are doing in there. I do too! read more

The food is Great but the Customer Service will have me coming back!! Every time I've come across them, the guys are SO Nice, and Super Friendly. They genuinely want ot give you the best service!! They go Above and beyond to make sure that you have everything that you want and more!! They came to the office today and a gentleman slipped and lost part of his lunch. A colleague and I went to help him, and we offered to pay to replace his fries. Once we notified GGW they made another basket for him and ran to catch him. Found these guys at the downtown San Leandro food truck rally and am glad I did. I've tried the original Philly and the bacon BBQ and both are on point. I will say these are cheesesteaks that you will need to eat with a knife and fork! Plenty of meat, soft roll, heavy on the 'Whiz. What a delicious MESSY sandwich! I went a picked up a sandwich from their Tuesday stop by Kaiser in Oakland. I think I got the BBQ chicken sandwich and it was so good but absolutely unhealthy. Definitely not the best go for a light lunch to get you through the work day (especially if you don't want stains on your shirt/mouth!) but the flavor was phenomenal.
