Pretty good food, i actually enjoyed the atmosphere as well. However, I can safely say I will not be returning. I work a block away from this restaurant, so on my hour lunch break I decided to give this place a shot. After walking here and ordering it was 15 minutes into my hour long lunch break, after receiving my food it was 45 min into my hour break. I'm not sure what took so long to make a simple panini sandwich but I was forced to shovel the food down my throat and run back to my job. Not only was the service painfully slow (there was no one in the store creating a backup, it looked like they may have had one online to prepare) the prices were overpriced. I hope the manager reads these reviews so he can somehow make the 5 people behind the counter actually put out a meal faster than 30 min.. Until then, I wish you luck with your store but you won't get my returned service. read more

Major disappointment. Totally ruined my 4th of July. A friend and I really wanted to have freedom burgers & fries for the holiday. We drove around the city looking for a place that was open and settled on Grille twelve24. I made my order and my friend said he wanted the same thing. When the order came, the two were different. One had fried onions, the other had raw onions. They left out the cheese on both burgers, the fries were too salty, no ketchup on the table and they served Diet Coke instead of the regular coke we ordered. The table was dirty, but they cleaned on request. The coffee sucks too even at $2.40 for a small cup. The burger was nothing special and overcooked in my opinion. They didn't even care to ask how we wanted it. It was my first experience at this joint. I don't think I will give it another try. read more

The food is okay and reasonably priced, but I just waited 45 minutes for a burger and fries. I called in the order, got there, and was told it wasn't ready. Then watched as several people in front of me came in ordered the same thing and left before me. I questioned several times if it was being made and they assured me it was. I went to this restaurant because it was recommened by a coworker. My coworker loves this place but for me its going be a tbumbs down. When you walk into the place its really clean which I love. You can see the chicken on the rotissere cooking which looks so good. I ordered a grilled chicker ceasar wrap and fries extra fried and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks where really good. But the wrap had absolutely no flavor. Normally Caesar wraps have dressing in it but this one had NONE. The wrap was very lack luster. It had a good amount of chicken in it but it didnt taste like anything just bland dry chicken. They charge extra if you want fries which in my opinion should come with it. If your going charge me extra they should at least be worth it and shouldn't be fried in chicken grease or taste like it was. I literally had pieces of chicken bits on my fries. The peruvian chicken is great, but I think the best ( and worst, I'll explain) thing on the menu, is the peruvian chicken salad sub. The chicken salad itself is amazing, but the bread its served on always seems dry, and almost impossible to eat as a sub. Please, serve this chicken salad on any other bread, a potato bun would be great, I'd even take white bread, and I hate white bread. I came in with a group of friends not knowing exactly what to expect but the service was superb and the manager recommended their house Peruvian chicken so I went for it. It was amazing! Well cooked, seasoned, served with two dipping sauces and comes with two sides. Definitely a good amount of food for your money! I would highly recommend this neighborhood spot. First visit and totally WOW!! FIrst to get a main course (1/4 Peruvian chicken) with two sides and drink for under $10, that's awesome! Went with two of my friends today for lunch and really enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Peruvian chicken with black beans and fries and my friends each got the burger. The food was really good. Someone told me the owner insists on making his own French fries and not buying them pre-made. I believe it. The fries were awesome. My friend ordered his fries well done and those were super awesome. I tasted both of my friends burgers and they were both delicious. I'm a dark meat chicken guy so I got the 1/4 dark. Skin was crispy and had just the right amount of seasoning. I liked the three sauces they serve with the chicken. One was a sweet/spicy sauce which was something I've never had before. Just went to the Grille for the first time. Poking around the area with some friends looking for an apartment. Tired and hungry. Popped in to find the best burger in town! It helped that the fries were fresh cut and came to the table hot and crispy. All meals were washed down with beer and that was fantastic. Will be back any and every time I'm in the area. I frequent the Mt. Vernon area for food and coffee and Grille Twelve 24 has been a very welcome addition. Their Peruvian chicken is amazing! It is well seasoned and always tastes fresh out of the oven. I always get the chicken with a side salad and the pervuian rice. They come with these ridiculous dipping sauces, one creamy and spicy, the other filled with fresh herbs. I slather them both on the chicken every time because I can't decide which one I like more. In addition to the amazing food, the prices are wallet friendly and the customer service is great. They're always welcoming and if I'm ever having a hard time making a choice, they are always patient and have great suggestions. The interior is well decorated and clean. I always eat in but you can do delivery or pick up if you're in a rush. If you're looking for great food for a great price, I would recommend giving Grillle Twelve 24 a try! Don't go to this place! I ordered from here when I first moved here and they got lost! I waited over an hour and then they yelled at me as if it was MY fault! I explained that to them as well and they had no sympathy. When I tried to see if they would give me the order for free or throw in soda or a dessert and they refused. But a huge shout out to the manager who is the best at customer service. Sorry I can't remember his name. Last night ordered from Groupon, which turned out to be a disaster and had to call the restaurant a couple times. He went above and beyond. Wow, I'm pretty disappointed by this location. First day of school, I thought hey let me stop in for lunch. The girl with the glasses in the front was super friendly and offered the student discount! Yay for saving money. My problem is with the guy who gave the orders out. I hear him call my order "order 52, quarter chicken" So, I proceed to the counter to collect the food I PAID FOR. He looks at me suspiciously and hesitates to give me my food. He then requests to look at my ticket. I show him the ticket. It says order 52. I guess he notices the confusion on my face and says "I just always like to check it *chuckle*. I was sitting nearby and didn't see him check anyone else's ticket. I've dined here before and I've never had my ticket checked. This was also my first time trying the Peruvian chicken, which was mediocre. Also, cold salad was placed in the same container as my hot chicken. Just wonderful, right? I seriously won't be back. Better off going to El Gran Pollo in Towson. read more

I waited 25 minutes for my to-go order of a cold cut. When I approached the cashier to ask why it was taking so long I was told that all orders are processed First In, First Out. I was penalized because everyone ahead of me had ordered cooked food. I did not order cooked food because I wanted to quickly grand lunch and get back to work. This is not how you run a deli at lunch time when many people only have 30 minues for lunch. My parents came to visit me in the Baltimore suburban area to attend a concert in downtown Baltimore, and Grille 1224 happened to be close to the concert venue, so we ate there. My mother got the spinach pie, and my stepfather had a few bites. The next couple of days she became increasingly out of sorts, complaining of a stomach bug, until she returned home to Indiana to see her doctor. By this time also my stepfather was not feeling so great, so he also saw the doctor. The diagnosis came back: they both had E coli. My mother to a greater extent, my stepfather less so. I called to check on them and got the news. When I called the restaurant, I asked for the manager, telling him what had happened. My words were greeted with surly suspicion. He could not say he was sorry to hear my 71-year-old parents were sick, nor that they were sick with E coli, nor that they got it from his restaurant. He admitted to nothing. He did not offer to comp our meals, or their meals, or my mother's meal, nor anything toward doctor bills nor medicines, neither of which were in the budget for elderly retirees. He never apologized for our trouble in any way, and all he said was that he would check with his supplier, and hung up. I was astounded that this is the level of customer service at this establishment. I would not go back there ever again even if their manager was paying me to eat there nor recommend it to anyone else. If you like your vegetables with a side of E coli, by all means try it. Otherwise steer clear of this establishment. read more

I've been to 1224 four times and tried different things; each time I went it was an "off" hour, like 2:30 in the afternoon, but the staff was friendly and the food tasted fresh. I have to go back for the chicken as everyone (or most everyone) in the reviews say it's great and I went in once for carry-out and saw some friends having it and they said it was delicious. I've had salads and paninni and a sandwich, all of which were excellent. And you can't beat the prices for what you get. Once i sat at the window counter and watched the people walk by on Charles, great fun, and a few times I had a booth, even though I was by myself, but, as I said, it was odd hours I was there, so the staff were fine with that. The place feels warm and welcoming. The one time I was there for carry-out, which was lunch time, there were lots of people in and it had a good vibe. I understand they deliver, which is a good option when busy at work. I'm definitely not a fan of chains, so I avoid all the chain places on the other side of the street (why eat fake Mexican made in some kitchen a thousand miles away and flash frozen and air shipped in when you can have freshly made food that someone in the kitchen is taking some time to think about and season and be creative?). I think Grill 1224 is a good addition to the area and I suspect it's going to thrive. I know i'll be back! read more
