We have been loyal Grimaldi's customers for 20 years, which makes tonight's experience all the more disheartening. Our waiter Boe didn't acknowledge us for 10 minutes after we were seated. Once he did, we waited another 15 minutes for our iced teas, and a full hour for our pizza -- which arrived overcooked and with noticeably sparse cheese. Throughout the meal, our water and tea were never refilled, and Boe didn't check in on us until we had already finished eating. What made it worse was the complete absence of any management presence. No one came by to check on our table or address our experience in any way. We want to be clear: we are not the type of customers who write reviews after one bad night. But 20 years of loyalty feels like it deserved better than this. We genuinely hope this was an off night and not a sign of things to come, because Grimaldi's has long been a place we've loved and recommended to others. We'll be back -- but we're hoping for the experience we know this restaurant is capable of. read more

Grimaldi's was our go-to pizza for years. But, things have changed for the worse. Shrinkflation has caused them to skimp on the sauce & cheese to the point that the pizza is simply a dry crust with little topping. I have eaten my last one. There are multiple other (now) better and less expensive pizzas around. read more

Hey, you know this was not a good experience.. from the moment I sat down at the bar Hannah the bartender didn't realize I was there, didn't clean the bar top which was dirty from the guest before, then left the bar for a while to do a server checkout (which you should tell a manager you're leaving the bar or get everyone's orders in before leaving), and then gossiped about me not giving her a 20% tip in front of me to another server. The kind manager took care of me the entire time; took my order, brought me the order- made sure I was good. I do not believe Hannah was entitled to 20%, respectfully. I'd reconsider gossiping about guests right in front of them and hold yourself accountable towards your level of professionalism moving forward. Thank you. read more

So we live in the neighborhood and have tried Grimaldi's a few times and it's been disappointing. Our last visit yesterday was the final straw. Ordered 2, 12in pizzas ($50) which were cold even though we arrived during pick up Window. Flavor awful, sauce bland, few toppings and burnt crust. Always a solid option! Have been coming to this location for years but hadn't been in a while! Came with family and fam friends and they were able to accommodate a larger group with two toddlers! They even brought out a little dough for them to play with. Love that there's a little park behind this location as well. Service was great! I shared a Mediterranean salad and a cheese pizza with extra cheese, side of hot honey. It was all delicious! He was a raider and I really enjoyed him and also the manager. We ordered a medium pizza, pepperoni, and Italian sausage and the whole thing and then half of one also had mushrooms. We are regretting our decision to go to Grimaldi's for dinner tonight. The prickly pear margarita was tasty, but I am not sure it had much alcohol. We each ordered a salad and they were not good. We both noted that we could've gotten a better salad at Chick-fil-A. Definitely don't get the chicken on your salad. It's terrible. Our server was great. She kept asking if we were sure we didn't want to take home our salad with us. She seemed confused when I told her no they were actually terrible. read more

We were here yesterday- Saturday evening around 6:30. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, but the hostess was quite friendly and put us on the waitlist. We waited outside for awhile and then found a spot at the bar area so we ordered a drink. The inside is very comfortable and is suitable for a large or a small group. They also offer outdoor seating. Soon our table was ready and we were seated. There is definitely a staffing issue here, as we witnessed, and as I read other reviews, but the staff that was here was bustling and doing their best. Our server was bartending and she was also our server. She did a great job and there was no delay in our dinner. We had the Mediterranean Salad and it was out in a flash. Very fresh with green lettuce- not that white stuff! It was perfectly dressed and I would order it again. For our main course we had The Don pizza and a Pesto Risotto Pepperoni pizza and we all loved them. A good amount of pizza sauce and toppings. Delicious! Super cute inside with a small bar and nice waiting area. Large indoor seating and outdoor patio areas that are kid-friendly! Our waiter was fabulous! Funny and helpful and very attentive! We enjoyed 1/2 price wine night (Tuesdays) and shared a small house salad and medium Margherita pizza. Perfect sharing size for 2. The salad was fresh and delicious. I appreciate it was a busy evening but do you completely disregard product quality because of it?? All 3 pizzas, one traditional and 2 cauliflower crust, were soggy and under cooked in the middle. I shared a basic starter salad (refreshing and light) and a cheeseless pizza with assorted a la carte veggies like arugula, onions, and the like. The toppings were loaded making this a very satisfying "pizza"! Atmosphere is kitschy but quaint and I imagine this is a good escape to New York in Arizona. What appeared to be a manager stopped talking to an employee and turned to look at me. He gave me a two second look stare, turned around and started chatting with the employee again. He was six feet away and ignored me. I waited and finally a lady employee asked if she could help me. 'Yes, carry out order for Bill.' I asked for napkins, salt and pepper. I received little cocktail napkins and told Grimaldi's doesn't carry salt and pepper packets. So much for seasoning my pizza the way I want it. I said 'thank you' and the lady said 'you're welcome'. So - you want me to tip you when I place my order and pay, drive to your restaurant, park my car, come in and then be ignored, be unable to provide a full size napkin, be unable to provide salt and pepper, and not have the manners to thank me for my business instead of me thanking you?
