In talking to the owner the shop is about 3 months old and is next to CBD Apothecary which they also own. Although the shop is a tad small, it's cozy and the setup inside has a welcoming feeling. The coffee choices vary from your basic latte, mach, and fresh brew to specialty drinks like pumpkin and lavender latte. Grinders also has a few CBD infused coffees which I'll have to go back and sample. I had a salted mocha mach and it was smooth and delicious. Not too sweet but just enough to get me going on a busy Saturday. Next time you're in the Kirby area off 59 treat yourself to Grinders. Your eyes and taste buds won't be displeased. read more

This place is across the street from the building I work in and as a big believer in the power of Cannabis, I was anxious to try. I finally stopped by and ordered a Salted Caramel Latte and it was everything I expected and more. The overall look and feel of this establishment is so inviting. You are helped the moment you walk in and no matter the amount of questions I asked, I never felt rushed to order. They were able to answer all of my questions and get my latte out rather quickly. This is such a trendy coffee shop attached to a CBD apothecary. The decor is so welcoming and appealing. However, there isn't much seating, so it would be difficult on a busy day. Their music isn't very loud and I really like their playlist. There are no outlets I could find, so it would be hard to stay for sometime if you wanted to get work done. I didn't get coffee, but I got the hibiscus juice with toasted coconut and cinnamon - it tasted like liquid heaven. I tried really hard not to drink it too fast so I could savor it. Grinder's might be one of the prettiest coffeeshops I've ever been to in Houston! The ambience and design is so beautiful, airy, and charming and they are located right across the street from Rice Village, however parking was difficult since they have a tiny lot and we also came on the weekend so we had to circle around, find street parking, and then walk to the coffeeshop. There's also not too much seating or tables inside or outside and it seems like a grab and go kind of place. The coffee bar is connected to a CBD shop and they also offer a lot of CBD infused lattes if you want. Their coffee quality is really great but was a tad bit sweet when I tried their Honey Lavender Latte and had an overpowering honey flavor that I'm not a big fan of, which is why I gave this place is 4 stars instead of 5. However, I'd definitely want to come back to try some of their other seasonal pumpkin creations coming up or give the Lavender one another go and maybe ask for less honey next time! Overall great balance of espresso and flavor and I'd definitely stop by again if I'm in the area because it's such a gem cafe. They also have a really cute wall art on the outside where you can also take pictures but honestly I think the inside is so much prettier. read more

Words cannot express how happy I was that I chose this place for a quick coffee and espresso stop. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The service was quick as well. They offer apple pay as a method of paying, so if you don't feel comfortable giving your credit card to them. Additionally, the coffee was exceptional. I like my espresso strong and I was glad to be able to taste it, as oppose to other locations where their espresso tastes watered down. Offer other plant based options for milk substitutions. Great coffee and amazing cbd shots! I got an americano and a vanilla latte with almond milk which were both great and both had 2 added cbd shots which were great! The inside is beautiful and the outside area is cute too but it's near a busy road which is fine if you're fine with it! The customer service was just okay though. No greeting, not rude but not necessarily friendly either, no people skills just a, "what can I get for you?" Then silence afterwards. I don't get the hype. The baristas were aloof, short and unhelpful. The coffee was good, but overpriced--even without the CBD. The space to sit inside is very limited and crammed by the front door, which would not make for a great experience even if only a few people were in line. Unsure of their dine in service, but due to COVID I have been heavily utilizing delivery apps. Through Uber Eats I ordered 2 kolaches, a croissant, an orange juice, and coffee with CBD honey and a shot of CBD tincture for my family and I. What arrived was a one croissant and a one 10oz coffee ($17 with add ons for 10oz) that didn't taste like any honey was added, so I can only assume the tincture was not added either. $17 for a 10oz cup of coffee with the CBD add ons.... and they didn't even add what I asked. Absolutely ridiculous. I have worked in the industry since I was 15 years old I can be empathetic but to COMPLETELY miss an order the way they did is pitiful. Please check my other reviews I'm not "one of those assholes", but this was beyond irritating. I was hoping to enjoy our delivered meal so I could come check out the store when the pandemic died down, but that won't be happening. read more

This place is bomb! I brought my dog with me to pick up a coffee and breakfast sandwich to go. 1st, it looks like a dispensary and is connected to a CBD dispensary. The vibe is chill and clean, it very much reminds me of a place I love in Denver. 2nd, they were very nice to my dog. So points for that. 3rd, the coffee was delicious and super gourmet. The barista even made a decoration out of the frothed milk. And finally the food was awesome! I ordered an egg and cheese croissant sandwich and it was perfect. Perfectly cooked over easy egg, crunchy and soft croissant, gooey melty cheese, and there was a schmear of pesto on the croissant which gave it a fresh spin. Overall 5/5.
