Sooo ... at first glance I admit, I was skeptical. It really doesn't look like much. Wooden booths and you walk up to a window to order your food? Not looking at all like anything I would like or something that I would rave about. Boy was I wrong. Don't be fooled by looks. The food in this little establishment is delicious and fresh and pippin hot. Service is great! We were constantly asked if everything was okay and if we needed anything. What did we order? My family had the AYCE blue crabs that came with hush puppies and fries. The size; large. The weight; Heavy. Hot, not overly seasoned with spice ( a plus) 6 at a time. Hush puppies slightly sweet... delicious. Crabs were served with vinegar; extra spice and cocktail sauce. The also ordered a side of shrimp and fried oysters. So good. I had the combo platter; huge crab cake; fish; clams; oysters; scallops AND shrimp. My sides were onion rings and coleslaw. Nothing was overly salty; everything was FRESH AND Hot! No one finished their food. It was a generous portion. AYCE crabs can be taken home at a cost of $3 per crab, if you don't finish. Of course it's no sharing. They have a crab sauce. I didn't try it... You can bring your own. I saw a few patrons with their own sauce and their own Stanley cups. Drinks... the only alcohol that I saw offered was beer and Jack Daniel's beverages. We all had the iced tea. It tasted like someone's grandma made it, perfection. I cannot stress enough how much I loved this experience. I can tell you that I'm definitely going back. Don't cheat yourself. Put this in your rotation. You won't regret it. Grinders does seafood right.

Whoever recommended Grinder Seafood located in Indian Head, MD, to me.... THANK YOU . Except for it being EXTREMELY cold in here because of the AC being on, I'm . The crabs were a nice size, I ordered the large males because they were out of jumbo males. I also had the fried seafood box of scallop, shrimp, and clam strips that was really good. And the Sarah's Sweet Tea was everything I needed it to be.

My buddy asked me to take him down the road to get some crabs. I obliged, and we went there when they first opened. But the door was locked and they didn't have the key. So one of them came outside and took our order. I ordered a dozen females and a pound of large shrimp. It took about a half an hour to finish the order. Customer service was very good. When I got home the taste of the crabs were very good. And the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The females were a little small though. It's still a little early in the season, so I get it . But once the season gets started I may try them again. My order ended up costing $52. $32 for the dozen of females and $17 for the pound of shrimp. The picture of the half bushel was from another customer and she said they were $160, which I thought was a little pricy considering that they haven't gotten up to size yet!

I can tell that someone is reading the reviews , lol I went with my family and the service was really good, the young ladies in our section were very attentive. The food was good, definitely try the soft shell crab. They seem to be college students so give them grace , they were running back n forth and it wasn't that busy . I would def recommend this place and be back . My friend is a regular and even had some past experiences that weren't great but she also notice the service was better

Only been to the new location in La Plata maybe once since they moved here. I stopped coming because I didn't like how they fried the fish. The coating isn't nice and crispy. It's too light and just flakes off. Anyway, my family and I decided to order from here tonight 3-30-26. I ordered two croaker baskets and a jumbo shrimp basket. Placed my order at 5:07 pm. This was after standing in a long line. Walked down to Giant to make a purchase and then came back to my food still not ready. Finally decided to ask after sitting here for 20 minutes! How about the order was never put in! How the heck is that possible when I paid and have the receipt. Watched people that ordered after me get their food and leave. Here it is 5:56 pm and I still don't have my food! They said they put it in and it will be out soon. Several other orders have come out and I'm still sitting here! I tired to give y'all another chance. No apology or offer of anything. Yeah I'm pretty sure I won't be back! Do better! Oh finally got my food at 6pm. Carlita the cashier was the only one that really acknowledged what happened. Where's the manager! She should have come out to offer an apology. Smh.

Nothing really stood out, but nothing was terrible either. The restaurant has the typical crab house setup with brown paper covering the tables, and everything was spaced out nicely. We decided to sit at the bar, which is fairly small. I'd estimate there are only about eight bar stools. For drinks, I had two Moscow Mules, and my friend ordered two Lemon Drops. Both were good, especially for happy hour, and the prices were reasonable. The only food we ordered was the fried calamari, which came served in a small boat tray. The bartender also handed us plain white paper plates.... the same disposable plates you can buy at walmart. I'm definitely not someone who expects fine dining at a crab spot, but it felt a little lazy. Most seafood restaurants at least use branded paper trays or sturdier disposable plates that fit the experience. I completely understand that restaurants are dealing with rising costs, but this small detail took away from the overall presentation. Since we only ordered an appetizer, I can't fairly comment on the rest of the menu. However, I noticed several tables enjoying steamed crabs, while most of the people sitting at the bar had fried seafood platters with shrimp, fries, and hush puppies. Everyone seemed happy with their meals, so that's always a good sign. I did make a trip to the restroom, and while it was clean enough, the stall door was difficult to close and lock properly. I actually had to hold the door shut while using the restroom, which is something I hope they fix soon. We ended up staying for about two hours, and the atmosphere was relaxed and easygoing. Another plus is the large parking lot, which made parking convenient. Overall, Crab Boat was just okay. The happy hour prices were good, the drinks did the job, and the service was fine. I don't see myself going out of my way to return, but if I were in the area and wanted to grab a reasonably priced drink or it was one of the only available options, I wouldn't mind stopping in again.

My son wanted their crab cake burger which I had to taste and it was delicious. They offer mumbo sauce with their fries and it is banging. Got a nice little kick to it. The corn on the cob is so so. Its not bad but I just had better. Its too greasy for corn on the cob too. So confused about that. Any who, I spent $40 for everything which was reasonable for 2 meals. I will definitely be back to try other menu items. The cashiers here are super friendly which is always appreciated because its seems like people are losing basic manners. So thanks ladies for your kindness it didnt go unnoticed. Would I recommend this restaurant, yeah I would. Its not spectacular but its pretty good and you get enough food for the price. That itself is worth it. So go and visit so we can keep restaurants like this open in our community.
