This was my first time visiting this location, and although the parking lot was packed, there was no wait inside. I was seated quickly and served chips and salsa right away. I was able to place my order with a waiter who was friendly, but he wasn't very attentive throughout the meal. I had to request more chips and salsa and waited about 7-8 minutes before receiving them. My drinks were never refilled, and after finishing my meal, I waited more than 10 minutes to pay my bill. It would have been nice if he had checked me out while clearing the plates from the table. After waiting for a while, I finally had to flag him down to get the check. That's the reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. The food itself was excellent. The fajitas were fresh, seasoned, and delicious. The black beans and cilantro lime rice were also very good. Overall, I had a good experience and will definitely return. My only suggestion is for the servers to be a little more attentive. I'd rather be asked if I need anything 100 times than be left waiting and searching for my server. read more

First time visiting Gringo's, and I'm honestly surprised this chain has lasted as long as it has. Overall, we had a very poor experience, with our waitress being the only bright spot. The food was mediocre at best. We were a table of six--my wife, our four kids, and me. My youngest daughter ordered a kids' quesadilla, and it came out last. By "last," I mean my two sons were already about three-quarters of the way through their meals before her food even arrived. On top of that, they brought out the chicken for my wife's fajitas but forgot the tortillas, toppings, and sides. By the time everything finally arrived, my wife and I were eating cold food. To make matters worse, we found a hair in my oldest daughter's quesadilla. Mistakes can happen, but combined with all the other issues, it was the last straw. Considering the prices they charge, we won't be coming back. There are much better Tex-Mex restaurants nearby that offer a far better dining experience. read more

This was our first time visiting this location and it was wonderful. I wish I could remember our waitress's name because she was great. Very attentive. The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxing and not super loud which I loved. I ordered the fajita salad with chicken and beef while my husband got the fajitas. It was delicious! The outdoor area is spacious with plenty of seating. The inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a very inviting atmosphere. There are a lot of parking spots, although it can fill up quickly during busy hours. When I arrived, I waited about 35 minutes for a table for four. You can also join the waitlist online, which is a great option if you don't want to wait at the restaurant. We ordered the beef skirt steak fajitas and were super impressed with how flavorful and tender the meat was. For margaritas, we got the Cadillac margarita, pineapple margarita, and spicy sunset rita. Everything was delicious and refreshing! They also offer free ice cream, which is a nice treat to end the meal. Pretty impressed by this new Gringo's location. Restaurant and atmosphere in and of itself is well done. Lots of parking with seating both inside and out if you're waiting for friends or for a table. Once inside, it is pretty large with lots of larger tables to accommodate parties of 6 or more. Menu was pretty standard as far as Tex-Mex goes. Portions were huge. Chips brought to the table were hot, with a good amount of tasty red and green sauce provided. Opting for a "smaller" lunch, I had the Southwest Eggrolls, which were good and very filling (I couldn't eat them all by myself). Other platters ordered were enjoyed by people in my party (especially the shrimp empanadas). Service was great -- attentive without being overwhelming. There were several people taking care of the bar patrons and they did a terrific job. We ordered the Vera Cruz fajitas combo that comes with chicken, beef, and shrimp brioche w/ bacon and panela cheese. It comes with two sides (beans & rice) and we chose cilantro lime rice & black beans. It also came with tortillas, pico, and guacamole. Amazing service from both Nic and Eduardo, and even though this place is packed with a wait-list, we were able to immediately sit at the bar, Huge Win for us ! I ordered a water with lemon, and guess what !? My server, Nic, remembered the lemon, we are on a definite roll. The chips and salsa, yet another treat, fantastic light and airy chips. I don't know how to explain this, everything is going great and they have only been opened about a month. The menu is your traditional Tex Mex fare, but again, our server was great at allowing me to tweak my order, different from other places that don't allow substitutions. Although TBH, all I did was change out an enchilada sauce on one of my enchiladas, but it was at Eduardo's suggestion. WtG Eduardo!!! I love the interior of the restaurant, and even the outside seating/ waiting area was tops. At this point, ther is little that can go wrong . This was out first visit to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were promptly welcomed and seated for our party of 7. The outside decor was amazing a very relaxing vibe very well decorated in that Mexican flavor, just as beautiful as the inside, I was especially impressed with the huge light fixtures with the Mexican charm. Went for a night out with friends since this place just opened and we wanted to give it a try. I ordered a regular bean burrito. they charged me $14.99 for it and put it as the San Antonio burrito. I hate that I didn't take a picture of my burrito. It was LITERALLY beans, a little cheese and green sauce on top. Exactly what i asked our waiter Sebatian for. However...They charged me $15 for that and that is obsurd. The fajita bowl was mhhh...they gave me alot of fatty steak cuts for the bowl. I paid the same price for shitty meat as I did beans in a burrito. The drinks were also ridiculous. They tasted just like the house margaritas at Los Cucos down 249. We were excited to try the new location and as we walked in, not only the hostess failed to greet us, she ignored 2 of my attempts of greeting her and see if she would come to her senses. On a place like this you at least expect a "welcome to Gringo's" not a "How many?" And when a customer says to any staff "Good afternoon" you expect some respect back, not a stare. My husband and I came here last night with friends. It was PACKED. We arrived at 5:45PM, we didn't get seated until 7:00PM. We did enjoy the outdoor area seating; however, the wait was SO long. Then, we finally got seated and it took nearly 30 minutes to even take our order. We were given one small basket of chips and salsa for 4 adults. We blazed through that quickly and even asked for more chips and salsa and they took their sweet time. I did feel bad for our waitress as she had many tables. My husband and I ordered fajitas for two. I thought the price was reasonable. When we finally got our food, they didn't even bring the tortillas. It was very frustrating. Once we asked for our tortillas, we only had 3 between the two of us and they were extremely stuck together. The inside was nicely decorated and I see the appeal. We asked the waitress how long they had been open and she said a month and a half. We were very disappointed that after 1.5 months, this establishment is not efficient. First time visit to this Tomball location. We really liked the layout and openness of the interior. Our server James was perfect! Attentive, polite, personable and we never wanted for anything. Refills without asking & always super kind. Food was good! The chicken con queso was moist and nicely plated. Ribeye tacos also very tasty and the steak was very tender. Chips were warm and not too thick. I like the thin crispy texture and really enjoyed both accompanying dips. A red salsa and a cool creamy avocado blend. Both very good.
