This was a very last minute order and the team worked so well with me to meet my 48 hour deadline. I am a huge fan of the Groovy Duck Bakery. I've been here twice after recommendation from yelp. The first time I came I had the chocolate chip cheesecake which was really good. My only complaint is that the guy seemed like he was rushing us. When we came back the second time the lady was really nice in helping us decide what we wanted. Their lemon poppy seed muffin and Cow cake is to die for. I wasn't a big fan of the éclair but I was pretty good. Overall a really good bakery with pretty good prices for what you get. read more

I stopped in to see what was behind the glass, hoping for a homemade classic slice of cake or cupcake. (Carrot) The cashier was very kind and prompt on answering questions and checking out. He mentioned they were more known for their muffins, which looked especially delicious. It was late evening and pretty hot outside so I didn't grab coffee that others rave about. So I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter for 12/26/15. We got to Groovy Duck and the writing was misspelled for her name. The cake looked nice. Got it home and had her party. The cake was dry and it wasn't real buttercream frosting. The ganache did not look authentic either. I would not recommend. I have had better cake from a supermarket.We had a great baker back in Boston, just hope we can find something comparable. Groovy Duck pastries are fresh and delicious!Just to warn you they are a little hidden, so look for them on Edwards Mill Road just past RiteAid, in the same building as Strombolis. The sign facing the road simply says bakery and by the time you see the sign you've driven past the parking lot. Bad planning on the part of the building owner. Groovy Duck bakery underwhelmed me. I stopped to pick up dessert on my way to a dinner party, and was warmly welcomed into the cute and clean bakery. No complaints regarding service - staff was happy to guide me in my selection. I ordered an oreo cupcake, mango & lime cupcake and cinnamon square so we could try a variety. When we dove in after dinner, the cupcakes just didn't do it for me. They reminded me of grocery store cakes (of which I'm not a fan). The cinnamon square, on the other hand, was very tasty. Other Yelpers seems to love this bakery, but I'll drive the extra miles and pick up Whole Foods' cupcakes. The texture and taste is more my style. read more

Groovy Duck's is an interesting little pastry/coffee shop. I had a chai latte when I went and grabbed some pastries to take home. They sell a huge variety of muffins, cookies, cheesecakes, and slices of cake. I got their plain cheesecake and a slice of maple cake. The chai latte was a standard chai latte - Oregon Chai concentrate with steamed milk. Nothing outstanding. I just happen to not be a big fan of Oregon chai. I prefer a more heavily spiced chai. The maple cake was good but not great. I thought the frosting was little bland and could use a little bit more maple flavor. I did like that it was not overly sweet. The best thing I got was an individual cheesecake. It was terrific and why I gave four stars. It was smooth and creamy and dense just like cheesecake should be. Wonderful! AMAZING!!! The baked goods are delicious, and the coffee is outstanding. The tropical macaroon bars are our favorite, but we haven't had anything that we didn't like - everything is delicious. I work near Groovy Duck and first stopped in the shop to purchase cupcakes for an impromptu work function. They didn't have what I needed, so I ended up leaving without making a purchase. My second visit was for a planned work event. We wanted a large number of small desserts and Groovy Duck had a ton of options. They make mini pies, mini cupcakes, great options for entertaining. The cost makes buying your party desserts a better option than trying to make them yourself. You can pick flavors by the dozen, and your desserts are ready on time. Our mini pies were still warm when we picked them up. The only reason I didn't give Groovy Duck 5 stars is they can be a little hard to get to. Otherwise, the service was very helpful, the flavors were great and I would definitely recommend Groovy Duck. read more
