Pulled into Franklin,TN after traveling all day. Exhausted and Working on Hangry (because a stop earlier in the day my order didn't get turned in it was a mistake and I didn't really mind but was getting kinda hungry). I say all this to make a point!! This place was so delicious and worth waiting for! The sweet potato fries were so delicious and the dipping sauce equally yummy! The black and blue burger was AMAZING and my side salad was very tasty with field greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers , carrots and blue cheese crumbles you can opt out of cheese crumbles but I love them!! The bun-less burger with provolone cheese was something to remember as well and my grandson loved his grilled cheese. Definitely will come again when in the area. If you like gourmet burgers, then you might not be disappointed here. Just don't go with any expectations. You won't get table service. And, you have to clean up your own table. However, I've been here twice and liked it both times. It's a farm to table kind of place. Seat yourself. Get your own drink and clear your own table kind of place. On my most recent visit with the hubby and our baby, I ordered the Jordan's burger. Yum. It had a nice sauce and onion rings. Oh, and it had bacon! I would definitely order it again. My hubby liked his order - the Ground Melt. He thought his was great and tasted better than my burger. However, his was a melt. I felt it didn't compete with my "manly" burger! Ha-ha! His fries were crispy and salty. I asked for sweet potato fries (without salt added). They were perfect! My one-year old liked them, also. That leads me to the minus one star. I thought they didn't have many options for kids even though they offer free kids meals on Saturdays. (We went on a weekday.) Also, I would have liked a fruit cup as a side or any kind of pasta with cheese (aka mac & cheese) for my little one. It seemed like they had a lot of deep fried options. I really liked my burger. They do offer salad options. The kitchen is open, so you can watch them cook your meal. Or, you can watch sports on the TV. I was busy watching my baby boy who is actually a toddler now. I'm moving my review up to 4 stars after trying again with some owner recommendations. My husband had the black and blue this time and said it was fantastic. He also loved the fries. I went with my same plain pioneer burger but had them cook it medium and was really juicy this time. I got the mushroom nuggets because I LOVE fried mushrooms and they did not disappoint. The owner recommended the five alarm burger with spicy ranch and I may have to try that next time, but I wanted to try the same burger as last time just cooked medium. It was not nearly as crowded this time because we went early, which was nice! One of the best burgers in the area that I have had! It was my first time there and the service just wasn't there. Not very friendly and the atmosphere didn't make me feel invited. While ordering I asked if they had arugula and he couldn't even look up at me while I ordered. The burger itself did taste very fresh! I had the bacon mushroom Swiss and it was cooked perfectly other than the bacon and fries. The person who took our order asked if everything was going ok, if he didn't ask, I may have considered not coming back. Ground has perfected the plant-based burger. Period. We have eaten Impossible and Beyond burgers around the area, including Burger King, Burger Fi, various brew pubs. Nothing comes close to the impossible burger at Ground. Perfectly seasoned, crispy and wonderfully browned on the outside. No weirdness or aftertaste. We complimented the cook as to how good the burger tasted and how indistinguishable that it was to beef. He mentioned that the majority of customers ordering the impossible burger come back to the counter and ask if there was some mistake in their order suggesting that the real beef was accidentally substituted. A good burger from a non burger lover . My son is a burger aficionado and therefore I eat my fair share of burgers. Nice place simple decor and quick service. We both had the pioneer burger and the hand cut fries. This is my kid of burger a bit more in the simple side with the fixings and condiments to go with. I had only been once before tonight, but I had to go back and see if I was remembering it correctly. In my mind, this place had one of the best burgers I've ever had and the fries were the perfect crispy companion. But you know how you hype up things in your mind only to be let down later? Kind of like watching a movie as a kid and thinking it's the best movie only to find out watching it as an adult that it's pretty lame... I was afraid that would happen with Ground, but it lived up to the hype! I had every intention of taking a picture of my food to post here, but as soon as I got my BBQ burger I had to eat it. It's a perfectly seasoned and cooked patty. The ratio of ingredients is fantastically balanced. The fries are crispy and not too greasy. The price is a little high for having counter service rather than a waiter, BUT the meal itself was every bit as good (and better) than other sit down places I've been. I have been to this restaurant many times today the food was very very good the only issue I've seen of late is that the restaurant is very crowded and the tables and floors tend to be a little bit on the dirty side. It seems they could do a slightly better job in the upkeep especially given the amount of people that they are serving on a daily basis particularly on the weekends. The owner/manager Dan and his staff were incredible in their attention to detail. We had some burgers made very specifically and not a single detail was missed. The burgers were made perfectly as requested. I usually don't pay much attention when someone post a review and said "it was the best .....I have ever tasted".. Funny, that's what I am about to say. Wanted to try a new place and found this on Yelp. It was an incredible experience. I had trouble deciding what to order because everything on the menu sounded so good. The second we walked in the door the cooks greeted us and welcomed us a first time guests. The food was DELICIOUS. Perfectly cooked and looked just like the pictures. The main cook checked on us and even apologized for not checking further. I highly recommend stopping by. Their hamburgers are very very good. Picked this place out while visiting franklin based on previous reviews and they are dead on. Small place with indoor and outdoor seating and the burgers were great. I had the double black and bleu and it was very good and big! They give a lot of fries (and they seem to be hand cut fries) with every meal too so you won't leave hungry. My wife had a chili baked potato with minced jalapeños on it and she said it was spicy and delicious. Our kids had the kids cheeseburgers with fries and finished their burgers before I did which they normally don't. They also got a very generous portion of their delicious fries. If you're OK with disgustingly sticky floors, restrooms that have not been deep cleaned in months, surfaces that are covered - I mean covered - in grease, sticky residue, backs of chairs are so gross, when you move your chair, you'll want to wash your hands again. The iPad where you place your order is so filthy... all of this is confirmation that if their staff and owner think it's clean, think of their hands, and preparation habits. One of my favorite lunch spots! Cool Springs is a lunch-heavy market, so a restaurant here must nail the lunch service in order to survive. Despite being busy, Ground is always fast and satisfying! For the price, I don't think you can get a better quality burger. The patties are a good size, extending beyond the bun, but not too thick. Good ratio. Fries are fresh cut and perfectly crispy, and they're always served in a generous portion. I usually get the regular Pioneer burger with fries and switch up the cheese depending on my mood. Not feeling a burger? Ground also has chicken sandwiches and salads that are equally as delicious. In fact, they even have a bunless burger served with a salad for light/no carb eaters. All dressings are handmade, and my favorite by far is the spicy ranch. Even if I get a burger and fries, I always get a side of spicy ranch for dipping. The place is small, so I don't recommend coming with a large group. It's one of those restaurants where you order at the counter and are given a number, and when your number is called you grab your order. Very casual, but fast, fresh, and delicious. While the food at this business was good, I am very disappointed in the food handling. 2 of the 3 workers weren't wearing gloves but handling the food. One worker went and put a rug out on the dining room floor, then immediately came back in to the kitchen grabbed a handful of fries and threw them in the fryer. Another worker was handling dirty dishes, then started to prepare the toppings for the burgers. Both workers weren't wearing gloves nor washed their hands prior to handling the food. We DEFINITELY won't be returning. I do want to point out the main cook was wearing gloves, but he wasn't the one handling the buns or the toppings. Its easy to bag on the Hipster joints, but sometimes they do know how to star a trend. Ground makes a great Burger and a great Fry to go with it. All in front of you, and all with great ingredients. I ordered the Four Alarm Fire, which really was maybe Three Alarms, but it was probably better that it wasn't so hot I couldn't taste the burger! It probably helps that I have my hair cut near here so I don't need an excuse to drive all the way here JUST for the burger, and maybe as much as I did enjoy it I probably wouldn't traipse across town JUST for it but I absolutely enjoyed it and I absolutely plan on coming back. Weirdly enough when I visited, the Diet Coke soda dispenser was broken in such a way that you had to manually pull the handle back when you were done dispensing Diet Coke. Nobody seemed concerned about this, even though I stared dumbly at it while it shot Diet Coke into the overflow before I figured out how to get it to stop. Quick update to my original review: someone from the restaurant read and replied to my review. They seemed genuinely concerned about addressing both compliments and complaints. They not only addressed issues but offered explanations. Furthermore, they asked questions, indicative of really wanting to improve and be the best they can be. I know that Yelp is primarily for patrons, and I know owners/managers shouldn't obsess over Yelp reviews, but I REALLY appreciate when a restaurant at least reads reviews from time to time and tries to improve.
