I used to frequent when this was Sunsational, so I was surprised to see the new sign "Ground Shaker" as I drove up a few months ago. All I can say is they do not disappoint! I've been here several times (already filled up my stamp card and then some) and they have really exceeded my expectations. The food and drink options are all the same as before, but the service is much faster (and some would say friendlier) than the previous establishment. And they have completely redone the interior! I'm not a huge fan of cowboy motif in general, but at Ground Shaker it's very nicely done. They've even added a bar (with outlets) so you can come and hang- which I plan to do sometime. Of course, the drive thru is my preferred mode of coffee pick-up (so convenient and never super long waits). So glad we have an awesome, local coffee shop to support. This is a locally owned very Texas/Cowboy-themed coffee bar with all of the trimmings. There are large windows and plenty of seating to enjoy a coffee and conversation with a friend. They have a lot of options for snacks (no gluten-free options). I had an americano breve style with praline syrup and the suggestion of my helpful barista Kyle. Everyone there was very friendly and super busy. It met all my expectations so I recommend this as a try for anyone else. read more

I know. I know. It's cliche, but Ground Shaker Coffee Bar is such a breath of fresh air; a definite welcome addition to the lacking coffee scene in Surprise. Don't get me wrong there are a couple great shops nearby, but my experience here today was nothing but awesome. Walking in I knew instantly they've already made a great impression on many. There were many groups of people inside enjoying their coffee and food items. What was once Sunsational Coffee, Ground Shaker has taken over. The entire location has been remodeled inside and it is amazing. One of the great things they've kept is the drive through option. Talking with the barista she said they bought out the previous shop, left a lot of the menu, but again the vibe and decor is a thousand times better. It gives off more of a downtown coffee shop, but still with a small town feel. In my opinion it is what has been needed here for so long. There is bar seating, casual comfy chairs, as well as larger tables for groups. Large windows bring in great lighting and had me feeling right at home. Pricing is good for what you get and drinks go up to XL. They offer a lot of breakfast items as well as lunch wraps. Service was wonderful and they were keeping up well with the large rush this Saturday morning. I asked a few questions before finalizing my order. I was pleased to hear they offer so many more assorted drinks than what is on the visual menu. I chose an iced white chocolate peppermint mocha this morning, an iced vanilla latte, a bagel with cream cheese and a breakfast sandwich on an English muffin with egg, bacon and sausage. Everything came out quickly and was delicious. I really enjoyed that the added flavor didn't overpower the actual coffee. The coffee was great and just the caffeine bump I needed for a long day of sports with the kids. All in all I can't wait to come back. I can see myself spending some downtime here. read more

A friend told me so I had to come try it, I've been twice now and vanilla latte is the way to go I tried their honey churro latte and it was a bit too sweet for me, they also have some food options, not sure about desserts, I've gone through the drive thru both times so I'll have to walk in next time, wait time is not too bad, and service is good, it was a little rushed but good. read more

What a fun little coffee shop! The coffees and teas are delicious, and the breakfast sandwiches are fantastic. However, the true highlight of this place is the staff. Our server, a friendly guy with piercings, was incredibly nice and attentive. His positive energy made our visit even more enjoyable. We will for sure be back next time we are in town! read more

I have been going here for years, since it was Sunsational Coffee. Since the rebrand to Ground Shaker, the service has not been great. When you are in here, the workers just hang out on their phones and talk loudly which can be pretty distracting when you are trying to get work done. And every worker seems incredibly unhappy to be here. When I enter I almost feel bad getting a coffee because they seem so upset! I will say, the espresso here is still some of my favorite espresso there is. However, I don't really like anything else on their menu. It used to be a really cute and welcoming atmosphere, but I just really feel like the bad customer service really has changed that. However, I still love to go through the drive thru sometimes to get my morning coffee! read more

So this place is called ground shakers and guess what they don't sell coffee. It's all expresó. I go in there and there is a man and a woman trying to work the register to print out an itemized receipt. After waiting for a while I see that the third employee is available and I asked her for a medium roast with a splash of cream with some auger in the raw. She telling me I need to wait to get rung up. Would not even listen to what I am ordering and then I repeated that all I would like is a cup of coffee black then she says oh we don't sell Drip coffee. Only expresso. This place has excellent coffee! It's actually GOOD quality coffee. They use a private roaster for their beans. I didn't realize how crappy quality the big chain places are until I made the decision to only start going to local, small business owned coffee shops. Tons of flavor options to choose from here..my go to is Macadamia Nut and White Chocolate latte. The staff is super friendly and knows all their regulars by name which is a nice touch. Shout out to the amazing girls that were working morning of Memorial Day with their great recommendations! They have a drive through too! Ambience is good, perfect corner location. Love the americano coffee and coffee cake/muffin.

Breakfast burritos are good eggs, sausage, peppers, cheese. Close to home and has a friendly atmosphere. We will definitely visit again.

I can't comment on the food/coffee but I can say the service here is atrocious. My husband and I went there on weekday morning around 10am, walked in and said hi to the person behind counter and commented on how cute the place is and we were just blankly stared at... my husband proceeded to ask "how are you doing today?" And the woman just responded with a very dry "good", never asked can I help you, can I take your order... just made it clear that they did not want us there. We felt uncomfortable and just left. Lacks service. I brought my fiancé here because we wanted to try a non-chain coffee shop hoping to find a new favorite. We walked in to a cute shop, love the decor. Observed the menu from a distance for a minute, and when we made a decision, we stepped up to the counter to order. There was a male at the register and two ladies behind the counter. And there was a lady customer sitting at the bar. We waited to be greeted and provide our order, but no eye contact was made and the guy talked about himself to the three ladies that were engaged in the conversation. After a while, I finally asked if he was planning on greeting us and taking our order. He seemed surprised that I asked. I told him we would have loved to place and order, but as we weren't even greeted, we were no longer interested. Super disappointed in the lack of interest in obtaining a new customer, and the lack of excitement for providing an experience. Let me start by saying i came early in the morning today and I tried the Asian style coffee and it was great but... fast forward to 2 hours later when everybody in the doctors' office saw what I was drinking they all decided to try it because everything I usually tell them to try is usually good. So the head supervisor takes everybody's orders and goes to pick up coffee when she gets there, she was approached by a young worker charging her higher than what one of the sandwiches displayed on the wall... The way my coworker was even spoken to was rude and belittling. We were coming over here to bring so much business to you guys as we usually buy coffee every day and we're tired of the competitors so we decided to try you guys out. This could've brought a lot of business to your company. I don't even know if anybody in the office wants to come back to this setting as #1 very unprofessional and #2 the prices displayed don't match up. Yeah it's an inflation, but if you would think you put enough thought into decorating your place you would change display prices as they change..... the only thing I can say that was great was the gentleman early in the morning that helped me very polite while the other employee should learn customer service..... oh by the way soon as she started the next customer's order this is what she says, "Oh you're a nurse!!!! Do you want a discount?!?!?" Wtf??? We walked in with scrubs is this business selective on wtf they give discounts to???? Gtfoh!! Love the decor and music in this place. The coffee is pretty bitter though, and they have the most uncomfortable chairs around. They DO have good food choices. This is a good backup when Spencer's Place is either closed or too packed. read more

Coffee taste great! Received my coffee and thought they just didn't wipe the side but when I picked it up to take a drink it had a whole in the side of the cup. Over half of it was in my cup holder by the time I got home. I called to let them know to see what their customer service would be like and no replacement offered. Just a thank you for letting me know. Was not super friendly while in drive through either. Seemed to me more interested in chatting with one another about pink cowboy hats. We stopped by this morning to see what had changed with the transfer from Sunsational to Ground Shaker Coffee Bar. The remodel looks great and there were many people enjoying coffee and food both inside and outside. The most important thing to me was the delicious cold brew (best in the valley in my opinion) has not changed. Still delicious!
