This has to be a hidden treasure, small and unassuming with great food, bao buns are great, especially the shrimp, so good!!!

i'm not sure how to convey how wonderful this place is. from the food to the service and the atmosphere, everything is 5 stars. the menu is fantastic, plenty of options for a wide variety of palates. they are very accommodating for vegetarians and offer a variety of meat free dishes. i've been here twice so far and can't wait to go again. the food is prepared with love, and the flavors are excellent. ingredients are very fresh and sourced well, and the service is absolutely lovely! we had been in once before and the woman who served us remembered us. they definitely care about their customers and it shows. seriously, give this place a try and you won't regret it. they are very accommodating, professional, and make excellent food. i personally highly recommend the green curry, it's wonderfully rich and perfectly filling. such a hidden gem. read more

Amazing dining experience. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the service is not great. As this is my third time here, I've given them a chance to improve service, but it hasn't happened. They are very friendly and courteous and the food is so good that the slow service almost doesn't diminish the experience. Still, it can be frustrating. Definitely worth a visit, but leave extra time and be sure to ask for your plates, utensils and napkins BEFORE the food comes or you might be waiting for a while with a bowl of delicious food in front of you and nothing to eat it with. read more

Such a fantastic spot with a very friendly staff and excellent food. I ordered off the chef specials for the day. I had the tofu buns for an appetizer which were so good I could have cried haha. I had to physically refrain from ordering 2 more orders for myself. The bokchoy with shitake and king oyster mushroom in garlic sauce was brilliant. Great flavor and fresh ingredients. And I finished with the sticky rice and mango, another fantastic dish. I can't wait to go back here regularly and try everything they have to offer, fantastic restaurant. Highly recommend. read more

What a great addition to the neighborhood. I love little mom and pop shops like this. It feels as if your being welcomed into a home kitchen and not a restaurant. Caroline was our server, she was great. Very friendly, attentive and answered any of our questions. It was busy and she was still attentive to all her guests as well as phone and togo orders. Now onto the food, it was amazing at minimum!! I haven't been this excited to explore a menu in a long time. Korean bbq buns were amazing, this is addictive food, but in the best way possible. Chicken dumplings perfectly crispy and full of flavor. My girlfriend ordered the Indonesian rice which has such a unique flavor, a must try. We also tried the chili wings and smack chicken lettuce wraps. Everything was very flavorful and very fresh. I can't wait to go back and explore the menu. Kudos to the chef for coming out and asking how our experience was, it really drives home how much care is put into not just the food, but the experience here as well. read more

This is an amazing find. I was lucky enough to have sampled this extraordinary cuisine a few months back at their original location in Pearl River NY. Now they're at this new location. Don't let the casual look of this place fool you. This is top shelf food. Created by Waree (owner and chef). You will be transferred to the origins the food came from. Each dish created with hours of care so to accentuate each layered flavor. You can almost taste the time that was put into melding the ingredients to make each dish. From beef to chicken to vegetarian. Is there nothing this chef can do in the kitchen?? I think not. I traveled 38 miles one way to enjoy this meal. It was well worth the trip. I come to The Grub at least once a week with my parents. We absolutely love their food... my personal favorite is the stir fry with duck! It comes with a sunny side up egg on white rice and it is so simple yet delicious! The service is fantastic!! I really enjoyed this little restaurant! Friendly service, clean and pleasant atmosphere, and delicious food. We had vegetarian pad Thai and several other tofu dishes; the fried tofu was crispy and perfect, and the pad Thai was flavorful and not overly sweet. Great Thai iced tea, too! read more

My husband and I ate here yesterday for lunch. We wanted to try this new place since we went to a party in the past where the owner had catered it and the food was delicious. We ordered 4 of their small plates to share so we could get a taste of a bunch of different things. We had the shrimp spring rolls, the steamed chicken dumplings, the Korean beef barbecue buns and the spicy Thai chicken lettuce wraps. It all was delicious!! I love the Korean beef barbecue buns while my husband likes the lettuce wrap best. All the food came out fresh and hot. Our waitress (unfortunately, I didn't catch her name) was real friendly and efficient. I saw other reviews were they talked about the service and long wait but we didn't find this the case at all. We were in and out in no time with full bellies. I look forward to returning. read more

I want to start off by saying that if more people knew how good this place it would be impossible to get a table. The food is so unbelievably amazing, fresh and authentically Thai. This small unpretentious restaurant is serving high quality Thai dishes for very reasonable prices. The Shrimp Spring Rolls are by far the best I've ever had. My family eats Thai food pretty regularly and this is by far the best Thai restaurant that we've eaten in. Today I ordered the whole fish in Thai Basil sauce that was heavenly-I'm not sure if it was supposed to be for 1 or 2 people but I ate the entire thing. The fish was so fresh and delicious and cooked perfectly crispy. The sauce was the perfect amount of spice and loaded with veggies. In speaking with the owner(who is a sweetheart), I've learned that they only use the highest quality, fresh and authentic ingredients and it certainly shows in the taste of the food. I only recently discovered this place and have been back at least twice per week since. Absolutely love and HIGHLY recommend! read more

The reviews are right... Grub is a must-visit. Casual, clean, and unpretentious atmosphere, tucked in a little strip mall in West Nyack... home to a very well-thought-out and unique menu of Asian fusion offerings. Definitely try the "smack sauce" chicken thai lettuce wraps and the Korean BBQ buns or plate. Great for dine-in or take-out. Either way, you'll be treated like family. Very attentive service and clean environment Ordered thai spiced wings, lettuce cups w/chicken(spicy), fried chicken dumplings, shrimp spring rolls, buns w/korean beef. I live 3 minutes from here. Have I been back? No. Have I recommended it to anyone? No. Aren't these two of the best measures of a great restaurant? As others have said, the food is better than the service/experience...but that's if you order the appetizers and more exotic dishes. The other items tasted like typical Chinese food. The bigger problem is the service/experience -- they don't yet have their act together. The staff was clearly overwhelmed, frantically running around from table to table, answering the phone, food was coming out late -- and wrong -- to multiple tables around us (there are only 8-10 tables in the whole place). The restaurant decor was nice, but for dinner they had the lights on full blast. Note to owner: dim the lights for dinner, add some simple table lighting to create some "atmosphere" and your score immediately goes up. Until then, you're on my take-out list only (maybe). But, I'm rooting for you! read more
