    Garlic Ramen

We had a very pleasant Friday dinner at Grub. The server was very friendly and helpful with the ordering. We ordered the softshell crab, portobello bulgoggi and chicken lettuce wraps for appetizers. The portobello bulgoggi was my favorite of the 3. The softshell crab was good, but it was a bit heavy with the batter and I couldn't taste much crab. For the main meal, our group ordered the chicken Roti, coconut garlic rice with both chicken and duck, and a garlic ramen. The coconut garlic rice was very nice, but the duck while tasty, was battered and fried. All the dishes were good but all the dishes were heavily seasoned and a bit heavy. Next time, I would lighten up the meal with a salad. Interesting menu and worth a try.

The place is in a great location. Peaceful and quiet just how I like it. I will say the service was great had fantastic suggestions when asked. Tried the Curried Chicken empanadas as an appetizer. As mentioned earlier I went with a suggestion which was the drunken noodles and it was fantastic. The portion was big and filling. Will return again

It was crowded and they were BUSY on a working Wednesday. I guess the food being this good, it would be a destination! Grub by Chef Waree is a gem. We had the Stewed Beef soup with rice noodles. Umami was off the charts with the soup. That meant that each slurp of perfectly cooked noodle was nicely coated with enough tasty broth not to need anything else. What was important to me was the great blend of textures with Gailan nicely chopped and perfectly cooked, fresh bean sprouts, and the rice noodles and tender, tasty beef chunks. The Phad Thai with Crispy Duck was well flavored and nicely spicy for "medium". The phat thai was generously sauced without drowning in sauce. Great service and a welcoming atmosphere.

We got here at 5pm on a Saturday night so it hadn't gotten crazy yet. We'd tried to come months ago, but the wait was going to be an hour, so we left (they do take reservations for 3+ diners). We started with steamed shrimp dumplings. Very nice. And then we split Roti Chicken Canai (mild and tasty) and Red Curry Shrimp (medium hot, so be sure to check if the hot level is okay for you!) Our server (and owner?) was super attentive. They do a brisk take-out biz as well. The phone didn't stop ringing! Seems like they're hustling pretty well. Now that we know to come before the 6pm rush, we'll be back.

super skimpy on the lettuce wraps. was hoping the first time i ordered it was just a blip but it's bad. the first time i got them there were 3 baby shrimp in a huge thing of lettuce

Lots of variety and so much to choose from. We ordered a variety of drinks + 14 dishes, and most of them we loved. We loved the red curry with crispy cod and the the mussels. The garlic wings and lettuce wraps were also delicious. Save room for the mango sticky rice and mango cheesecake. Place is small and not made for crowds. So parties of 4 or less do better here. We had an awesome server that was super helpful and he was patient. We will be back to try more dishes...just not the Laksa Soup Noodles. We tried the duck and shrimp version of this. If you like a sweet broth this might work for you though. Our lychee cocktail and iced tea was so yummy! One of the two fresh coconuts tasted like it was old and fermented. So avoid that as I think it's from the freezer or sitting around too long.

If you do dine here, I suggest skipping the appetizers and going straight to the main course options. Regarding the apps, the duck pancake was actually in a green wrap (which seemed odd) and the sauce overpowered the bits of duck inside. The spring rolls were large and had what looked to be alternative meat or something with similar consistency and didn't seem overall that fresh. The fried spring rolls were "ok." The best thing was the pad prik with veggies and tofu which wasn't oily but also didn't feel like it was amazing. It appears you can order online when they're open which is a plus if you hate using the phone. I'll leave the caveat that I'm not a Thai food connoisseur but usually enjoy it. I wish that I felt more positive since it's a small business! Maybe I'd give them another chance if I was eating in the restaurant. Metered street parking and doesn't seem too hard to find parking. No credit card processing fee.

Everything we had was delicious. We tried their off-menu corned beef spring roll (highly recommend!) and then shared a mix of classics: Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, and Thai Basil Fried Rice. We would definitely go back!

I recently stopped by Karenderya in Nyack looking for some good Asian comfort food, and it definitely hit the spot. Known for delicious, made-from-scratch dishes, they were flavorful, fresh, and clearly cooked with care. The menu offers a wonderful introduction to Filipino cuisine, with hearty, satisfying dishes that feel comforting, taste scrumptious, and speaking for myself - as I rarely go to Filipino eateries due to my location, unique. The cashier/waitress was attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout my visit. While the atmosphere is fairly simple and not really the reason to come here, the focus is clearly on the food, and that's where Karenderya shines. This is an excellent option for takeout, and many of the dishes would be perfect to bring to a potluck or family gathering. Despite Nyack's often challenging parking situation, I found parking easy enough nearby, which was a pleasant surprise. Service can be slow when crowded, be forwarned. If you're looking for authentic, delicious Filipino-inspired food and don't need a fancy dining room, Karenderya is absolutely worth a visit.

In comparison, the pancit was ok but didn't really stand out/not my favorite (perhaps a bit mild in taste compared to the other dishes. Finally! A place in my own town that I can rate 5 stars…read more Cooper's is a small pub located in Pearl River. There's street parking around the neighborhood that becomes free after 6. I suggest you head towards the houses, away from town, if you can't find a spot. I've been anxious to try this place as the pictures look solid enough and reviewers thus far seem content. My wife and I entered with plans to have beer and apps. We ended up getting Guinness, onion rings, fried calamari and the Cooper's Burger. You can't beat a 22oz Guinness for $8. The prices on their website also match what you'll see inside. Lately I find so many restaurants are charging more than they advertise online. Service was great, friendly and very attentive. I was also surprised to see how well they clean tables between customers. Spray, wipe table, wipe lamp, shakers, etc. It's totally clean for the next customer. There are only 8 or so tables in here, plus bar seating. We enjoyed some comfy seats at a high top table for two. The onion rings were great - crisp and battered nicely so they hold together. While almost a little overcooked, they were still good and better than I had at the last high end steakhouse I went to. The fried calamari was fairly priced and a good portion. It had a light crispness, though bigger pieces would've been nicer. They were mostly small, but certainly a lot of it. The accompanying marinara was good and plentiful. We got the Cooper's Burger cooked medium and it came out medium. It's a simple burger that comes with lettuce and tomato. Some red onion wouldn't been nice. They charge extra for all sorts of stuff you can get on top - fried mushrooms, fried onions, eggs, etc. It also comes with fries, which were good. Overall, it was a nice cozy time. Several middle aged couples ate here that night and a couple small groups. No loud bar crowds as they're all on central avenue. In fact, I was surprised how nice the acoustics were inside. You can hear people at your table no problem, can hear the music inside at the right level and don't hear a lot of background chatter or noise. I'd most certainly return if in the mood for pub food.
