Opened in 2002 in Granbury and now they have locations in Stephenville, Cleburne and Burleson. I've been to three locations so far and they all have a great atmosphere and personally to love. I always drive by and want to try this place; I finally got the chance to yesterday and it did not disappoint. Easily the best burger I have ever had. The fries are also amazing... the regular and the sweet potato both. The whiffle ball area is super cool and the whole place is a really cool joint just to be at. Great food! Food is fantastic. Staff is very friendly and the owner is super nice and really cares about his customers. I would definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a good family hamburger restaurant. Don't forget to order their onion rings or homemade potato chips. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. It's a great place to take the kids. Seating can be a bit of a trick during busy times, but with good weather you can dine on their patio behind the restaurant. Had a great experience eating lunch one Wednesday afternoon at Grumps. We just beat the lunch rush and were glad we did as tables started filling up. I had a Swiss/Mushroom burger and, with two other friends, split orders of fried pickles, fries and onion rings. There wasn't a crumb left on our table after we were done enjoying the food. The food took a while to be served (probably 15-20 mins), but the peanuts on the table made the wait easy, and the service (lots of offers to refill our drinks, etc) made the wait worth it. I was in cheeseburger heaven. Why? This burger was exactly what I wanted... and more. The grilled onions were grilled to the point of caramelization! The cheese was REAL cheese. The mayo was REAL mayonnaise. The meat was finely ground and cooked to medium well perfection. To top it off, I was served my draft ZiegenBock in an icy, cold, frosted glass. For restaurant burgers, I think Grump's is easily the best in the area for sure, maybe in the state. The choices are enough to give everyone whatever they want, but not so abundant as to be confounding. The fries are also worth showing up for (this is not always the case at other burger places). I had a BBQ bacon cheeseburger. my wife had the guacamole burger. they don't ask how you want it cooked, which is fine...the cooks know what they're doing. the beef was excellent quality, large portions and juicy. buns are very good. fries are fine, onion rings good, homemade chips platter is the winner. highly recommended. read more

I've enjoyed the cheeseburgers, but my favorite is the patty melt with a side of order of au jus. Nasty perfectness.........I am yearning for one now! And I do HAVE to mention the huge margarita swirls that come to you ice cold into your warm hands. They have a kick to them and will freeze your brain one way or another! The decor is entertaining - always something new to see and has a real sense of communuty. The beer is ICE cold and the sides are a great accent to any burger. Grumps is exactly what a burger joint should be, and thankfully it doesn't try to be anything but. The burgers are big, juicy, and loaded down with whatever you want, from your traditional lettuce and tomato to a big honkin' chili cheese monster that fills you up and then some. Of course, you can't have a burger without fries, and the fries at Grumps are that perfect combination of crispy and greasy (creasy? grispy?) that we all hate to admit we love. Be warned. Driving around our old town of granbury looking for some chow. I drove by this place first and didn't even notice. This was an old gun shop years ago. So after not finding something to satisfy my hunger, I noticed a burger joint and we went in. Reminds me of of few other places I've been and what struck me the most is the aroma of the burger. So we lazily walked up to the counter and ordered our chow. I had the BBQ bacon cheeseburger, I swapped the American for Monterey Jack cheese. The burger was awesome, so was the home made chips.
