Grumpy's in Neptune Beach absolutely lived up to the hype! The food was incredible and the atmosphere was warm, clean, and inviting from the moment we walked in. The servers were friendly and made the entire experience even better. We were even given $5 Grumpy bucks since it was our first visit. The chicken and waffles were hands down one of the best breakfast dishes I've had in a long time -- three HUGE pieces of perfectly seasoned fried chicken that were crispy on the outside and unbelievably moist on the inside and paired with fluffy waffles. I added fresh strawberries. The meal included a side of Dave's hot honey and berry butter. Every bite was amazing. The country fried steak and eggs were just as impressive. The steak was crispy, tender, and covered in rich, flavorful gravy with perfectly cooked eggs and crispy hash browns on the side. You can tell Grumpy's pays attention to both quality and presentation. Great food, generous portions, excellent service, and a cozy modern diner atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

How yummy is this place for breakfast!! We came in on a Sunday morning with 6 people and a dog and we were given a lovely table on the patio. Everyone had an amazing breakfast from chicken fried steak to vegetable omelets! Great food and the staff is amazing!! We will definitely be back!!

I came here for breakfast after watching the sunrise, so around 7am. It's close to town center and the beach so that's a plus! Walking in that early, it was fairly empty and i sat by the bar. I was greeted immediately and was brought out my drinks (water & coffee). I ordered corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and Swiss cheese, hash browns, and a biscuit. It came out fairly quickly which was nice. The servers were also super nice and attentive. And as a bonus, I think this place originated in Jax so you're going somewhere local technically. Definitely a must!!

We were in the area to run some errands this morning and decided to have breakfast here. The restaurant was pretty full inside but we were able to get a table fairly quickly. They have indoor, outdoor, and counter seating. The menu is big and offers both breakfast and lunch options. I had the vegetable and cheese omelete with hash browns and rye toast. The serving was very generous and tasted great. My sister made her own omelette and chose sausage, mushrooms and cheese. She also loved her meal. Service was good from our server, Jeremy. They also serve drinks and had an adorable drink cart decorated in red, white and blue colors.

Stopped by for breakfast and so glad we did. They have inside and outside seating. We picked inside and so glad we did. Every server should be like Rita, our server. She was so friendly and treated us as though we were friends hanging out at her home. She greeted us immediately asking us what we would like to drink. Our drinks came quickly and we ordered. My son has Down syndrome but she talked directly to him. This sounds like a small thing but it's not. Most people want to talk to me even though he's grown and sitting right there. Our order came out pretty fast and everything was correct. Someone else brought out our food, but it wasn't long before Rita stopped by to make sure we were ok. Our food came out fresh and hot. Prices were reasonable (except for soft drinks, $3.89 for a glass seems a bit much) so we will definitely be back when in the area. And we will be sure to ask to be seated in Rita's area!

Today our group met at the infamous Grumpy's. Sometimes I order... sometimes I don't. Today I thought -- let's get something delicious. I went with the avocado toast with a poached egg -- and I truly wasn't sure what to expect. What I didn't expect? This ginormous feast. Look at all that avocado -- not the tiny smear so many places give you. Fresh sprouts? Yes please. Poached egg? I'll probably skip that next time, but still beautifully done. And a full bowl of fruit on the side. The service was outstanding -- and with about 12 of us in the group, that's no small feat. I didn't catch the server's name since someone else generously covered our meal (thank you, mysterious breakfast hero ), but everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. As someone with celiac -- aka gluten-free required -- it's always a win to find a place where I can go out and eat like a queen.

This was our 2nd time eating at the Neptune Beach location & thoroughly enjoyed! We came back in June & had breakfast plates! They were amazing! Came today & had lunch plates! They were just as amazing! Better come hungry because the portions are gigantic! Very delicious & every time we come to JAX we will stop in and eat at Grumpy's!!! The waiter on 1st visit was amazing & the waitress today was amazing! Stevie the manager was very warm & friendly as well!

Great service Daniel was friendly and attentive. Our group were happy with our food and service. Portions were generous. Dad joked that you definitely won't leave here grumpy great food And they keep the coffee mug full. Menu has many options. They were also very busy but they had plenty of staff to accommodate. Great casual beach breakfast brunch spot.

Finally made it out to a Grumpy's location here in Jax, thanks to a recommendation from a fellow Elite we all know and love -- Chef James D! Sunday brunch at the Neptune Beach location was a real treat. Heads up: parking can be a little tricky unless you're driving a truck . We arrived around 11:45 AM and were quoted a 15-20 minute wait for two, but ended up snagging a cozy booth in the back within 5 minutes -- love when that happens. Our server was fantastic: knowledgeable about the full menu, quick to recommend specials, and impressively handled making our alcoholic drinks despite how busy the restaurant was. I ordered one of their classic breakfast combos (either #2 or #3), while my plus one went with the day's special: a steak omelette. Both dishes were hearty, piping hot, and gave a real bang for your buck. Grumpy's marketing team has reached out to me before offering a complimentary meal in exchange for social media content. I hadn't taken them up on it -- but after finally experiencing it for myself and being genuinely impressed, I'll definitely keep them in mind for future collabs. I can't sell what I haven't tried myself - full transparency. It's definitely share worthy. Huge thanks to James D. for the solid recommendation! Left very happy with the service, food, and overall vibe.

Service is always awesome here. The servers are good at anticipating your needs and providing things before you even know you need them-- today was our servers birthday and she made the experience so much better. Food is HOT & Fresh! ***Pro tip: Berry butter is delicious. Get your hash browns "scattered & crispy". For bread options...get the Asiago. Trust me.

We were on a road trip to Jacksonville Beach and decided to order pickup breakfast at Grumpy's while in JB on 12/21/24. The reviews looked good for the most part so we ordered and picked up breakfast for our room. The restaurant is cute and nicely decorated and was filled with people. It looked encouraging. I ordered the Ham n Cheese omelet thinking that it should be perfection. Unfortunately, it wasn't! It was so dry and tasted weird. Overcooked. I was starving so I didn't want to drive back and wait again for a new order. My daughter ordered the seafood omelet and her order had the same problem, dried out and didn't taste well. We couldn't finish them and threw them away. We had also ordered a Belgian waffle to share and luckily, it tasted ok and the maple syrup was good. So disappointed. Our server was Cameron. Our sad little breakfast cost us $60. We will not be going back.

I was a little incredulous that a former Sailor could run an Asian restaurant with such awesome ramen! Well, now I believe everything I heard. As a former sailor, upon entry I immediately fell in love with the Navy decor, pictures, and even the tables in the dining area had the seals of ships and other commands past and present on the table top art that gave a tremendous nostalgic feel to an old sea warrior like me! OK, I was a Chaps - I gave spiritual support to those warriors. Nevertheless, the ramen bowls here are a work of artistic beauty! I felt like I needed to stare at my meal for an hour before daring to touch it! On this day, we had the Bayou Ramen and the Traditional Ramen. The Bayou Ramen has a real Cajun spicing to it - unmistakable in every way. It has some heat to it, but not heavy - I'd say it was just about right for my taste. The shrimp and sausage in it were perfectly prepped - I could have taken some home but didn't - just couldn't stop eating this! It also included carrots, corn, a seasoned egg, scallions, ramen noodles in chicken bayou broth. If you like ramen of a Cajun variety, you'll love this! The traditional ramen bowl was pretty basic. You could have a choice of broth, but the basic version has little to no heat factor. It comes with roast pork, bok choy, carrots, corn, seasoned eggs, scallions, ramen noodles. I had the leftovers of this ramen bowl the next day and it was outstanding too! In addition, when you come here, you MUST get the fried chicken! It's among the best I've ever tasted. It's definitely bested KFC in my book! Anyone who wants to try a solid ramen restaurant which classic offerings and some creative versions of ramen, must visit Hangar Bay! I will add that the service we received as terrific! For a little while, I felt like I was eating on the mess deck again! I'll surely be back! Recommend: VERY HIGH!
