Back again to try Vinny's after coming for the soft opening. The bar is open! Staff is friendly and they have good chips now. They are still working out some kinks of a new restaurant but it has a chill vibe. Warning: the enchilada/wet sauces are spicy and the drinks are strong.

Our new happy hour hangout (3pm-6pm)! I recommend the fish tacos ! Love their spicy margaritas with jalapeños and Tajin rim in these fun new Mexican tumblers Chris got from Puerto Vallarta! Attentive servers! Fun bartenders!

salsa verde with guacamole and salsa roja(red) with mayo?

First time here, I ordered two plates of Quesabirria's, 3 for $19. (Price is quite high coming at $6.34 each. It's not worth it.)They didn't come with radish slices. Which are usual garnishes for this style of plate. The meat didn't have birria flavor, tasted like plain beef. I do like that they only used 1 tortilla. I also ordered a side of carnitas. Weirdest carnitas I have ever tasted. Nutmeg, cinnamon and slightly sweet. These were not authentic carnitas. I would call this pulled pork. Carnitas are usually on the salty flavors and when cooked in their own fat, they have a delicious pork flavor. The salsa's were good but they also lacked salt. The red salsa has a mayo flavor. Again not authentic. As well as no chips for a to go order. Over all for a basic food order, I would not recommend this place. Nor will I come back. I was told by many locals it wasn't that good and lacked flavor. I had to try it myself since I love tasting quesabirria's plates and carnitas in different surrounding cities. The service was great. The waitress was kind and took my order. The chef answered my questions and was helpful. The Ambience was normal, a style of taqueria you find in America. Nothing special. The bathroom was clean. The 1 star is for the Employee's and cleanliness. 4-5 stars has everything to do with the authenticity and flavors of the food. I can't understand why this place has such high stars. Since it opened, it's been lacking the sazón.

New small business, excellent food, and service! Ambience are nice. It's also a very clean.! The price of the food is average for the area!! The menu is small but excellent focus on flavor of food and Service

3 salsas: green is mild, orange is spicy and the red is medium. They were all great, but my favorite was the orange/spicy!

This is such a cute little spot in downtown Clayton. We hadn't tried it before and were at the park with our kids on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, so we decided to try it out! It's literally right next to the Grove. We were greeted and the waitress was very friendly. The downsides are they charge for chips and salsa and there is no fountain coke. Boo. However, we ordered the chips and salsa and it was delicious. Bottomless chips and they give you 3 different types of salsas. They were all pretty good, but the "spicy" one (it wasn't very spicy) was my favorite. It was very yummy, reminded me of nacho cheese, but more of a salsa. The medium salsa (the red one) was also good. We ordered the steak fajitas with flour tortillas. It was very good. Next time I would ask for no mushrooms. Their menu doesn't include the ingredients in the dish, so we didn't know. But it was very tasty and we were very happy with it. We also asked for some cheese which ended up being $2 extra and it was like a Mexican blend of shredded cheese (we usually prefer jack). There is no kids menu, but we ordered our kids the cheese quesadillas appetizer and it was huge. For $12, that was a big come up, especially since they shared and it was plenty. So overall a nice experience and we will be returning, but just a couple things that kept it from being a 5 star review.

I ordered a burrito from the menu board, which clearly states "choice of any meat." However, when I paid, I was charged an additional $0.97 for the meat I selected. If the menu advertises a choice of any meat, customers shouldn't be surprised with an extra charge depending on the option. I brought this to the staff's attention after paying and mentioned that the menu board may need to be updated so it accurately reflects pricing. Unfortunately, the concern was not really addressed. It may seem like a small amount, but it's really about clear and honest menu pricing. I've supported this place many times before, so this was disappointing. I'd appreciate hearing from the owner about whether the menu will be corrected so future customers aren't confused by the "choice of any meat" wording.

Feb 2 2025 3.5 stars…read more Lately our go to Mexican eats is Cinco De Mayo in Martinez. Christians-smh. It is Sunday and Cinco is closed. The server and service here at Isla was perfect. I pointed out to he waiter that he had a crumb on his chin and he wiped and chuckled like a nice champ. The music is pleasant but a bit louder than needed so I brought out the earplugs. The entire indoor setup is nice. Our food is arriving after what seems like a long wait meaning either the food is being served fresh, hot and tasty, or we are in for a mediocre experience. Our two plates arrived. Chilli relleno and Grilled chicken enchilada. I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of the smallish squair white plates. Reminds me of trying to look upscale. We own plates like these and that didn't work. Wife's enchilada plate was covered with three hot and very tasty chicken filled food bombs plus sides. The chili plate looked a little weak (too much plate showing) but that was the tastiest chilli relleno ever in 40 years of me enjoying these. Served hot with cheese filled up to the ying yang, an extra spiciness I have never had before that I loved and me wishing I had a spoon to scrape up the end of the sauce. Unfortunately the smallish rice and bean servings on both plates were luke warm and tasted so so. . I had similar hotter to those with tv dinners back in the day. The two plates and a coke at $43 has me scratching my chin on whether we will make that drive again. That is unless it is Sunday. Then possibly. .

After giving it some thought, I decided to return and explore what it was about Isla that everyone raved over. This time around, I ordered the fish tacos, and I was hooked! Isla's fish tacos are phenomenal--easily the best in the area and a must-have every single time. I usually go for the tilapia, though I've sampled the red snapper as well. They come out super crispy on the outside yet remain incredibly moist inside, with the salsa and toppings melding together perfectly. I also visited their new location today and was pleasantly surprised by the ample parking and comfortable seating. The space is beautiful, making it even more enjoyable to stop by for those irresistible fish tacos. Here's a quick rundown of my ratings: Fish (all varieties): 8.7/10 Birria: 7/10 (good, but not their standout item) Carne Asada Super Burrito: 5.8/10 When it comes to satisfying my fish taco cravings, Isla remains the only choice.

To my pleasant surprise, the Yelp reviews were actually pretty solid too, so I figured why not give it a shot. The menu was pretty basic/standard, with all the usual Mexican food staples like Burritos, Tacos, Enchilada Plates, etc. But because it was my first time here, I decided to keep it simple and order a Regular Burrito with Carne Asada as my protein of choice. To my surprise, the burrito was actually pretty good. The Carne Asada had a lot of flavor and included a slight smoky taste to it, which isn't something I typically get from other nearby Mexican spots. The Reg Burrito size was decent. Not huge not small. My one issue was that the Burrito wasn't wrapped very tightly so when I picked it up, it kind of flopped to one side, and especially after I cut it in half, the filling started spilling out everywhere. Still though, the flavor was good. Price was quite standard too, at about $13.50 as of May 2026. Judging it solely based on the flavor, I'd come back to try some of their other dishes. One thing to keep in mind though is the restaurant itself is pretty small on the inside, so it might be a little cramped if you're coming with a big group.

Usually, we call in our order, but this time I decided to order through their website so I could pay ahead and schedule lunch pickup. That's when I noticed something shocking. The pricing on their website is much higher than on other platforms. On DoorDash, a regular taco is $3.85. On their own website, the same taco is listed for $6.04. The description online says "two soft corn tortillas," which I assumed meant two tacos (especially at double the price). When I picked up the order, I explained the pricing difference to the employee, hoping for clarification. Instead of being helpful, he was dismissive, made me feel small, and treated my question like it was silly. He even showed me their in-store total for three tacos $13.72 which made my point exactly: why was I charged $22.38 for the same three tacos just because I ordered through their own site? It's disappointing to feel taken advantage of as a loyal customer, and even more disappointing to be treated poorly when simply asking for an explanation. Unfortunately, this experience has me rethinking whether we'll be back. If you're gonna order ahead do it through door dash.
