Very disappointed in the quality of service here or should I say lack of customer service. Walked in with my co-worker on our lunch break around 2pm on a Friday ready to buy a few things we had been wanting to get. We walked in and 2 sales associates (a man and woman) were conversating in the entry way. They both stopped the conversation made eye contact with us looked us up and down, both had the expression on their face that they were not too pleased we were there, then continued their conversation. Immediately I felt discouraged to spend my money there just by the reaction they had on their face and lack of customer service. I figured maybe someone else would assist us and we would have a better experience, wrong! Not one person asked if we needed help with anything worst of all every associate that walked by made eye contact with us, sized us up and down then continued with either rushing to assist other customers browsing who came in after us or if wasn't that they were just standing around!!! . We straight up felt judged. I personally think it was because we weren't dressed up, who knows. A few thousand dollars was about to be dropped in less than 30 minutes but because of this experience we can take our money elsewhere. The people that work there should never ever judge a book by its cover. I work with very high end cliental who would never be caught dead at a Mall regardless of what labels it at had in it, who dress so casual and so dressed down that [if you were someone who is critical and judges others by their appearance] would never expect them to be someone who literally has no budget in shopping for the finest things. read more

The staff here is well informed about their luxury brand they represent and they are not forceful on selling you whatever it may be you are browsing. I personally love the mens shoes and accessories. I'm no stranger to luxury stores and I love the south coast plaza mall so much, but when I went into this Gucci store to purchase a classic black leather belt the sales associates were so rude!! I asked for my size belt and the lady brought out a size too small and when I pointed it out to her she told me it was the right size when it clearly wasn't. After she found out she brought a size too small she didn't even apologize for giving me push back and went to get me the correct size I wanted. She didn't offer to size me or anything so when I went to check out and was handed my bag my belt didn't have a box, but just a dust bag. I noticed it while I was walking around the mall so I went back into the store to ask for a box when the front door associates didn't believe that I had just bought it like 1 hour ago even though they saw me walk in originally. So they asked for my receipt which I showed them, and after whispering to another man they simply told me they didn't have any boxes....now I know Gucci belts are very popular but I found it very hard to believe they didn't proper packaging for the products. After going back and forth with them I ended up leaving the store with no box and a horrible experience. I know people might say it's only a box but when you purchase a luxury good packaging is expected! And more importantly the associates should be polite!! It's a shame the receipt doesn't have her name on it only an employee number or I would definitely have included it in this review. Later went to the Rodeo Drive store and got proper packaging and had a wonderful experience with the associates!! Although I've had my troubles in the past, especially with the ghetto security guard, I've decided to give Gucci in SCP another try. I'm glad to see the nasty security guard is gone and that they have hired more professionals. Over the past couple of months, Aaron has been helping me with my purchases and he is the best! Heather was our sales associate, and her professionalism assisting me and my gf for a pair of Gucci shoes that she wanted really impressed me. We are both in high luxury retail and we really learned a lot from Heather, I really appreciated the combination of professionalism while at the same time making us both feel like we're friends or even coworkers. We laughed we joked around and eventually since we were visiting from NorCal, Heather offered to have the shoes shipped to my gf house as they didn't have our size. My gf surprised me with a Gucci wallet for my bday which was super nice and thoughtful and of course expensive. The wallet was nice but thought I would exchange it for a different one later. Of course time passed and my wallet stayed wrapped unused in the Gucci box and bag it came in. Np that I couldn't return it or exchange it for a diff one since I exceeded the return policy days. Upon closer examination of the wallet I pull out someone's dmv appointment card scheduled for a future date and see some faint scratches on the front of my wallet. This wallet was purchased brand new from your store and gift wrapped. How is that you don't inspect your returned products to make sure they are pristine and undamaged before reselling? You don't even show people the product before it being wrapped and brought back out to make sure the buyer is satisfied with the purchase. Just really poor process when people are supposedly purchasing a so called high end product. Quite disappointing that such a brand giant doesn't inspect their product to the highest degree and I end up with a scratched wallet. read more

i always walk in to high-end stores not expecting good service. actually, i walk in expecting to be stared at, yet ignored. cuz after all, i'm not dressed nicely and not carrying a high-end bag. but my last few trips in here have proved me wrong...........sort of. i've learned the trick is in the time you go. if you go when they're relatively crowded, they're gonna ignore you unless you look like you belong. if you go when it's empty, they'll pay attention to you. doesn't make it right, but it helps. still.....i think the snobbyness of the employees comes through even after you make a purchase. i was here a couple weeks ago, purchased a belt bag and a wallet, and the sales girl (who surprisingly approached me while i was browsing) didn't give me her name or card. i'm guessing she assumed i won't be back. after all, i was just in jeans, a sweater and carrying a non high-end bag. fast forward two weeks later and i walk in early sunday, purposely in jeans, a t-shirt, flip flops and no make-up, fully ready to buy a new bag. i wanted the same girl to help me because i liked her, but since the store was so empty, the guy behind the counter right in front of the bag i wanted helped me before i could look for the girl. (i couldn't ask for her since she never gave me her name.) this guy (who never gave me his name either), was surprisingly nice too, but i think it's because i made it obvious i was ready to buy. the moral of the story is, if you're not a high-end person, you can't expect good service at a high-end store. and if you still like the product, you can't let this deter you from giving them your business. read more

Will keep my review short and sweet! Went in looking for the Soho Disco Bag, checked online to make sure the product was in store and it was! My husband and I decided to go the weekend of Chinese New Year, naturally the mall was packed with people. Upon entering GUCCI, I looked around at the displays to see if the bag was out for me to look at (it was not, but no big deal!). After a few minutes of poking around and looking at other merchandise, I then approached a Sales Associate on the floor by the name of Aaron Rogers. Let me just say, he made the entire in-store experience absolutely wonderful. He was attentive, complimentary and overall great. I went in over the weekend to see if I can get the scratches of my newly purchased bag of 3 weeks (which fell on the cement due to the loose strap) fixed. We were told that there is a waiting list of about 40 minutes to enter the store which was fine. We put our name down and we're advised that we will receive a text once it was our turn. About an hour and a half later of not receiving any communication, I asked how much longer it would be. After finally getting into the store, I explained to the sales agent what I'm in here for and she asked for a proof of purchase. I told her I have my online receipt on my phone and she proceeded by saying that she will grab someone from repairs and be right back. After 15-20 minutes of waiting with a baby, I see her helping another customer in the shoes department! I was furious at this point! We finally had someone else help us and were told that there will be a charge for the repair and that it will take about 2 weeks for the assessment. I expected much better customer service from a luxury brand like Gucci. I don't think I will shop at this location any time soon as it's evident that their employees need some retraining in customer service!!! read more

The Only reason I opened up a Yelp Account was because of GUCCI at Southcoast! I bought a belt there about 6 months ago. The belt is now in 3 different pieces the leather has split in two from normal wear?? $350 for a Gucci belt that lasts 6 months?? I also buy Ferragamo belts and they usually send it to get repaired if anything happens to the belt. I went in today with my wife to see what can be done about the belt falling apart I was willing to pay for the repairs if they could send it out. We walked in and were not even greeted as we walk in, We waited patiently and after 25 minutes of browsing around finally a lady named ASHLEY approaches my wife, we show her the belt and all she says is " This is not repairable and I am too busy right now" and walks away.???????????????????????? Went into South Coast Plaza Gucci boutique and they told me they didn't have enough cash for the return, had to accept a mail in corporation's check which never arrived until I had to call the store and was told the manager hadn't even written the check. Never ever had this experience with other boutiques. I went to buy a handbag and a wallet, and i noticed that the wallet that the salesperson had given me had multiple marks on it. so she goes and tries to get the marks off and tells me its all off...i looked at it and i can clearly see that it still had a few marks. she tells me that was the last one they had and that she is able to get the same wallet somewhere else but it would have to be shipped to me...so i waited two weeks for it to come. I open my box and see that they had shipped me the same defected wallet!!!! how unprofessional and shady???!!! i would of expected better service than this since its Gucci!! so i went back and told the lady what had happened...and she showed me the same wallet but a display one!! Avoid the store if possible. I understand sometimes you want to check out what's new at Gucci. My experience has been that although the merchandise is nice, customer service is non-existent. Recently I was in to do some holiday shopping and the bag I wanted was out of stock and had to be ordered. They said it would take a few days and that they would let me know once it's shipped to the store. About a week passed so I decided to call the store. No one answered the phone. The recorded message said the sales people are busy. I tried for about 2 hours. Finally, I decided to go into the store. As I entered I asked a salesperson if there was something wrong with the phone system? She said when they are busy they don't answer. I was wary of shopping that this location due to the negative reviews about service at this store, but upon entering I was greeted and helped out. Not as much of a luxury experience as stores such as Céline or Louis Vuitton where they offer champagne, etc. but I knew what I needed and was just looking to get in and out. The sales people were friendly but not overbearing. My experience was quick and easy, however they did forget to take the security sensor out of my bag... I left the store without the alarms going off, and was at work the next day when I discovered the tag still attached. I brought the bag back in and they took it off, no problem. I actually appreciate this store because they let you roam around and look at purses without being followed and watched. They also are really helpful when looking at purses. On the few occasions I went in the ladies actually listened to my opinions and gladly showed me each bag that I wanted. When my boyfriend and I went in to get me my Christmas present the lady actually helped me pick one out accomodating my needs and my worries of it tearing or getting damaged. i LOVE my gucci purse and I think this is one of the better stores. read more

I even dated a sales associate for a bit... Typical of most high end stores, it is huge with minimalist decor and shelves that look half empty. The sales people are stoic, robotic, void of any personality, but when you are purchasing a $300 credit card wallet, or a $3,000 purse, you don't care about price, or "warm fuzzy" salespeople. First off let me start of by saying I've never really had any issues with this location. Every time I've gone it they have enough stock of things and people have treated me okay. Nothing special but okay. I've purchased a lot of Gucci items in the last few years for myself and others. But yesterday I was a little shocked at how my experience went. I had originally bought a backpack in Las Vegas but decided it wasn't my style so I decided to exchange it for another backpack at this location. Mind you it was a lot more expensive. Steve was my rep and he was amazing. Very good sales guy. My issue wasn't with him but with the brand. I own a business and for us the final product it very important. When people pay what they pay they expect a certain quality and status. Well long story short I bought the new backpack and some mules. Got home and noticed my backpack had three very giant and noticeable scratches on the leather flap. Then I checked my mules and realized they had been already worn! The bottom of the shoes were scraped all over and dented and the leather was bent. So these mules were for sure a return. Overall I was shocked that Gucci would think it's okay to charge people full price and hand out return items! Steve was very apologetic when I returned the items but I also drove all day to and from in the same day to return them. The backpack was defective. I changed that one on the spot but the mules are getting delivered to my home. I get it that they want to make their money they are a brand but save yourself the reputation and just send return items to your outlet stores at that point people know why they get discounts because items are defective or worn etc. but at a flagship store you just expect the quality to be there in it's entirety. Like I mentioned Steve was amazing! However the defective backpack and worn mules and me driving twice in the same day to exchange these items wasnt my greatest experience oh and the phone lines are not great here I called a handful of times to get contacted with my rep because I never got his card and I left voicemails and never got any call backs etc read more

I LOVE this location. The employees are extremely kind, funny, and helpful. Also, the showroom is incredibly beautiful (even compared to most Gucci locations). Every time I've been here, I have been treated with the utmost respect and have been ensured the best possible service. I once came here and purchased a particular belt, but about a week later had major buyer's remorse because I wanted something a little more extravagant (hey if you pay for it, you might as well flaunt it!). My salesperson was great at showing me options that would be better suited to my tastes and I walked out satisfied with an item that I definitely loved with no regrets. They are also great at taking multiple Visa gift cards. I came in with a stack of them and they were pretty patient and totally nice about it, and didn't make me feel bad at all.
