The color on the leather was patchy, with uneven tones and visible blemishes. What used to be smooth, soft leather now feels rough and sandy, almost like it was stripped instead of restored. It also looks like no waterproofing or protective finish was applied. I don't doubt that they do excellent work on shoes and smaller leather items, but based on my experience, I wouldn't trust them again with a high-end handbag. For the price and the promise, this was a huge disappointment.

My experience with a suitcase, however, is what prompted me to write this review. The suitcase was a birthday gift from my wife several years ago, so it, too, has sentimental value to me. When I brought it in for a handle repair, Culver Shoe Repair was completely upfront: this particular type of work isn't done in-house, but is sent to a third party. The repair was completed within the promised timeframe, but unfortunately, the handle broke again only a few days after I picked up the suitcase. Things happen. Repairs fail. What matters to me is what happens next. I contacted Culver Shoe Repair and asked how we should proceed. There was no argument, no attempt to shift responsibility to the outside repair service, and no runaround. I was immediately offered a repair at no charge, along with an apology. No further questions asked. I picked up the suitcase today, and everything appears to be exactly as it should be. That, to me, is excellent customer service. It is easy for a business to look good when everything goes according to plan. You learn much more about a business when something doesn't--and Culver Shoe Repair handled this exactly the way I would hope a reputable business would. For shoe repair, I wouldn't even consider going elsewhere. And after this experience, I also feel confident using them for any of the other services they offer. I also had a leather belt that needed to be shortened. The way it was designed it wasn't a simple punch a new hole and shorten it, it needed to be taken apart and shortened and replaced with new rivets. Again they ordered rivets to match the belt and it turned out better than when I had brought it. If you need to get any leather item repaired I would definitely take it here. They also sell some great leather goods that they make....worth checking them out. Oh and they have been here for 30 years if that tells you anything.

My recent visit to the Gucci store at South Coast Plaza left me feeling deeply disappointed. Last week, my wife and I both purchased shoes from the store, only to discover the next day that both pairs were right-sided. I returned to the store to resolve this issue, where I explained the situation to a sales agent. Unfortunately, the store did not have the correct shoes in stock, so the agent kindly offered to order another pair for me. I appreciated her assistance, and she gave me two options for receiving the replacement shoes: they could be shipped to my home or to the store for pick-up. Given that picking them up in-store was more convenient for me, I chose that option, and the sales agent issued me a receipt. A day later, we received an email notification that the shoes were ready for pick-up. I visited the store to collect the shoes, but when I arrived, a sales agent at the entrance informed me that I couldn't pick them up because they were purchased under my wife's account. I showed her the email receipt, which my wife had forwarded, but the sales agent still needed her manager's input. The manager, in a rather unaccommodating tone, informed me that it was against their policy to release the shoes to me. Frustrated, I inquired if I could cancel the entire transaction, to which she responded with a dismissive "sure, no worries." The tone and attitude of the store's leadership left much to be desired. It seemed as though they took their customers for granted, assuming that they had enough business to disregard any individual concerns. As long-time customers of Gucci and other luxury brands, my wife and I choose to invest in luxury products primarily because of the exceptional service that should come with them. If we were not concerned about the quality of service, we would simply order online. In summary, my experience at the Gucci store was a significant letdown, leaving me with a sense of undervaluation and disappointment. The post-purchase customer service was far from enjoyable. Gucci should remember that its success ultimately hinges on customer satisfaction, and my recent visit did not align with that core principle in any way. read more

This place should be closed down for reasons of bad customer service. I just recently purchased a belt a few months ago went back two days ago and purchased another belt only to get home a noticed they gave me a shorter belt than I requested. I went back today to exchange the belt they made a mistake on and received the poorest customer care I ever seen. They manager was very rude and unprofessional. I waited for nearly forty five minutes and still didnt not receive my correct belt. I was told to come back tomorrow and speak to another person. They claimed the didnt have the color in stock so I asked them to order me one and the manager told me to take me belt back home and wait until they order another one and they would call me to come in and then bring the belt back. I have never heard of a store telling their valuable customer to take the product back and when we get one we will call you. I have spent nearly $7,000 within the past 6 months at this location, this kind of treatment must stop immediately. I will take my business elsewhere and tell all my friends to do the same. Its loyal valuable spending customers like us that keeps the doors open at Gucci! We deserve and demand better treatment if we're going to continue to patronize Gucci stores. I am requesting Gucci to reach out to me ASAP! In regards to this matter or otherwise lose a loyal customer. read more

Usually, I go into Gucci stores and the salespeople are polite and greet me. However, when I walked into the Gucci store at South Coast Plaza on a quiet weekday afternoon, I definitely didn't have a welcoming feeling. One lady said hello but barely smiled and didn't bother to ask me if I was looking for anything in particular. I guess I wouldn't have minded so much if I was just looking but that day I actually was looking to buy a wallet for a friend and needed assistance. I made my way over to the wallet display case and didn't see exactly what I was looking for. Finally someone came over and I asked them. She just said no, they didn't have it and didn't suggest anything else, didn't offer to check another store for me...just a flat out no. I was actually open to other options but didn't want to deal with the Gucci sales lady any longer so l left the store and made my way over to Prada where the salesman was very helpful and took out a bunch of different wallets for me to look at. I saw something nice that I liked and purchased it. What a difference in attitudes....what a shame to lose a sale. I was generous with the 3 stars because I figure maybe it was that time of the month for her or maybe she was just having a bad day and I'm sure not all the sales people in that store are the same way. read more

Their service SUCK!!! I saw this GUCCI bag called SUKEY MEDIUM GUCCISSIMA LEATHER TOTE online and I really liked it! So I went to the GUCCI store in South Coast Plaza and after waiting patiently for 20 minutes for someone to help me, I finally asked one of the salesperson for help. Bought the purse and headed out of the store! When I got home I realized the one that I saw on the website was a Brown leather with a black fabric inside, but the one that I've got, the fabric was a light beige color which I didn't like, Because I knew it would get soiled after using it couple of times so I decided to return it. The next day I went back and explained why I'm returning it back! First she challenged me that these purses never came with the black fabric and started searching for it on her tablet. Luckily it was there and I showed it to her and then suddenly she got annoyed and said, "there's no way we could get that! "After she did the return I nicely thanked her but she completely ignored me and walked to another room!!!!!!!! You would think since it's a high-end store you would get a high-end customer service, even though I was returning the purse!! You would get ignored and insulted whether you want to purchase something or returning an item. read more

I love everything in this store. I buy a lot of Gucci, and every time I come here I am always greeted with a smile and there is always someone available to help me. I came in recently for some velvet fur loafers and I was in and out in no time, and very satisfied again with my experiance. The boots are also more versatile in situations than my other favorite wardrobe piece, my Veronica Beard scuba blazer. I'm definitely not a handbag gal and a lot of my clothes are boutique pieces I find in thrift stores but I can fall in love with the right shoe. For a few years now I have been trying to get the "perfect" Chelsea boot that I can wear in more formal settings. My "casual/workhorse" utility boot I already have in the form of a Doc Martens 1460 in a softer leather for easier break-in. I love the idea of the boot but finding the perfect boot didn't happen until I went shopping at South Coast Plaza. My sister got her boot from another store but I heard one of the employees of that store say that this sold the classier/less "edgy" version of the boot. If anything I was just merely curious when I stepped in the store just because there is no BV location in SD; this is the closest location to me. When Isaac approached us I was just merely curious to try on the boot. What resulted is the closest thing I had to a Cinderella moment and I got it on the spot. A lot of my most beloved clothing and accessories have been from impulse buys but in my defense I had been thinking about the concept for a while. The boot is quite comfy. There was no real break-in period for me but I also don't wear these boots when I anticipate 8+ hours on my feet. The boot itself is big - toebox is wide so I actually got a half-size down (comparison: I get size 9.5-10 on most other shoes). The boot is solid black and all shoes handmade in Italy with the best craftsmanship. Each boot has its own individual sleeve for storage but in this particular instance I also store the shoes in its own original box. They are irreplaceable to me, and I was incredibly upset thinking they might be gone for good. Catherine treated the situation with real care and urgency. After I spoke with her, she reviewed the video footage right away. She found me on the footage, confirmed the time I was in the store, and saw the key detail that solved everything: I had walked out of Nordstrom with the sunglasses on my head. Because Catherine caught that detail, I realized the glasses were not lost at Nordstrom and had to be at my next stop. I called Free People Movement in Marina del Rey, and they had them. I got them back. Catherine's professionalism, patience, and attention to detail made all the difference. She didn't dismiss the situation. She helped me figure out what actually happened, and because of her, I was reunited with something that meant a great deal to me. I have been a Nordstrom customer for many years, and people like Catherine are exactly why Nordstrom has always stood out to me. Please make sure she and her managers know how grateful I am. She was extraordinary.

For bored husbands like me they're quick to provide chilled water and usually have cookies. Smart to keep us distracted while wife shops. I bought my wife some Apple Watch accessories for this Christmas which they wrapped beautifully for me. Men, they have fantastic high quality Made in USA mens belts. They're tucked away in the back corner. I've been wearing their belts for 20 years and they're excellent. Besides sells you can bring all your Brighton products for cleaning and repair. After the warranty period it's not too pricey and they'll get it looking good as new.

I stumbled upon this place while getting tickets at the regal theater…read more I always forget that there's a nice Big Edwards theater located in the corner pocket of this center, and decided to stop by DSW They're having a Bogo 50% off, which I didn't want two pair of shoes. I only wanted one. Got this pair for $80 but with the Bogo had it for $60 each The customer service was excellent. They were very helpful and wanted to always ask that my needs for being met. They arrived a few days later, from DSW Return Center. The shoes were dirty at the bottom and looked like the have been worn and returned. Perhaps, they just came from the Return Center? Called DSW to notify them. Was told to drop those two pairs at the nearest store and they ordered (supposedly two fresh pairs) from the warehouse. Well, few days later, the replacement shoes came. Exactly the same as last two. They came from the Return Center again, and looked as they've been worn and returned. Took them to this DSW CM location to return. Got excellent service by Rene. Like the associates at the other store location, he agreed that the shoes appeared to have been worn. Rene was very pleasant and courteous. Indeed, DSW always has great customer service. The warehouse, however, needs to be more careful and pay attention to what they send customers. Can't send customers used/worn shoes! Not good. And DSW should not put the returned shoes back in stock and mix them in with new shoes to ship to customers. In-store Customer service: 6/5 Shipping/warehouse: 1/5.
