First we waited an hour to get seated when we were told the wait time was we 30mins, but understandable it's busy. But as soon as we sat down the service was ridiculously slow, I understand some restaurants are busy but we waited 15mins for our soft drinks then 30 mins for 3lbs of crawfish. At this point I still haven't received my chicken sandwich once I got it, it was all wrong. Once the waiter finally came over and I told her, she took the plate to the kitchen and brought back my sandwich with the same problem all they did was add lettuce.. when I told her not only when I ordered no mayo but again when I saw it was incorrect. She took it back again, then brought it back again and stated the cook said they couldn't get all the mayo off the sandwich if that was fine. I don't understand this service and I wouldn't come back here. Meanwhile throughout this whole time we had ordered a kids meal of popcorn chicken and still never received it. PSA. we eat here often but tonight was awful. crawfish cold. asked to have hot ones and all they did was dump them back in the boil. so now they're not seasoned and they're mushy and gross. Manager comes to the table - no we did not ask to speak with him at all- the server did. He has a horrible attitude and never once apologized for the crap we were served instead he came to argue that the crawfish were not reheated and we were given fresh ones...BS. I know a lot of ppl rave about this place- as do I usually . When they're good they are amazing as they were last night. today it was inconsistent and horrible. And Al is rude and should not be in the service industry with the attitude he displayed tonight. read more

My meal from Guidry's was a cold, salty, disappointing end to a rainy, socially distant birthday. Ordered a Guidry's Special on Saturday, April 18th and it was a terrible experience. We chose Guidry's because it was my birthday and despite the quarantine, I wanted to make the most out of the evening and try something different. We called around 6 pm to order. We were told that there would be a 2 hour wait, and that we'd receive a text when the food was ready. 8 pm came and went. While my mom called to check on the status of our order, the wait staff was confused that we had not been called to pick up our food. I then received another call moments later that our food was ready. Eleven minutes later after our drive to the restaurant, the Guidry's Special that we received was ice cold. It clearly had been ready long before we arrived, and much longer before we had called to check on the status of the order. This was upsetting enough, but to add further insult, the shrimp and crawfish were overcooked, and the main flavor of the boil was salt. Needless to say I wouldn't order from here again. read more

I'm so torn -- the food is DELICIOUS but that wait is atrocious. ** I'd be more forgiving about the long wait because the owners clearly care and are trying to mitigate it but 2 issues: 1. There's a sign that says you can check in on their wait list with Yelp ahead of time -- but you can't. We've tried! :( It says "no wait", no list, and then when you arrive, 2 hours. Checked again. Still Yelp says no wait. Please update that or remove the sign! 2. When we got on the list in person, we even gave a phone number. They crossed us off without calling our name. I'd checked about 70 minutes into our wait, they said "You're two tables away." Then never called (we were waiting right there and checking our phone). Crossed us off. We waited another 30 minutes unnecessarily. It's frustrating for sure. Please run that list better. ** Okay. Whew. THE FOOD. Crawfish is sweet and delicious. Great quality. Excellent fresh oyster poboys. The pickles and tomatoes in it make a great combo of fried oyster goodness plus fresh veggies so you don't feel carbed up. But the real hidden gem?? DESSERT! It's not on the menu. You have to ask. But hot damn, there's this butter pudding that was scarfed so quickly, you'd think we hadn't ordered it. I really continue to give this place a chance only because it's local but really the service and food has not been good. The portions continue to reduce while the price is high for what they are serving . When they are not forgetting an item that we ordered the food has been cold or just not getting quality checked. Every time I am there I have to request pretty normal things like silverware or plates for an appetizer. Either way I continue to give this place the benefit of the doubt of being "busy" or "due to Covid" but I don't believe this place is anywhere near a 4 star list here. read more

Went last night to get my crawfish fix. Ordered five pounds of bugs. Out of the five pounds, literally two thirds were bad. The meat was black or mushy. Was so excited to find out that they had reopened! The remodel looks awesome. As always the staff was attentive and helpful, and of course the food is outstanding! Idc how long the line is I will wait to eat there! The cool thing is you can put your name before you get there or a waiting list so that helps but let me tell you! I've been to a lot of crawfish places and so far nothing beats Guidry's! I can actually say the size of them are great not small at all since some places give you baby looking ones! I love the spicy ness and I always get hot. The boudin balls were so delicious as well it was my first time getting them! To make it even sweeter I believe it was either the manager or owner while we waited he made sure to let guest know sorry for the wait but if we needed anything he was there and he was pretty funny! Just stumbled on this spot with a buddy after golfing at battlegrounds golf course and it was amazing. Boudin: great! Buffalo shrimp: perfect! Fried shrimp basket was as good as you'll find anywhere. I got the stuffed catfish with rice and veggies and it was flavorful and cooked perfectly and the sauce mixed with the rice and I was in Cajun heaven. If I'm ever near deer park again, this is the only place you'll find me eating. read more

Overall this is a no frills food Cajun place to eat. Expect large portions and fried Cajun food that's made to order. We starred with the stuffed jalapeños and they were a great start for 2 people. It's boudin on the inside and jalapeño out. It could use some more spices but the texture was great -- firmish jalapeño skin and nice warm soft boudin on the inside. Then we had the crawfish po bo. The hushpuppies were great but they were fried. Good but definitely not healthy at all. The fried crawfish was also good. The grilled chicken dinner was just ok. Nothing special about it but I don't think it's their specialty. I would like to see more healthy choices that are good tasting here but I understand it's not their specialty. The communication as beyond poor. My family and I waited for 2 hours only for them to seat us outside with one heater in place for all 4 tables... mind you I have small children. After speaking to a manager after two hours, I was informed that there were no tables inside fit for a party of 9. I was NEVER given this information. OMG ! I just had the crawfish here and they were VERY good ! I'm not sure if it's most of the crawfish restaurants in Houston or not but this one doesn't put the seasoning on top of the crawdads when it comes out the water, it's soaked into it and man are they some good ! I had the mild kind an they had just the right amount of seasoning soaked into the crawfish and when you bite the heads of an get the juices out of them mmmhmmm they are delicious. The staff was great in greeting me when I ordered over the phone and even walking in, they showed they knew their roles and what was on the menu cause I asked a lot of questions lol. Changing my review to 4 stars because this place has improved and improved dramatically! Gone are the rude waitresses you can't rely on and the horrible service with lackluster food. We've come in three times since the reopening and every single time - we've been impressed. Our waiter, Xavier, was so friendly and on point with service! Our crawfish were humungous and spicy and our shrimp were perfectly cooked. They made for a perfect appetizer. My 1 year old also loved the grilled cheese with French fries. Beers were cold and there are plenty of options for everyone - even if you don't like crawfish. read more

Came twice, 6 months after quarantine they made new renovations to the restaurant which is nice. The food is always good, mostly everything on the menu is good but kinda wish the fries had more seasoning. The service is always a hit or miss. The two times we've recently been I've noticed there will be people who get up with no masks on and are not told anything. I've totally gotten up and for a second forgotten to wear a mask but when there are multiple customers who constantly do it, that's really unacceptable especially when staff says nothing. read more

Cajun restaurants are defined by a number of different dishes but a good barometer is always Boudin (if they don't have the item on their menu then you're not in a Cajun restaurant) and of course Gumbo both of which I promptly ordered here. The boudin was superb, cooked perfectly, well seasoned with plenty of meat. I asked the waitress if they made their own she said no however wherever they acquired from, whatever gas station around Opelousas ,Louisiana that they buy it from it is some of the best Boudin I have ever had. It is well worth the trip to this restaurant just for that alone. Now onto the gumbo. The roux of the gumbo was quite dark and very well done. It was spicy yet not overpowering. However, the reason I have given the restaurant for rather than five stars is that there was a paucity of seafood in the seafood gumbo. I must however say that the restaurant was well attended by Cajuns, which is always a great sign and the fried food which was being served all around me look absolutely wonderful. So I will be returning to judge for myself whether there is more to this restaurant that I have experience so far. I look forward to returning. read more

Tried Guidry's Cajun Kitchen back in March and the crawfish came out room temperature twice. We brought it back and the cook came out with an attitude asking what was wrong with the crawfish, we explained, he didn't accept our explanation and he walked away. So we asked for the manager, we saw the manager come out and look at our table then decided to walk around the restaurant to other tables before coming to attend to us. When he FINALLY got to us he approached with a NASTY, STANK FACE attitude. We explained the same thing to the manager and he told us well, if you don't like it you can go eat crawfish elsewhere. I think that's the poorest form of hospitality. We were literally showing this guy how at some of the other tables the crawfish was steaming however, he didn't care to hear our explanation. My friends & I were appalled at how nasty this manager or head guy was and how he was literally going back and forth with us. I feel sorry for any of his direct reports. This is not a good place. This establishment will never get my money. If I could rate below one star I definitely would. read more

I've lived in the area long enough to know Guidry's gets pretty busy at times and during crawfish season, forget about it. Call me snob because I feel this place is in desperate need of some remodeling. Their food is just okay and inconsistent. The boudin balls are great. When fresh, and I stress this point, their crawfish is good and pleasantly spicy. I went two weeks ago on Mother's Day and their crawfish was noticeably frozen and gross. I ordered their stuffed tilapia and was happy with the fish but the rice that it was served on was just a big pile of over cooked mush. My daughter had an overly crispy fish basket from which we were able to salvage only some of. I'm a big supporter of local businesses but Guidry's has enough business coming in to step up their game before people stop going. read more

First time I got crawfish here, I wasn't impressed, I don't know if it was the time of day or the spicy level I ordered (1x) but the flavor was just sub par. So I got some from crabby crawfish and they were awful! Mushy and not hot at all even though I ordered hot, very disappointing. When the craving hit again I decided to give Guidry's another try, ordered the 2x this time and was very impressed! Something was different! The flavor was amazing the crawfish were huge, so so good I have since ordered crawfish here many times usually they are very good, every once in a while I get a batch I'm not to happy with the flavor.
