Really. Really. Really. Good. Brisket was moist and super flavorful, I got the loaded potato it was bomb. Ordered spicy boudin and baked beans on the side, food was more than worth the price, prices not bad at all. $5.00 for a big link of spicy delicious boudin. My husband got a dinner plate with brisket, came with two sides, beans and potato salad, perfectly portioned, priced reasonably. We will most def be back, think we found our BBQ spot. Staff was super nice, made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us frequently to make sure everything was all good. My husband brought us here for lunch during the week. It's located in SWAT inside a small strip center next to a barbershop. The restaurant inside and out was clean, with plenty of seating for dining. There was zydeco music playing which gave a lively atmosphere. We ordered the daily special which included 2 pork ribs, quarter chicken, quarter sliced sausage link, 2 slices of buttered Texas toast and 2 sides. We sat down to eat, the food came out right away. The bbq had a delicious hickory flavor, and toasted with buttered versus plain out the bag was a nice touch! Customer service was excellent. They explained the menu, had patience, asked us how the food was and spoke to us for a bit. The food is definitely your backyard kinda barbecue. Everything was juicy, tender, flavorful and fresh. It's a small family business of a father, son and uncle. They've been in that location for a few years prior to having a food truck. Amazing Place!! Definitely worth a visit if you are in Houston! Great food! We had ribs, chicken and sausage all three were out of this world. The Side were baked beans that I wanted more of and "grandma" made potato salad. Also had the spicy Boudin which you can't pass up. Don't forget to ask for dessert the homemade banana pudding rocks! The prices were totally reasonable in this day and age of inflation. As if all that wasn't enough the staff were courteous and attentive asking making sure our large group was well taken care of. Sausage is just delicious and one of the best ever I've had along with the ribs. Just order the 3 meat plate and share if you dare. Loaded brisket baked potato is my favorite meat and potatoes add bbq sauce. Service is above and beyond and just friendly and on point. Your order is brought out and are checked on periodically making sure all's well. Dining in is in adjoining space with plenty of tables and napkins and 2 HDTVs. This was my first time eating here. I was looking for a new BBQ place that I had't tried before and this one seemed worth a try. It is not one of the more famous places in Houston but not everyone can be. It was located in a strip mall that has seen its better days. I went for lunch and there weren't too many people there. You order at the counter and the the person taking the order was very helpful. I tried the brisket and the ribs. The brisket was very good and really enjoyed it. The ribs had a great flavor but I think they weren't quite done. The beans and potato salad were fine but nothing special. overall it was good and am sure they get a lot of local traffic. Once you try the food you will be certain that Guillory's will one day gain the stardom to dismiss that judgement from its patrons. Delicious food and great service. A true testament to the mom and pop bbq shops. The owner is kind and generous in both manner and food portion. I tried the daily 3 meat special with brisket added and it was all great ? I prefer brisket and this was almost melt in your mouth good. No need for a knife, cut this with a spoon. Moist, tender and very tasty. No jalapeno sausage, but this was almost like boudain. Also very tasty. I like my ribs fall off the bone, but these ribs took a little coaxing. No problem, they were also tender and very tasty. I'm not into bbq chicken mainly because I can't fit it in after eating all the meat, but this came with the daily special and was also very good. I got the beans and potato salad as side that they were also good. I come from Austin where we have dozens of excellent BBQ places and this little shop (open for 35 years in the same area) can run with any of them. It was too much mayo and sweet relish. Just not good. I would suspect they buy this product. The highlight of the sides is the dirty rice. It seems as though it's boudin. Nice touch. The brisket baked potato comes with the brisket pre-sauced. I did not enjoy it. I like to taste the smoke flavor and I like to see the quality of the meat. I thought it was mid in flavor. The presentation was nice. The three meat plate comes with ribs, chicken, and sausage. The chicken did have smoke flavor but I did not think it was seasoned enough. The sausage wasn't great either. Definitely a cheaper tasting sausage. I would say this place is a pass for me. It is cheaper than Pappas. I assume this is why the reviews are five stars. I personally think Pappas taste better.
