Great time last night. We walked in straight from the airport and enjoyed a wonderful happy hour at Gulliver's. There were so many good options to choose from on the bar menu plus well discounted happy hour items. They even had complimentary finger food for the patron to enjoy. After posting this review I received a message from the Manager of the restaurant and he was a great person to talk with and very compassionate on the experience that my friends and I had here. very apologetic and definitely didn't want things to be left on a bad note. I am willing to give this place another shot in the future, not sure when but with the gestures of having a manager reach out to apologize and want to know what all happen to help improve the experiences for everyone does go pretty far and shows that they do care about the customer experiences at their restaurant. read more

Ok this place has been around for 50+ years. This is a cool place once you are inside. Drinks are good food not so much. Twice baked potatoes is hard and crispy. The prime rib was tough and not really good. The cream corn was ok but not like the summit house. The horseradish was not good basically tasted less. My wife and me dined at Gulliver's Friday night 2/13/26. Our reservation was 6:45pm. We were seated just before 7pm. Service was very slow. I waited over 20 minutes for the soup I ordered to arrive. The prime rib dinners we ordered did not arrive until well past 8pm. Three 8oz Long Island Iced Teas cost $25.00 each, a $75.00 charge which to say the least was a blatant rip off. Food was excellent, ambiance very good, but slow service and a bar bill gouging put a real damper on our evening. read more

Made a reservation for a saturday night, for the bar area. Was seated in the small room where the fireplace is. Sat in a nice table/half booth in the corner of the room. Location is stuck in time and that's what makes it cool. We ordered crab cakes and spinach artichoke dip to start. Of course you also get sourdough bread and focaccia. Main dish was the prime rib, which comes with creamed corn, cream spinach and bread pudding. Washed it down with a few gin and tonics. It was all good. Service was good. I I also think you get your adult bevs sitting closer to the bar. Plenty of parking, but recommend you get a reservation (open table or via their website) cuz it seems like the place gets crowded real fast like. read more

Our go-to restaurant for anniversaries and seasonal holidays. As always, made a reservation on-line. The evening's ambiance commenced upon entering the front door. We were warmly greeted by the old guard Host. Being ahead of schedule we meandered into Lemuel's Pub for a toddy... or two. It was nice to visit with the bartender and his garçon. Both staff are always warm, courteous, and professional. We suddenly recalled why we came. We were escorted to our table by the Garçon and Host (carrying our drinks). We were fortunate to again have waiter Tony. Our meals were scrumptious: Filet Mignon, Rack of Lamb, Prime Rib. And our feast was topped off by an English Trifle (with 4 forks!). Came here on a Wednesday night and it was PACKED! Luckily we made reservations online through Open Table and that was the way to go. This place is definitely quite an experience, which is good and bad. The good: staff was wonderful, attentive, and friendly. The food was pretty good and definitely was filling. There was a large variety of things on the menu which provides for everyone to get their needs met. The house wine that was recommended with the prime rib was a great recommendation. The not-so-good: The seating was awkward and there was not much space to be in. The restaurant was very loud and it was hard to really have a conversation but luckily we were in a booth that protected us some. The cost for the quality of the food was not what I would have expected but I also am keeping in mind that this is an older establishment. The restroom was very cramped, which makes it hard as well for others. read more

We had various appetizers and enjoyed them all. Our party of 12 ordered both steak and salmon entrees. I personally loved the salmon. Many enjoyed their cuts of meat. Not really being a carnivore, I honestly couldn't tell you what the cuts were but they all enjoyed them. The service was fantastic. Our servers were attentive and went above and beyond to meet our needs. The actual structure and decor is very dated...very dated. The bathrooms need serious renovations. The paper towel dispenser wouldn't stay closed. The wallpaper is from the 80's?? The Christmas decor was festive and enjoyable and old. All in all, a great experience. We had dinner reservations for NYE. They were running a little behind so we had drinks at the bar. Ordered pinot original and mellow, both were fairly priced. For dinner in the main room, we sat in a booth. Ordered the house prime rib with creamed corn, creamed spinach and I forgot the name of the last side. My mom who is a prime rib snob used horseradish and the sauce and loved the prime rib. I also liked it as well, but I was unable to finish it (probably bc I stuffed some of the bread in my belly). I was excited to try this place because I had heard good things. I was not impressed. My mother ordered a steak and turned it back because it was so thin and looked inedible. She kindly asked for the prime rib instead, seeing as that was their specialty. The waitress made it apparent she was not happy with the request, although I appreciated that she tried to hide it with kindness for the remainder of our meal. The chairs were a bit uncomfortable and the interior looks like it could use some remodeling. The entry to the restaurant looks very cute with a fireplace and chairs to enjoy a cocktail, but otherwise, I would spend the money (which was expensive, even for lunch) at one of the other restaurants nearby. I gave this review a 3 stars because I appreciated the style that the restaurant was going for and how most of the staff was polite. It seems like this is a place that has frequent diners, so there is a charm that they appreciate. It was just not my cup of tea. read more

The service was on point from the hostess and the waiter Shane was awesome. The food was phenomenal and do delicious. We were all happily full. My sisters and I had a wonderful time tonight at Gulliver's Restaurant. From the amazing service with our waiter Shane, to the fun picture taking hostess at the front desk who took our picture at our table, to the delicious food that was brought to the table!! We ordered tasty salmon, juicy prime beef bones, roasted duck, and the best plate being the surf and turf!!! Even the creamed corn was like none we've ever had. Thank you Shane for creating a fun and relaxing environment for us as we ate, laughed, and took pictures in this unique looking 1800's English setting. Recommendation: get the mushroom soup! You have to REALLY like mushrooms! Had dinner on Thanksgiving, which I enjoyed, but my spouse did not. Went again the week before Christmas and they had their full menu. We ordered the steak (we always get the prime rib) and it was fatty and difficult to cut. Any restaurant can't have an off night, but, unfortunately, I ended up with food poisoning. 2 stars off for that. Staff is always very nice and waitress Debra was wonderful. She even knew the correct pronunciation of "Blefuscudians." The friends we were with enjoyed the food and, of course, we enjoyed the atmosphere. I always enjoy the triffle, because this fat kid loves cake! Will be back again next holiday season should I live that long. read more

Gulliver's has been a favorite since the 1970s when my father would bring us to enjoy the prime rib all the way from the valley. I happen to be in Orange County and decided to take my son for lunch. We ordered the dinner prime rib because I wanted the sides that come with the dinner instead of the sides that come with lunch. I am a big prime rib lover and I just have to say I will never be back to Gulliver's again. With both of our prime rib steaks you could tell the meat was going to be crappy either it needed to be cooked longer or the whole fillet that it was cut from was just crap. It was very hard to the touch and there was no outer rim of the juicy prime rib, and that's my favorite. My son ate more than half of his but said it was the worst he's ever had and I only had a couple bites. The waiter noticed and asked me and I told him it was bad not a good piece of meat at all. I didn't ask but they kindly took one of the dinners off my bill. I still paid $85 for lunch. I'm just going to say the server was excellent the decor was very holiday spirited and I loved it. But if the kitchen serves subpar food it's going to ruin your business. And what we were served wasn't even as good as what I could get at sizzlers, and it was $40 more. It's a big shame when the kitchen doesn't care about the quality that they present. read more

Had family dinner to celebrate mom's 69th birthday. Service was excellent and food quality amazing. Ambience wasn't what's expected from usual prime rib/steakhouse but offered a warm English pub sense of atmosphere that was welcoming for a family dining experience. Back to food, prime rib portion sizes were huge! I had a rib eye steak grilled to perfection and every bite was truly enjoyable. Early servings of warm break baskets and escargot appetizers were perfect amuse bouche to warm the taste palette. Definitely would need to go back for more! read more

Had a great experience here in late November with all the Christmas lights and companion items out in a festive display around the restaurant. In Denmark they call this "hygge" and a "hyggligt" place (cozy place). The overall sound volume inside is low, so you can actually have a good dinner conversation! I had the aged ribeye with bone. Such a beautifully decorated restaurant for Christmas. Christmas music, Christmas movies playing in the bar, tons of gorgeous decorations. Everyone goes here for the traditional prime rib, and it doesn't disappoint. Great service, great food....great place to get you in the holiday spirit. The bar is also very cozy and decorative for Christmas. My only suggestion would be to offer some Christmas cocktails and maybe a special holiday dessert. I think they would do really well. The bar is prettier than any Christmas themed pop up bar I've been to, it is really done up beautifully. Bartender was really sweet and we talked to other nice couples grabbing a drink and/or having an informal dinner at the bar. read more

Fantastic Birthday Dinner! This is THE place for prime rib in the OC! We had an incredible birthday dinner at Gulliver's! The service was top-notch, and the July 4th decorations added a festive touch. We started with the filet mignon bruschetta--a unique and savory treat. The clam chowder and Caesar salad were both delicious. The prime rib stole the show--perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. We loved the twice-baked potatoes and all-you-can-eat cream corn. The salmon was also excellent. Too full for dessert this time, but their crème brûlée with raspberries is always a favorite. Can't wait to return! read more

I was in town for the weekend and had an amazing dinner experience with my brothers at Gulliver's... The ambiance has this old school steakhouse vibe, complete with dark wooden, floors, tables, brick fireplace, that makes you feel like you're in a massive ski resort lodge. BUT some of the decor is inspired by Gulliver's Travels, unique indeed. There's a John Wayne table where the Duke himself used to dine, very cool. The service was outstanding and we had a main server backed up by some amazing staff. The kitchen had our appetizers to the table quickly which we appreciated. Escargot - absolutely delish and gets the dinner started well. Spinach Dip - served in a bread bowl was yum, creamy and I'd order again. Prime Rib - Medium Rare, hearty sized and prepped to perfection. The chefs really do have their craft down here for the prime rib. I'm digging this restaurant and will definitely visit again when I'm in the area and I'm fiending for a delicious Prime Rib evening. Cheers! read more

We recently enjoyed a company event at this wonderful and charming venue. They claim prime rib as their specialty and let me tell you, they weren't lying! We had the prime rib, and it was just outstanding, served with all the traditional sides such as creamed corn, Yorkshire pudding, and creamed spinach. I read several reviews before I decided to patronage this establishment, so that I would enter into the experience with an open mind. I was made to feel very welcome upon entry. The manager was friendly and engaging. I had read about the Pub, so I went in to see it while I waited for my table. The bartender was so friendly that I almost decided to take my meal right there. After being seated, the server treated me like a regular. I explained that I had studied the history and menus of the restaurant and we struck up an interesting exchange. I ordered my entire meal from memory. I was exceptionally impressed with how she timed the service of each course. The mushroom soup was hot and perfectly seasoned. I had the Gulliver prime rib dinner. I honestly cannot say it's the best that I ever had, but mine certainly was not as bad as some reviews. The sides are not bad at all. I plan to try the duck, lobster and other entrees on my next visits. After the server boxed my food to go (which was a lot, because of the generous portions) I stopped by the Pub to hang out a bit. It reminded me of Cheers. It's somewhat famous because, John Wayne had a booth in there. Everyone was interacting like family and acted like I was part of the regular gang. All and all it was a great night. The food is good, but I recommend Gulliver's for the total Old English experience and customer service next to none. read more
