    Chicken Kebab Plate

Gyro master is a great new place along Green Lake offering a slightly different spin on the local gyro offerings. They specialize in chicken kebab and chicken shawarma (actually made on a rotating spit unlike many other places) plus the usual gyro slices. They do not have beef shawarma or kebab; instead they have a whole section of the menu dedicated to burgers! It's a smart approach--especially near Green Lake--to serve something for a variety of tastes. We had chicken kebab plates, which come with a generous serving of grilled, marinated chicken breast, yellow rice, Greek salad, and hummus. Everything was fresh and tasty, but two elements deserve special mention. The chicken is the most tender and flavorful of any other Gyro place around, hands down. And the hummus is divine; thick, fresh, and authentic. You won't find a better hummus at any competitors, or anyway I certainly haven't! While you're enjoying a game, stroll, or hang lakeside, I highly recommend you let Gyro Master feed you.

I'm still dreaming about my meal at gyro master. The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Even though they were busy, I got my food fast. The owner is very helpful and nice. Highly recommend this place.

Good, casual spot to get dinner. We tried the falafel pita, chicken pita, and fries. Everything was tasty and the fries were nice and crispy. It's order at the counter and the food comes out pretty quickly. It really is the perfect location right next to Green Lake. We took our food to go and ate by the water! Solid new spot for a quick dinner.

This might be the best food spot in town. The food is amazing and very fairly priced. Large portions too. Staff is very friendly, excellent customer service. The workers here are all good people and they make great food. I highly recommend this place. Plenty of parking can be found in the back of the restaurant under ground . Falafel is my recommendation so good and freshly made

I had to pick a place everyone would enjoy, and, ideally, somewhere we could actually get a reasonable-hour reservation. After a few rounds of back-and-forth, we settled on this place. It was a bit of a walk from our hotel, but no biggie. The restaurant itself is charming, and the hot, fresh pita breads coming out of the oven were a very good omen. The rest of our party arrived, and we were seated toward the back of the room. At first, I noticed a little door literally right next to our table and thought, "UGH, the bathroom is on top of us." Nope. It was a prayer room. So... fine. Then BAM, the bad news. We wanted to order cocktails, and they don't serve any alcohol. WHOOPS, my bad! But honestly, how often do you come across that scenario? A nice restaurant that takes reservations, has a full dinner menu, and serves absolutely no booze. I clearly missed that detail when I made the reservation. Fortunately, the food more than made up for my cocktail disappointment. It started with the fresh pita and some kind of crack oily/herby dip they served with it. If they sold this stuff by the bottle, I would have bought some. Seriously, it was unbelievable. I could have made a meal out of the bread and dip alone - and who is saying I didn't?. My man and I split a mixed meat platter. I honestly can't remember everything that was on it because I was trying to pay attention to getting to know the people I was about to spend 10 days cruising with. I do remember that everything was quite tasty, well roasted, and that the pork was my favorite. So, come for the food, the fresh pita, and that ridiculously addictive dip. Just know before you go: you will not be ordering a cocktail with dinner. But more good news, is that the bill without alcohol will be cheaper.

For some reason I tried it again today and was once again disappointed. Placed an online order to go: Greek fries and a side of gyro meat to throw on top, since sandwiches and bowls are $13-$16! Insane. I saw the bowls, they're not large. Not a great deal by any stretch, but that's lunch hour in Seattle I guess. The fries were soggy, barely any feta on top, and the "gyro" meat is just freakin' weird. It tastes like lamb meatballs. Not at all what I expected. On top of this, my order was not ready and I ended up waiting 15 minutes. Three people in line in front of me and three behind, but just one guy behind the counter taking and prepping orders, tickets popping out of the machine left and right until he cried uncle for some help. "Wow it got busy fast, went from no orders to backed up!" Yeah dude, it's 12:15. People get off at 12, call it in, take a piss and start walking to the restaurant, just like every lunch rush every day in a busy commercial core. I also dislike having to wait in line for a pickup order. I'm in a hurry. If you can't accommodate, I can go somewhere else. Just leave my order out! I did grab a jar of grilled preserved lemons to take home. Not sure what to use them for but they look delicious. All in all, not great, again.

The signature saj bread is cooked fresh on a hot stone and is almost like a Middle Eastern flour tortilla with the way it's super thin and satisfyingly chewy bite. The only seating options are a few large benches on the sidewalk, but there's a poster saying you're welcome to sit at the neighboring bar which opens in the late afternoon provided you purchase a drink as well. Ended up sampling 3 of their wrap options and the Zaatar Wrap was deliciously nutty and fragrant, but texturally there was so many herbs that the center ate a little dry. The Lahme Khuruf (Lamb) was my favorite by far with super juicy ground meat with some tang from the labneh, sweetness, freshness from the tomato, and texture from the pine nuts. Absolute home run on this one! The Awarma and Cheese was a close second, but personally, the flavor profile was just a little less interesting than the lamb. Tip: grab some extra napkins as the wraps can fall apart a bit at the end!

I got a build-my-own saj wrap with the mushroom base saj $6, sumac chicken $7, tomato $1.5, cucumber $1.5, pickled turnip $1, and a side of hot sauce $2. The saj bread itself tasted good, but got soaked through by the juice of the chicken and became very soggy. We walked to a park 10 minutes away to eat the wraps and the wraps were bending. The ingredients are fresh but nothing particularly stood out. I didn't quite taste the mushroom on the wrap, and on top of that, I got charged $2 for the hot sauce, but never tasted it in the wrap or found it on the side. My partner got the falafel saj wrap which was overall ddcent, but he also found the saj bread quite soggy, yet the falafels were on the dry side.

Price wise, the Prince is a little higher but it's definitely worth a stop. You actually can choose between a shawarma sandwich in a pita or saj (thin, unleavened wrap) and definitely spend a couple of bucks more for the saj. Compared to other places, I would say the chicken shawarma has less veggies, including the pickled ones, so for those who do not like pickled stuff, this would be a good version to try. The sandwich is served with a copious amount of the garlic sauce, which was nice but probably a calorie bomb:). Nice, friendly service with limited seating (3.5 tables indoors with a couple outdoors) and a small parking lot.
