Love it, love it, LOVE it. I am thrilled to find a Gyro Shack in my neighborhood. I have long been gyro-starved. I'm chewing as I type... I have The Original (sandwich only); it's a deal for ten bucks. There is a lovely generosity of meat, The flavor is wonderful. There could have been more tzatziki sauce. I believe a gyro should be a bit sloppy - it needs to the moisture tzatziki brings, so I will order some more on the side next time (and there will be a next time....). Im am new to this virtual Gyro foodie crazy. And now I see what all the hype is about. This is my first attempt at eating a breakfast Gyro. And man I am glad I stoped in this spot. We were immediately greeted with a smile, and a hello. I explain to the cashier that it was my first time, and they did recommendations galore. When I mentioned I was a breakfast person they said the supreme would be a good place to start well the supreme ended up being a lot more than expected in taste, and in size. The food was putting my taste buds on high alert. And now I'm hooked. I downloaded the app and behold I got a free Gyro so make sure when you come in ask about scanning the cue code. It's well worth the drive anywhere in Albuquerque. We will definitely be ordering for the office. read more

6/18/24 I just purchased to go and ate the Deluxe Gyro without onions. It was outstanding!! The taziki was very tasty. My husband didn't want one, because he purchased a steak to grill. Needless to say after 1 bite, I had to beg for my gyro back. He couldn't believe how delicious it was. I purchased an extra side of taziki for $1, because I love tazaki. The gyro did not need extra taziki, so I ate 1/2 of it with a spoon, and am saving the other half to put on a mini bagel for breakfast. Next time I'm buying 5 sides of taziki to put on veggies and stuff at home. There was a free lemon cookie in the bag and it was crazy delicious. I could eat a dozen of them! Very happy to have something new, Greek fast food, in the area! I had an original gyro, and my sister tried the Philly style. We both enjoyed them - everything was fresh and very tasty. I didn't care much for the hummus side, because I didn't like kalamata olives put in it, but that's my personal taste. The Greek-style fries, with feta and tzatziki, were a fun twist, and the baklava was also good. Lemon-coconut cookies with white chocolate chips were a tasty surprise. One star off for not being informative about combos. The menu mentions you can get a combo for $4 extra but says nothing about what's included. I had to ask (along with the next several customers). I was told that the combo included any of the listed sides and a fountain drink. I wasn't told, though, that the Greek-style fries were an extra dollar. I don't know what other sides might also cost more. I'm also not sure if the cookie is always part of the combo, since that wasn't mentioned either. This location replaces a Lotaburger, and the layout and decor was pretty much the same as a Lotaburger, but fresh and clean. And with better food! I'll be back for more. read more

Was dying to try this place but I'm so disappointed. Order two rice bowls and our rice was hard and uncooked and the meat was dry and cold. Same for the gyros. Meat was cold and dry. Mostly lettuce. Fries were also cold. I live less than a minute from the establishment it shouldn't have been cold whatsoever. Two stars because the lettuce was edible so was the tomatoes and the sauce was good. Although one sauce in the rice bowl was super chunky. I decided to leave that one alone. Wasted money. Hope it's better for everyone else. Wish they brought a Halal Bros here instead. read more

Been going since before the building opened! My 3 yr old LOVES the tzatziki sauce. My go to is the deluxe gyro.

After seeing the reviews of this new location I decided to give it a try. Gotta say it was a great choice! We had the Super. Added the Greek fries, and a side hummus. The Super was amazing! Superb flavors and the pita was exceptional. More than enough for two people. The Greek fries were wonderful, a bit of spice with a lovely feta tang. The Hummus was a bit disappointing, rather bland considering their ability to season things properly on other dishes. The down side : I intentionally chose to go after what is the "normal " rush hour " 11:00 2:00 , so I wouldn't have to deal with the "lunch rush". I spent 45 minutes waiting for my order. The staff was working at their maximum and the owners were doing their best to keep up. The owners are extremely involved in every aspect of their business and will make you happy. Give them a try! My daughter and I were SO excited to try this new eatery because we love Greek- do NOT waste your money going here. My daughter and I both got salads to go. TRY THIS PLACE! I would give Gyro Shack 10 stars if I could. The building looks very unassuming, but these are the friendliest people, and the food is amazing!
