I don't expect for any fast food restaurant to have swept bathrooms or fresh food, but my experience exceeded all of my standards. Gyroz in Aurora is one of my new favorite places to eat, the food was authentic and I've loved Greek food since middle school. The place is small and can be hard to find (especially during rush hour), but it is worth the efforts. It is kept clean all around, the tables are wiped, and the floors are swept. Hot sauce and ketchup is always stocked neatly next to the napkins. The bathroom had marble countertops and toilet paper inside of the dispenser, instead of on the floor. I could see into the kitchen, and from working in a kitchen myself, I could tell these guys keep it clean. I ordered one of my favorite foods, a Gyro ($7.99) and I could tell it was traditional and fresh before it even got to me. A gyro is made out of lamb meat, but most places give you the kind of thing you'd expect from Burger King. Cooks don't wear gloves, but it didn't bother me because the restaurant was so clean they must wash their hands. My Gyro was worth the price, it was served wrapped in paper and a cup full of fries. The gyro came with lamb, lettuce, tomato, onion, and Tzatziki sauce all in a soft Pita wrap. read more

Goodness. So I'm staying at the doubletree right behind this place. I was hungry and really didn't want to drive anywhere. I give it a try because it's literally 50 ft away. Guys, this place is so fuh-reakin' gooooooood! I got the combo and left the place spending less than $9, brought it back to my hotel room as if it were some contraband, and devoured this amazing, scrumptious, orgasmic gyro. I've eaten here several times - would be an excellent Gyros BUT... their sandwich consistently needs more sauce than they put on, AND THEY CHARGE EXTRA FOR MORE SAUCE!!! Can you imagine any other restaurant charging half a buck for more of their basic sauce (BBQ, Catsup, Mayo, whatever their basic sauce is) if their sandwich is too dry and needs more sauce to be palatable? No kidding, in at least 6 visits the sandwich has ALWAYS been too dry, and store policy is to not put on any additional sauce, but they will sell you about a tablespoon (maybe a nickel's worth of tzatziki sauce) for $.50! CRAZY!!! On some occasions the server has been so embarrassed when I ask for more sauce on the sandwich that they have slipped me a free sauce, but explained its "one time only, because the restaurant is really serious about charging for this". Seriously! Free self service refills on drinks, catsup and hot sauce, but the sauce that is distinctive to a Gyros is served too light, and costs extra to make the sandwich taste acceptable. Is it only me? I've been here with 4 different friends, every one of them wanted more sauce on their sandwich. You might as well put mayo on it and ruin the flavor than to eat it too dry. Why not add a French Dip sandwich to the menu, and leave out the au jus? If you're going to choke your customers, might as well go all the way. Too bad, this could be the best Gyros in town if it had enough sauce. read more

Fist time we went today to have lunch there. The place is new, so the inside looked very clean. A friendly casher greeted us as soon as we walked in. I had falafel sandwich meal and my husband had beef gyros meal. The falafel was very good. It tasted like it was made fresh, still very moist but crispy outside. I loved the taste of it. Meal comes with fries and drink. The fries were made fresh, steaming hot, and the amount is big. I was completely full ( could not finish the fries) after eating it. This review is for the Colfax location that just opened. I have been waiting for this to open for a while so that I could try it. The pita bread and falafel sandwich were very good, but the hummus was a little grainy and not something that would keep me coming back. The interior of the dining room was drab with no music or even television to watch to keep my eyes off the tense staff as they waited to fill orders. I think drive-thru customers will be pleased but walk-up customers not so much. I'm glad I got my food to-go. Unfortunately there is not enough here to deviate me from my usual middle-eastern eatery. If there was a Burger King equivalent for Greek food, this would be it. The food comes out fast, they have a drive thru, but taste and quality are lacking. My gyro came with five ingredients inside the pita: onion, tomato, meat, sauce, and fries. Maybe it's because I'm from the northwest, but I prefer gyros to have at least four vegetable ingredients. Of course, this could have been remedied with alternate styles of gyro available on the menu, but Gyroz has only one. There are really only four pita sandwiches on the menu at all, and then a few salads which looked underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, this wasn't a bad experience by any means, just that I would not return there, or necessarily recommend Gyroz to friends, when there are many other excellent options. But, if you are wanting simply a fast food alternative that isn't your regular American "fast fat" place, then this might be something you want to keep on your radar. read more

Pulled over to look up any nearby locations that were open on a Sunday and stumbled upon this little hidden gem. While the location is a bit of a challenge to get to with the constant flow of traffic on the opposite side and a bit of confusion with the gas station and narrow road, it was nice to see signs specifically guiding one to the drive thru service area and parking area. The young American gentleman behind the service counter was running the drive thru fare as well, but seemed to be skilled in handling both stations well. He was very pleasant natured and not having been there before, he showed me how large the sandwiches were, which helped me to determine how much to order. The wait time was practically non-existent for my to go items. Once home, i was really impressed as to how my gyro was wrapped to prevent its contents from falling out all over the place. Even more impressive was the size of the actual gyro! It was loaded...and i mean...LOADED...with delicious beef/lamb gyro meat! The sandwich had the perfect amount of tzakiki sauce on it and the portion of fries in this combo meal was perfect. The flavors were spot on with my expectations of a "great gyro" and will certainly be going back again in the future. The price point of $26 was very reasonable for my three combo meals in regards to portion size, quality, and convenience. read more

Staying at the Doubletree it was nice to have another food option in walking distance. I ordered the gyro with sauce on the side as many places put too much sauce. However they forgot to give me sauce. The gyro had french fries in it for some strange reason and way too many onions. Seeing the other reviews before I went, I was disappointed that they were over salted with no other seasoning that others got.
