Ordered takeout from this restaurant the other day! Got the coconut shrimp, and the combination noodle dish for dinner! The coconut shrimp was great - super flavorful and loved the sauce. The bowl was okay, shrimp and noodles were yummy - I wasn't a huge fan of the spring roll filling, and the sauce was very light! Next time I'd prob get the noodle bowl with a different protein combo or try something else! Server was super nice and quick to get my food! This is place is located at the small shopping plaza right outside my in-laws' subdivision. We never stopped for the last seven years since they opened. Came in for a pre-Xmas celebration with my wife's cousins from Honk Kong. We talked to the host and ordered a bunch of signature appetizers and dishes: Banh Khot, Banh Yeo, Hen pho, Mi Quang, Bo Luv Lac, and Bun Bo Hue. I'm so glad that I was in the area and all my cousins recommended me to just go to Hen's. Thankfully I came at an off time, because my kids were a little crazy. The pho was decent though I am not a huge fan of the broth. This place is on the trendier side. One of my only gripes is the portion size for protein entrees. I'm keenly aware of the increased price of everything in the world, perhaps that's the best they can do with offering filet mignon, I don't know. I would've taken more onion more anything. Add some vegetables to it, I don't know, but bulk it up. I had to pull out soy sauce because on top of it being such a small amount of the entrée there was barely any sauce. I've been going to this restuarant since around 2019. It is one of my two favorite Vietnamese restaurants (the other one is in NY). From the very beginning, the staff has been friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and has a good vibe. Derrick was the first person I met when I started going to Hen. He's a hard worker, extremely nice, and remembered me even after the first visit. That's always a plus. About a year ago, I moved out of the country, so I've been missing the flavors at Hen. During a recent visit to the area, I had a chance to revisit the restaurant and introduce some other friends to Hen and Vietnamese food. They all loved it as much as I do. The entire staff from Cindy, to Andrew (Cindy's husband who does the majority of the cooking), to Hong (their son who also cooks), to Derrick, and Young (sorry, those are all the names I remember), is very friendly and seek to provide a delightful experience. Andrew asked me how it feels to eat the food at the restaurant a few nights ago. My answer was happy. Over the years, I've had several dishes from the restaurant (and recently, the hot vietnamese coffee, which was delicious, by the way.). I've yet to be dissapointed. I do wish they provided more pickled vegetables/jalapeños to allow for more customization. I would say it was filling for one person and it was very affordable ($14). Personally, I WOULD NOT recommend the pho or BBH. I didn't feel like it compared to the Philly pho or BBH. I think their entrees and broken rice are the way to go here. I was so excited about my first experience at Hen's that I highly recommended going there with my family. I understand it was a Saturday night and they were very busy so waiting 20 minutes for a table wasn't too bad. However from there it went downhill. I felt completely ignored for the first 15-20 minutes after sitting down. I had to wave down two different servers to ask for water which at that time we ordered an appetizer while looking over the menu and figuring out what we wanted to order.
