We went this past Friday and had a great experience. Christopher, our server, was excellent - just the right amount of being there but leaving us alone. He was helpful with recommendations. My husband and I both had ribeyes which were perfectly cooked and very tender. The bread appetizer was delicious and would do two orders next time because I don't want to share any! The music was a bit loud but not unbearable - would have been better if it were a lower volume. I didn't look at reviews ahead of time but it appears we aren't the only ones that had issues with the volume. There was a minor snafu with our order and I attribute that to Christopher not being able to hear my husband. Our only complaint was with the parking. We did valet and had to wait a lengthy amount of time for the car to come (it was cold that night). We were the only people leaving at that time but lots of people arriving. They seemed to only be focused on the arrivals leaving our departure to wait. We are already planning a return visit. I'm hoping the owners look at these reviews and take heed. read more

this place had pros and cons for sure. The food was delicious, licked out plates clean. but the service and wait time was ultimately why i couldn't give a 5 star review. we waited 45 minutes for our appetizer of bread... which was 6 little pieces for $13. we had plastic water cups and when we cut our steaks the entire table shook. if i'm spending over $200 on a meal i would expect top notch glassware and not spending time on waiting for mediocre bread. the atmosphere was great and aesthetic. read more

Had dinner at H this last weekend. Everything was excellent.... service (Bri) did an amazing job taking care of us ...she checked on us and was engaging in conversation but not too invasive!! Food was over the top terrific!! We had the shrimp appetizer and they were huge, both had filets that my husband claimed was the best steak he has ever had, the sides included were mashed potatoes and brocolini and they were great!! We both loved our drinks! And the star of the show is the brown butter cake....if you pass on it, you'd be a fool As a few have mentioned, the music is too loud....for such a beautiful atmosphere, consider turning down the music and I think you will be amazed at the impact! To be fair only open 2 weeks. Food was excellent. Service was mediocre at best. $65 steaks and plastic glassware. Screaming toddlers everywhere. Waited an hour for food after salad. Music was obnoxious and so loud we could not talk to each other. Who wants to listen to crappy music and screaming kids when paying that kind of money. My head was ringing when we got out 2 hours after we arrived. Parking is nonexistent. Have to use parking garages. No one ever came by to express their appreciation for our patience. No public relations whatsoever. They need a professional manager who understands fine dining. For the money, I'm a fan of 1933 in Carmel. No kids, no loud nonsense. The service was fantastic Evan is the main reason to return. The food was good, from the steak to the salmon and everything in between! It was a little loud but it is nice to have something upbeat in Westfield. However the biggest downside and let down were the drinks. The cocktail tasted terrible and watered down. Also using standard ice instead of block or large ball makes you feel like you are at a cheap college bar. The wine menu is very limited and Napa heavy, it really deters away from the concept of being Mediterranean. The strangest part of all, the water glasses are acrylic/plastic. I hope someone reads this and takes it seriously, fixing the drink/bar side will really make it standout but right now it's a major let down. read more

This place is AMAZING! The food and service were exceptional. Savanah was so attentive and recommended great drinks and entrees. My wife had the French 75 and I had an old fashioned. Both were masterfully crafted. As far as food, the house salad is a must, the Korean Short Ribs are gift from God to your mouth, a flavor so deep and rich I almost cried. The beef wellington was also a heavy hitter, perfectly executed culinary mastery. Wonderful experience from start to finish. Exactly what Westfield needed! This place is great! The food... the steaks are so delicious, juicy, tender, & tasty. The Asiago Crusted Chicken is fantastic... rich, creamy & full of flavor. The Italian knots are also delicious. The service... really good & I'm sure will get better. Still new & working out the kinks. The ambiance... wow, beautifully decorated! Our family went last Saturday night with 5 adults and 2 small children. They were so kind to put us in an area that was almost private and was so perfect for us to move around and visit with each other. The experience was phenomenal! Beautiful decor and ambience with great background music. The cocktails,appetizers and entrees were beyond fabulous. Our waitress and other staff members were very attentive and helpful. Terrible initial experience with H Steakhouse, will not be patronizing this establishment. Had a reservation for 4 people, received a phone call the day of letting me know, in a very rude manner by someone named Nick, that if I didn't return his call to confirm my reservation within an hour then they would cancel my reservation. I was in meetings at work all day and wasn't able to call within an hour, but did call a little less than 2 hours after the phone call and spoke with Nick. Nick's voicemail was rude; his live conversation was appalling! I let him know I received a disconcerting voicemail, he asked what was so disconcerting. I let him know that the threat of cancelling a reservation was quite odd, what is the point of a reservation?? Reminded me of the famous Seinfeld episode: "I don't think you understand the point of a reservation. It isn't to take the reservation. It is to make sure a car is available for me to rent!" Nick proceeded to say that I didn't have the professionalism to respond to a text message with a "1" (they also sent me multiple text messages earlier in the same day, again, I'm busy with work, I made a reservation and I'm an adult, I'll be there or let you know I can't make it...) and that maybe they shouldn't have me at their restaurant. Wow! How rude, on so many levels. I told him to cancel my reservation and I won't be coming there ever. Following this terrible interaction, I decided to message H Steakhouse via Facebook. I wanted to make sure someone there heard about this terrible experience so they could address it. That was almost a week ago with zero response. After some brief online searching about this restaurant's owner, the lack of response isn't shocking. In summary: haven't eaten here and never will. Could be the best food in the world, it isn't worth someone being demeaning, condescending, and rude. read more

We dined at the new H Steakhouse in Westfield tonight. It is a family-owned restaurant with ties to Savor and Flamme Burger. It is a beautiful new, very modern building on Mill Street. The inside atmosphere was very pleasing and I believe it seats around 200 people. A bit noisy, but it was a Saturday night with a waitlist. The food was good, and the service was outstanding. We had the garlic dinner rolls appetizer, Asiago crusted chicken, tortelloni Michelangelo, and the 10 oz filet Oscar style. The 3 of us tasted all the entrees. Our favorites were the filet (cooked to perfection over a wood-fired grill), and the tortelloni. The 2 desserts we shared were the highly-recommended butter cake and the chocolate ganache peanut butter torte. We preferred the butter cake, but both were good. KJ was our server and was great and very attentive, as were the other 2 members of the staff who served us. We had to give kudos to Nick, the manager, who was busily working, serving food and bussing tables, all while being extremely charming. Very personable and friendly. Also, a big thanks to the 3 awesome young men parking valets (highly recommended - only $5 and saved walking a block to the parking lot in the cold!) First, I totally understand that they have only been open a short time. Ambiance: The place is very beautiful and pleasant, that's for sure. Parking is non-existent unless you use valet for $10. The music they played was 70's rock I think. Kind of loud but not obnoxious. But really out of place. They should have set the mood with some smooth jazz, Pottery Barn type music. Also, they have these 4 tops (though I didnt see them seat anyone there) with low barrel chairs. has to be super uncomfortable. Food: The oyster Rockefeller was tasty, but cold. We couldnt understand how. Though we were there on V-Day, it was at 4:00 and we were some of the first people seated. Could they have been pre-cooked and then poorly reheated? we opted for the Pasta dishes. Chicken parm was good, but again room temp. Pasta was bland. My wife had the Bolognese, Hers came out hot and had a decent taste. Service: The wait, hostess and bus staff were excellent. All smiles and friendly . Went for V-Day. Booked reservations 3 weeks earlier. We were seated right off the kitchen at a very small table for 2. It was located in an entryway to the porch area. Just a very odd place to put a table. Our server was polite enough but didn't check in as often as he should have. We ordered the raw oysters which were plump and fresh! Skip the $12 garlic rolls. Zero salt in the bread to where anyone would notice its blandness. Very garlicky but served with sweet butter. Just weird. If your name is H Steakhouse, I would expect steaks, fish and chicken choices. Oddly, there were 5-6 Italian dishes too. We opted for the chicken parm and the Asiago chicken, out of curiosity. Pasta was very bland (again no salt whatsoever) and the Asiago cheese coating was thicker than the chicken breast. I had to totally remove the cheese breading from the top and bottom of the chicken. Parm chicken was a bit better. The building itself is very pretty!!! If you go and they want to seat you in the tiny hallway to the left, ask if you can sit in the main area. Bar is really cool. I will go back but maybe order something other than the pasta. Steaks start at $56 and come with nothing. Parking is very scarce unless you pay $10 for valet. read more
