Menudo

Great lil spot in Paso Robles. We walked in and quickly greeted. Server whom may be owner served us quick our drinks and chips and salsa. Another man came to take our order and answer questions about the menu. We ordered the Menudo and New Mexico enchiladas plate The mendo was so great with the flavors. The bowl we ordered came with pata. The ratio of hominy and pork was perfect. The flavor had a nice chili red taste with addition to the cilantro and onion mixture which I added. This is one of the Best menudo bowls I've had this year.( Really probably the best to end my year)I'm so glad we found this little spot but I do want to share with the world because they deserve your presence. The enchilada plate was good also the chili red sauce was light mild flavor not New Mexico fire flavor. Seemed to be the style rather than chili The beans is what I chose for the side. They were nice flavored smashed refried beans. We had salsa and chips which came as we sat down. The chili for that was a bit thicker more red with a bit of kick not hot at all but the expectation that you will not be sad with. This place was so good we wanted to go back the next morning but knew we had a brunch to go to. Please stop by the Family restaurant is Super Friendly. The flavors will make your mouth smile and belly full. Loved the breakfast ready to try the dinner plate combos soon!

One of my favorite restaurants overall in Paso for lunch. The specials are amazing, food is delivered quick and hot. The service is always outstanding. I don't think my drink made it past half way before someone refilled. I always get the #9. My husband got the Chile verde burrito. The chips and salsa are a great touch! Can never go wrong here.

After many years of going to La Mexicana, I guess I had better do my review. First off, this is the go to in town if you want good quality Mexican food. They always come through with good sized portions for the price. The service is always great. I always feel welcomed and taken care of as a customer. They just did a small remodel and the place looks great. I can't say that I have ever had a bad meal here either. If you're looking for great Mexican food and a good price on it, this is definitely the place to go.

A small Mexican restaurant that feels family owned and operated. I think there are a lot of classic combo platters here, but I can only really speak to the breakfast menu since we came here early. There's also a pretty good selection of beers and wines from what it looks like. The service is great and attentive. Going to this place for breakfast before a big annual beer festival is kind of a tradition for my buddies so I tend along this time. Part of the reason they like it is because they enjoy the food and the place is not crazy busy like other places in town during this time. I ended up ordering the chilaquiles and a coffee. Definitely a nice hearty meal prepping my stomach to ingest tons of beer later on in the day, haha. The parking was super easy to find, but I ended up actually walking here from the motel I was staying at which was just three blocks away. a great place and a great find on the edge of the downtown area.

Food, service, the decorations and colors were all excellent and will be back when in town

It was another Chili Relleno kick day. Been having cravings of this lately. Having just shortly eaten before, I said oh why not I am in the area. Delicious as usual at my usual spot. Yes I did write prior to branch out but ... I couldn't resist

Visited 18 July 2022 This is actually my second visit. I was probably recovering from unintentional gluttony why I never wrote a review. The portion sizes are huge!! HUGE!! The table is provided chips and salsa as soon as you sit down. The salsa isn't spicy but it is flavorful. I'd suggest avoiding it at all cost to save room for your meal!! Seriously!! On my first visit on 6 July 2022, I had the a-la-carta beef burritos - $16.95, because I thought it would be smaller than the "giant" burritos. It was MAYBE half inch small. Lol. I also ordered a side of guacamole - $5.95. That was was also a huge dollop that I ended up sharing with the rest of the table. During my 18 July 2022 visit, I wasn't hungry hungry so I thought I would order something small from the Aperitivos (appetizers) section...boy was I mistaken. I got the Asada Quesadilla - $14.95. There was a ton of cheese in it; I would have preferred a little kess. Also, the portion was huge and I ended up taking some to go. I also had a regular margarita - $8.00, but it seemed watered down. There are also local beers $4.00 and imported beers $5.00. There are a few on tap and other bottled beers. There is also a small selection of wines. The food here is delicious but just be prepared for large portions. I'd even suggest sharing a meal between two people.

They gave us complimentary chips and green salsa to start with. That Green salsa is a bomb! I will visit this place again and again just for that sauce/salsa ! I had shrimp tacos. They look basic but shrimp was cooked to perfection! They know how to grill ! These are some amazing tacos , and they tasted wild after adding that hot salsa on top. I love it when someone serves me basic food right! We also had grilled fish plate which came with beans, rice, grilled fish and salad. This fish was grilled perfectly but it was bit bland. The amazing salsa helped to add more flavour. Overall, lovely place ! Definitely visit again!

We got 2 asada, 2 lengua, 2 shrimps, and 2 pastor -- all packed with flavors while it's hot and fresh. I love hot sauce, and it def hit the spot. Staff are always so friendly, tacos were not salty at all, and they always packed the food so neatly and just the right ratio of meat. They have their own parking lot to the side so if you can't find parking, park there. We ordered take out and even with the 17 min drive back home, the tacos still tasted fresh. I can't imagine what it would be like if we dine in. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting PR! Well worth the visit

Not knowing where to eat on Good Friday, we decided to try a small hole-in-the-wall spot after…read morereading several positive reviews. There are a few things worth noting. First, the restaurant is quite small with a very quiet atmosphere--surprisingly so, especially with a jukebox that wasn't in use. The space didn't feel particularly clean, and the chairs were outdated and could definitely use some refurbishing. When we received the menus, I was honestly shocked by the prices. This is something I wish more reviewers had mentioned. We ordered a shrimp tostada (about $13) and shrimp fajitas (around $24). The shrimp tostada was disappointing--the shrimp was chopped so finely that it was hard to tell it was even there. It was overwhelmed by cucumber, tomato, and cilantro. The fajitas were similarly underwhelming: the shrimp were cut in half and curled up, with maybe around ten pieces total, but there was an excessive amount of large-cut onions and bell peppers, which made the dish less enjoyable. On the positive side, the staff was friendly, and the horchata we ordered was excellent. I did mention that the bell peppers were overabundant and cut too thick, but my feedback didn't seem to go anywhere. One concern I had was seeing staff handle multiple tasks--taking payments, cleaning tables, and serving food--without ever noticing handwashing, which was a bit off-putting. I'm not completely writing this place off, as I'd like to return and try their breakfast. Most reviews are positive, so perhaps this was just an off night. Still, given today's prices, I expect the quality to match. Beans were bland and rice was cold, I'm sure made way ahead of time. I'll update my thoughts after a second visit--judge for yourself in the meantime.

The restaurant is right in the heart of downtown Paso Robles, making it an easy stop if you're exploring the area. We had reservations through OpenTable and arrived a little early. They seated us within a few minutes, and although outdoor seating was available, it was around 97°, so we were happy to wait for an indoor table. The inside has a really cool Spanish hacienda vibe with rustic wood beams, warm lighting, and plenty of unique décor to take in. It's a fun space with lots of character and is connected in the back to the tiki bar next door, making it easy to continue the evening with a drink. The atmosphere was lively without being overly loud, and we really enjoyed the classic '80s music playing softly in the background. The oysters were fresh and very good. My wife ordered the ceviche and enjoyed it. I had the hanger steak salad--it was decent, but I'd probably skip the beets next time and order something different. Overall, the food was good, but it didn't quite rise to the level of "great." Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, Fish Gaucho is worth a visit for its downtown location, unique Spanish-inspired atmosphere, and solid food. While there are probably stronger culinary options in Paso Robles, we'd happily come back to enjoy the ambiance, check out the connected tiki bar, and sample a few different menu items.

Tucked into the corner of a Starbucks location, this cute little spot is small but super inviting--and definitely lives up to the hype. As soon as we walked in, the place was clean and filled with the delicious smell of spices and fresh food. I ordered the chilaquiles (not listed on the menu, but they'll make it for you with your choice of meat or traditional eggs for the same price). I went with chili verde, and wow--I was not disappointed. It was loaded with meat, sauce, cheese, cilantro, onion, and sour cream. Absolutely worth the $13, and I'd 100% order it again--next time with al pastor! We also tried the chicken enchilada plate ($13), which was just as good. Great flavor, the perfect amount of sauce and cheese, and it came with rice and beans on the side. For drinks, they've got a wide selection, including alcoholic options. I grabbed a Jarritos--just a heads up, they're $3.50 each, a bit pricey, but ice cold and refreshing. Overall, this place was a hit for us. The waitress, Erma, was friendly, polite, and attentive--which, let's be honest, isn't always easy to find. The restaurant is clean, has plenty of seating, and judging by the steady flow of customers, it's definitely no secret anymore! Give it a try and see for yourself--I'm pretty sure you'll love it too.
