So I've been to the Panera and Daphne's in this area about a million times, and The Habit is a great addition to the area! The burger scene just hasn't been the same in Pasadena after Fuddrucker's suddenly closed. I really enjoyed my meal here. The restaurant is bright & clean, and I thought that food was a really good value. We got 2 burgers, 1 salad, & 1 order of sweet potato fries for only $17. Also, their system of you letting pick a table, sit down, & wait for your coaster for buzz is nice & doesn't create a crowd at the pick-up counter. Lately I've been trying a lot of BBQ style burgers, & version at The Habit is better than the one at Dog Haus. The lettuce, tomato and pickle are very fresh & I loved how the cool veggies provided a contrast to the hot burger. The side salad is nothing special, but at least it's inexpensive, and they were nice enough to allow dressing on the side. Im feeling generous today, so im going to round up the rating to 4.0. After passing it on the way home from work each day, a co-worker and I decided to stop by for lunch. No trouble finding parking. It's in a shared private lot w/many other stores. The atmosphere is spacious and clean. It was very busy on my lunch break. We had to wait for a place to sit. Staff is friendly-they held the door open for me when I was leaving and offered to take my tray/trash to the trashcan for me. What fast food joint does that?! What did I consume? The Original #1 Charburger with fries (upgraded to sweet potatoes) & a drink ($7.88). If a burger place can't make a good hamburger, what else is there to base it on? The food is a solid 3.0. The burger wasn't bad, but there was nothing special about it. I liked the idea of chopped and grilled onions and my burger wrapped up on paper for me to eat it. The amount of burger you received was worth the $3. The sweet potatoe fries were bland w/o salt, but once added were good. Sadly, I found myself consuming the fries more than the burger. Came here late on a weekday and was relieved to find that it was still open. Parking is not an issue since they are located in a plaza with lots and lots of parking! The interior is spacious and clean and the staff is pretty friendly. Ordered their Charburger with Cheese, a side of Sweet Potato Fries, and a soda. Total came out to $8.48, which is a bit pricey for a burger meal. They give you a pager/coaster thingy (like at CPK) that buzzes when your order is ready. That was unexpected. When our orders came out, my friend and I were a bit taken aback at the size of our meal. The burgers and sides were smaller than we were expecting/used to. But you know what, it turned out to be really filling. The burger was good, and how can you go wrong with sweet potato fries? All in all, a satisfying meal. The only con is that we felt a little rushed, but that is our fault because we came really close to closing and didn't want to stay too late. While I did have a good experience here, would I come back? Probably not, just because I'm cheap and would rather go to In-N-Out. Given the positive reviews I've seen on the veggie burger at Habit Burger, I was quite curious to try their offering. I normally am not a fan of garden patties are they are overloaded with seasoning, and a bit too salty for my taste. So the packaging for the burger comes in a sturdy plastic tray, which could come in handy if you wanted to save it as a spare container for another day. Inspection of the burger showed that the lettuce and tomatoes looked quite fresh. The amount of sauce is not overdone, which is how I preferred my burger dressed. Biting into the burger I noticed that the bun is quite good, a fluffy wheat bun that is not in the least bit dry. The texture and taste of the patty reminds me of a tender chicken sandwich. Although I was hoping this Habit location also offered an option from Beyond or Impossible Meats, this vegetarian was quite satisifed with this more traditional item. I was bummed when Boston Market closed. Only recently did I discover that it was replaced by this California native charburger chain. I been in love with the Habit since last year, and prefer this over many other burger joints. So far, this might be the best Habit I've visited. Lots of parking in the plaza. I can't say what the place is like during the busy times, as I came around 5pm on a Wednesday, but from what I saw, I'd probably enjoy eating here. Spacious dining area with a modern decor, as well as several metal tables outdoors. There's a sign that specifically states non-smoking for the outdoor patio area, which is a welcome sight. The outdoor tables are under an enclosure and looks to have heat lamps, so even when it's raining, still a good option. Contemporary background music played a lot of songs I liked. Are they psychic?! Individual men and women's restrooms in the back. Friendly staff. The coaster buzzers flash and vibrate when your order's ready, and the lady behind the counter ran through the order to make sure everything was right. I enjoy their Double Charburger, and have had the Teriyaki Charburger and BBQ Bacon Charburger at other locations. Ingredients are fresh, with a toasted bun, and flavorful meat. A small condiment bar lets you add some spice, with pepperoncinis, jalapenos, and yellow chili peppers, along with sauces. Good fries too. read more

I would take a Habit burger over In-n-Out any day. Some may disagree, but the proof is in the product. Everything is just so fresh and wonderful. We usually go for Charburger with cheese, everything on it. However, the entire menu offers something for everyone. Fresh, delicious salads with freshly grilled chicken or Albacore Tuna... the choices are unlimited. You can ask for things to be served your way, ie... hold the pickles, protein style.. etc. The fries are always piping hot, perfectly salted... grab a few ranch dressings (you have to ask for it), and simply enjoy. To my Yelp peeps who think this place is better than In N Out....really? No. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed what the Habit was throwing out. I got the char with cheese. I like that the grilled onions are diced. Random...but bonus points. The fries were decent, but the onion rings looked delicious. Note to self. Yay for a burger place that offer options for non-red meat eaters! My chicken club ($6.75) was pretty good...a bit heavy on the mayo but nothing avocados can't fix. My friend got the Veggie burger and she really liked it too - it was huge & she added avocado ($1) and they weren't skimpy with it! I thought that our non-red meat entrees actually looked better than my other friend's charburger! Their regular fries are disappointing though (soggy, not crispy enough). The sweet potato fries are much better (if you are gonna go the fries route). Everything is priced pretty reasonably for a fast-casual place. Their dining area is super spacious and neat. My friends & I sat there for over 2 hours catching up and no one bugged us at all to leave. Super easy parking with a huge lot. It's been a while since I've had The Habit but I thought that I should give it a second try since the first time that I had it, the greasy SB burger stood out to me. This time, I got the Charburger meal. I thought that the burger was pretty good but it was lacking something. Maybe a sauce to give it an extra punch like how In N Out has the animal style sauce? I'm still trying to figure out the answer to this question. However, I did grab some extra jalapenos and pepperoncinis to spice up the food (pun intended). The fries were good, not much to say here. What I really enjoyed was the fresh strawberry lemonade with lime. It tasted so refreshing and tastes perfect with a little bit of ice so that you don't water it down. I was pleasantly surprised and delighted when I came here for lunch on Saturday. I ordered the Grilled Tri-Tip Sandwich with bbq sauce, a side of sweet potato fries and a Mocha Malt. The tri-tip was very flavorful, smokey and juicy without making the grilled sourdough soggy. I'd definitely order it again. The sweet potato fries were tasty and plentiful. I tasted my husband's regular fries and they were tasty too although they didn't give as many. The malt was delish! It tasted alot like Carl's Jr so I didn't mind at all. They use real ice cream not the nasty soft serve stuff that has an aftertaste. The restaurant was busy and the workers were friendly. Love the new location in Pasadena. It is surely going to hurt the other local burger places, Carls, Tops, etc.. Why go anywhere else. I was a little disappointed in the albacore tuna sandwich and onion rings, sandwich was very oily and was soggy on take out when I got home, less than 5 min away. Terrible Service! Ordered online and went to pick up at the pickup time. I told them "the last name is xxx", one of them looked at the bags and said it wasn't there, and told me that the order might not have arrived yet, asked me to sit there to wait. A few minutes later I felt something was wrong, so I showed them the order email to another staff there. She said that's the right location, and asked me about the name again. I told them, "last name is xxx", I used the last name because my last name is a very simple one. One of the staff looked at the bags again and said it wasn't there yet. I told them to check again as the order was placed quite a while ago, and told her what I ordered. The staff looked again and then took one of the bags to me, and said, "the name is wrong!", in a tone of blaming me. That's ALL she said when putting the bag down in front of me. I looked at the name on the bag and the name was correct, so I asked them why she said that the name was wrong. One of the staff looked at it and acknowledged to the other staff that the name was indeed correct. Then that staff said, "I go by first name"! WTH! If she really only goes by first name, why didn't she ask me for the first name then? I told them multiple times that the last name was xxx. Obviously she's being defensive and didn't want to admit her carelessness. There's no "thank you" or "sorry" or anything for their carelessness, all I got was attitude from the staff. They were not even that busy at the time, there were only two bags on the counter for them to check, and we were the only customers there. I can't believe the place could possibly piss off a customer who just went there to pick up only. Because of the delay, both the burgers and the fries became soggy and cold. My wife and I picked them because we wanted to support local businesses in this difficult COVID-19 time. With this kind of customer service, we'll never go to this Habit Burger ever again. read more

Horrible experience. There was a fifteen minute unexplained delay upfront. Then they were out of ice, with the ice machine broken. When you pay $2.39 for a medium soda, you should be able to get ice. Then they were out of ketchup. The burger was mediocre at best, with unfresh tomatoes. The $3.39 side caesar salad was limp and tasteless. They seem to be having issues with COVID-19. Recommend avoiding this location for the next few months, until they can get their act together. read more

Pasadena Rocks for making things right even without asking. I just had a terrible experience at the Habit located in Rosemead, CA location. As my wife and I walked in to order our food, we noticed that the employees were hosting a gift exchange out on the dinning room and not necessarily paying attention to the customers that were walking in to place their food orders. Honestly, we didn't think it was a huge deal so my wife and I ordered our food as soon as a cashier tended to us. Once we ordered, I was asked for my # and was told that I would be texsted as soon as my order was ready to be picked up. Sure, that didn't seem like it would be a problem so my wife and I decided to just wait it out in our car. 10m turned to 15m, then 30m of waiting. After waiting for 30m, my wife decided to check in on our food while I waited in the car. 3m later, my wife is texting me for our receipt order # claiming that the Manager (I believe her name was Stephanie) accused her of already picking up the food 10m ago. My wife pointed out that she wouldn't be wasting our time by asking for our food if we had already picked it up. About this time was when I walked back in the restaurant and witnessed the employees still caught up in their Secret Santa exchange and asked what was the hold up. The manager then explained that our food had been picked up by someone else and clearly no one paid attention as she claimed that someone had just grabbed it off of the counter. As I mentioned, since they were more involved in who got who for secret Santa, my order was stolen by someone else. What was upsetting was that, 1. I never received a text to tell me that our order was ready, 2. She didn't offer a refund, 3. She offered to re cook my order but that I would have to wait a bit so that other orders could be cooked first, 4. Was rude about the entire experience and when I asked for the District a manager name, she mumbled the name "Greg." No last name was given, just the name "Greg." As if I was supposed to know who Greg was. On another note, "Great way to keep a safe social distance by having a Secret Santa gathering out in the open so customers could see during business hours! (Not!) Here was my outcome: I received a full refund from Rosemead, as they did not offer me one, visited the Pasadena, CA location right after, ordered the same items, and I have to say....."like night and day!" Not only did Pasadena apologize for the rude and under par experience that I had at Rosemead, but they listened, and gave us a 50% off of our order to make it right! Wow! I wasn't (nor) would I ask for a discount, but this team knew what they needed to do to make things right for their customers (even without asking). Pasadena, "you guys rock!" I can clearly see the difference between Managers who lead and those that clock in and can't wait to clock out just to say they earned! And...they only took 10m to have my order. We got here about 10:10pm and asked if it was still ok to eat in... they were super nice and welcoming. We ordered two charburgers, one regular fries, and another half fries half sweet potato fries. I keep forgetting that I've already been here before, lol... but I was craving a burger over The Corner Bakery as I was waiting for my car at Sears nearby. I think they guy at the front gave me free cheese on my burger b/c I told him I didn't want it b/c I was on a diet and it was fifty cents extra (I was being cheap, fifty cents is a lot when you think about it). Many burgers that I eat from places like this usually feel heavy, greasy, and make me feel guilty after eating it. Not The Habit's though! I ordered the Charburger (no cheese) with everything on it, my friend ordered the Charburger with cheese and everything on it. We ordered one regular fries and one sweet potato fries. I love that there are peppers and jalapeños on the side that you can grab yourself. Fries and sweet potato fries were nothing too special, but who doesn't love fries...from anywhere? This is a really good burger joint and only a block away from my work so I have been frequenting this place for lunch. Overall everything is good. Good food, orders come out fairly quickly, but I came here today and ordered my usual, Santa Barbara style, but today instead of 2 parties I was only given one.
