The Habit is pretty good! Service is satisfactory and the ladies at the register are kind and patient. Food: I've had the char burger, santa barbara char, sweet potato fries and normal fries. Everything is good. I wish they gave more fries because it seems kind of skimpy sometimes. I like their selection of soft drinks, and carry a few ice teas and lemonades. I witnessed The Habits food truck park very recklessly, thus trapping a car within the parking lot. Now, this wasn't my car, but I witnessed the customer struggle to get out before entering the restaurant and asking civilly to move the truck. Even though I am not the driver, as a witness to this, I am appalled by this behavior. This is an excellent fast food burger place because the hamburger patties are made from fresh ground beef like In-N-Out. I don't know if this is true but I heard that their patties are made from single chunks of cow, not like McDonald's where you can get 100 different cows in one patty. I like the quality and tastiness of the food here, who needs super expensive trendy build your own burger restaurants when you can just eat here? I LOVE the charbroiled flavor and how you can get guac and mushrooms on your burger. The ability for them to work with whatever customer order you think of. Yum-O! In the beginning, their burgers was like okay, it's a burger to me. Whatevers....then I found out about their toasted sourdough buns and that was my forever game changer. Price wise The Habit is in between In-N-Out and Shake Shack. So for what you get the price is very reasonable. On top of it you can customized the way you like it. I love mine with sourdough buns, extra tomatoes, easy sauce, no onions, and no pickles. I also love getting their sweet potato fries. Consistently helpful about customizing your burger (e.g. extra tomato, no onions, changing bun to sourdough, etc.), unlike McD and Chick-Fil-A where they do charge for extra lettuce and tomato. 3. Plenty of parking. 4. After your meal you can get Thrifty's ice cream, just a short walk away. Cons: 1. It's slower than fast food. As long as you know this it's okay. I just ordered through Uber eats from the Pasadena on foothill Habit and I can't express how wonderful Denise the store manager is and how beautifully she turned an unpleasant experience into a wonderful one. The food that was delivered was not what we had hoped for. I went down to the restaurant and Mrs Denise treated me extremely kIndly. She not only remade everything, but offered my kids drinks, extra fries and even made an extra sandwich for us. She also gave me some cards to redeem in the future. I was so touched by her overwhelming generosity and consideration for having to drive to the restaurant after I had paid $12 for Uber eats charges for the delivery of a few burgers. Worst experience I've ever had at a Habit. Been a loyal customer for well over a decade, but definitely not coming back to this location. Sunday night, around 7pm placed the order for my parents and I. ( simple order, no modifications) 40 MINUTES later still no food. At about the 35 minute mark I had asked about the status of my order but was dismissed. (Zero sense of urgency behind the counter or in the kitchen.) Saw 2-3 other customers asking for their money back because of the wait time so I did the same. On the receipt the manager wrote "impatient" but I think 40+ minutes for "fast food" is ridiculous. This review is pertaining more to the General Manager of this store then to Habit itself and we already know how good The Habit is. Frances Rubio is by far one of the best managers I've come across. She is passionate about what she does, diligent about paying attention to detail and cares about her customers, you can tell what she does is more then a job for her. We've been coming to this location for over a year now and though I get the same thing every time, Frances has progressively picked up on this and begins preparing our food at times as we are walking in or at least telling her employees to begin preparation. She also knows how we like extra sauces with our food so now without even having to ask they are already on our tray when we pick up our food. These little things tell me she really cares about her customers and views them as people. Habit you have more then just an employee with Frances you have a passionate, caring person who displays these qualities in her work. Keep her happy, people like her don't come around too often. read more

We came by again this weekend for yummy burgers & onion rings! It's kind of like an upgraded In N Out. As luck would have it, there was no line and we received great customer service as usual. I found an open table & sat down first. They called our number so quick, hunny didn't finish getting our drinks so I went to pick up our food. By the time we walked back to our table, the 2 tables next to us that originally had other customers, we're already bussed & ready to go. That was lightening fast! How did they do that? My usual Teriyaki burger was delicious with a grilled pineapple slice and swiss cheese, yummy!! I've also tried the Fresh Albacore Tuna sandwich which is a steak instead of a tuna salad. This is delicious and lighter than getting a burger on the days you want to get something other than a burger. The Tri Tip is also very good and juicy. Don't forget to get the onion rings, they have some of the best in town! I haven't tried the shakes but have heard good things about it. It's located off Rosemead and Foothill in a plaza with Rite Aid and Chuck E Cheese. Find the right time to go when there aren't lots of kids parties at CEC, otherwise, the parking is packed. When I found out they have a BBQ bacon charburger as well as onion rings, only one thing entered my mind: making The Habit version of the western bacon cheeseburger (which happens to be my all-time favorite burger). I have tried almost everything on their menu and think the Ahi is the best thing on their menu, my husband loves the tri tip. Good fries, better than In N Out, but they burgers can't touch being as good as from In N Out.
