First time at this Habit Burger location. Came here on a whim. Just craving burgers! This place is located in the plaza with Chuckie Cheese and Whole Foods. There's plenty of parking as it is a shared lot. Upon entering there was no line. In addition to ordering my go to char burgers I also wanted to grab fries and try a salad for the first time. Since I've never ordered a salad at Habit before I ask the staff what their popular salads were. They were kind enough to explain to me the ingredients in each of their salads. I went ahead and ordered the Santa Barbara Cobb salad, regular fries, sweet potato fries, and my burgers. Everything was good for the exception of the salad. So much blue cheese! You know what blue cheese tastes like, not pleasant eaten on its own. I managed to drench my salad with the ranch sauce I asked in the side. I know it defeats the purpose of eating a "salad", but that's just me. This salad must be eaten quickly since the lettuce gets soggy pretty quick. I haven't given up on salads, this one was probably just not for me. Other than me ranting about the salad, it was still an enjoyable meal. Burgers were juicy and grilled to perfection. The Habit is insane with their high prices. A family of four (2 young kids) ordered before me and it was over $70. After hearing this I looked up at the menu to see ridiculous prices. $3.09 for a small drink or bottled water, over $20 for double char with cheese combo, just insane. I could deal with the high prices if the food was worth it, but it's a little tiny burger like In and Out. This fake inflation needs to stop. Then there is the slow service and guaranteed to get your order wrong. My son won't even come here with us anymore because they always mess up his order. I guess I'll be joining the "No go" group until the prices come back down to reality. The Habit no longer has malts. The chocolate shake was flavorless. They have replaced their hamburger patties and they are dry and small. They were over seasoned with both salt and pepper. Instead, my sandwich was splattered with lots of mayo where you could only taste mayo. I also got the 1/2 French fries and 1/2 onion rings and was given fries with 2 small pieces of onion rings lol proportion at its finest. However, we have stopped, for one reason only -- our to-go orders are consistently wrong. Both of us have specifications (the usual types of things -- no mayo, sauce on the side, etc.) for our orders, and four different times, we got our orders home and something was wrong. So we switched to Subway for our takeout sandwiches. I appreciate that this is a very busy place, but it seems that an extra minute should be taken to ensure the order is filled correctly. The Habit tends to be a pretty standard go to fast food spot for me. This particular location tends to be a bit of a bit or miss though. Their charburgers are pretty good across the board. Their onion rings are also usually crispy even to go, but the portions tend to vary every time I go. It's usually stingy or generous. There's like no in between. I typically order online and the orders are usually pretty accurate. They have given me cheese on my burgers a few occasions even when I ask for no cheese. If you're lactose intolerant, I recommend checking your pick up orders before you leave. I can't recommend their crispy chicken sandwich at this location. I only ordered it once, but it was completely dry and inedible :( I think with this location, I've had better luck with my evening/night orders, so I might stick to ordering for dinner instead of lunch. Double-charburger with cheese and bacon.. that's me all day. I like the Habit's burgers a lot. It took me years to try it and I cant explain why. Good burger patty, good bread, slices of american cheese... comes with mayo, grilled onions, pickles lettuce & tomatoes unless preferred otherwise. I've had the bbq bacon charburger too and that's pretty good, as well. The fries are nice, crispy & salty. Just the way I like 'em. And they have blue powerade which is my favorite so I'm pretty content at The Habit. Service has always been friendly at this location and others I've gone too. Might have to wait a little while, especially during the lunch rush because they cook to order but to me it's no big deal. I know I'll be getting a good meal. I also like that they have an outdoor patio if you want to enjoy that burger outdoors. I've also been told by a friend that you can top their burgers with pastrami. I'm gonna have to try that.
