I will continue to make it my business to share my experiences...especially when I spend just about $20 for a greasy ass hamburger, fries and a small drink... topped of with a shot of discrimination. Yes, that's right...in 2026 we continue to deal with some folk that are as stupid as they look. I walked into the station here in Pleasanton, I was the only person in line, a well educated African-American woman... everyone working here, looked at me as if I was a foreign object. They proceeded to help the Asian man that came in behind me. I waited patiently to give my order only for them to get a completely wrong. I guess this is the stupidity that they process I mean, how hard could it be to take a hamburger order? Anyways, they got my hamburger all wrong., gracefully I sat down and begin to eat only to start feeling sick with about three bites in I realized that they did not give me ranch and mustard for my greasy ass burger I went back and asked for some ranch to get my fries in as well as mustard. I was told they charge $.60 for a little 1 ounce thing of ranch. I said oh that must be new because I've gotten ranch in the past. It was free but OK. As I was walking back to my seat I saw this white man sitting down eating his food with two sides of ranch. I politely asked him if he knew how much they charged for the ranch. He looked at me and said oh no, it's free with your order. Wow...right... I will say the only reason why I landed in this place for dinner tonight is because I'm on my way home from work. My car decided to take a dump. So while I wait for AAA, I thought OK it's a good time to get dinner. I guess I was completely unaware that the side of dessert would've been a dose of discrimination and a few incompetent employees. Another lesson learned. I hope they read this and change their ways and approach and most importantly get some additional training so that they can effectively serve each and every customer equally. read more

Ordering online in advance was easy, and there was plenty of parking available in the plaza on a Friday early evening. Got the tempura green beans with ranch (seemed a little skimpy on the serving, but crispy and yummy). Also got a caesar salad with bacon added. They strangely put apple chunks in this, and although I like apples on their own, I'm not of fan of apples in my caesar salad. And it wasn't just a single piece like it accidentally got mixed in, there were a good handful of pieces in there... so weird to find. I took them out and enjoyed my meal nonetheless. Nicely decorated and they offer inside and outside dining. We had a BOGO for sides and picked up some half onion rings and half French fries, along with Tempura String Beans for the road. Plenty of parking in a busy shopping center. Went for a late lunch and it wasn't crowded at all. Restaurant was clean. However restrooms were not. Condiment area were clean! They now charge for ranch condiment. I bought a chicken sandwich and a side which cost 26 bucks and then I added tip. Still charged me for ranch. Absurd. If you want jalapenos or yellow peppers, go ahead and take a pound of those, but for half an ounce of ranch, you pay. Also, drinks only have a choice of LARGE in the app when you do your entree first. It asks if you would you like to add a drink, but they only give you the most expensive option. I think Habit's prices are quite similar to those of a four-star restaurant, and the quality isn't particularly impressive. I've been a customer for ten years, mainly because it's nearby. However, during my last visit, I was charged an extra 60 cents for ranch dressing for my fries. While 60 cents isn't a significant amount, I found it disrespectful to the customer and saw it as poor service, especially since their star rating suggests they should care more about customer experience. The Chicken Salad: Yes I know its a burger joint and I went with chicken. What can I say. I was in a chicken kind of mood and I rationalized that if I got the chicken then I could go ahead and order the onion rings. The greens were fresh and the accessories like the tomato and cucumber had great taste to them. The chicken was well seasoned and tasty. The dressing was a big letdown. Yes I went with low cal but man it was bad. It had an off taste to it, bland, under seasoned, seemed to lack any sort of acid, and instead of adding nothing to the salad it seemed to take away flavor. I had heard of Habit Burger many times in the past few years. Since High School... the definite place to get Burgers everyone was sure to love has always been In-N-Out. But recent articles popping up on the web, and even YouTube videos demanded I give this place a try... My first few ventures were unsuccessful. I always saw a line backed out to the door so I was pretty unmotivated to go and always went to some other place next door to eat. But then one day I realized I waited at similar lines in the previously mentioned burger joint, so I might as well tough it out. I'm glad I did. My first impression walking in was that it was notably small. Smaller than many recognized fast food competitors, but this was possibly intentional. The location was warm inside, and kept the smell of burgers in the air. The prices were very affordable for very large burgers. I must say their burgers are unique to their own taste. The Charburger tasted more like what you imagined a burger to be... and of good quality. Unlike some other burgers which taste. Ore like cheese and thousand island... The charred taste, fresh ingredients and superior bun is easily a burger that would be almost twice the price at a formal restaurant. HOLY MOTHER OF ALL BURGERS. I've never been to the Habit Burger Grill. Until today that is. Everyone always told me it was so good that I had to try it. Months later, that is exactly what I did. I was expecting more In-N-Out quality burgers, but no. Not at all. Habit Burger surprised me in the best way possible. I ordered a Double Char with swiss cheese and bacon, a side of fries, and a drink. Grand total? $10, not bad at all. Especially considering it was quite possibly the BEST burger I have eaten in years. I don't how they do it, but they did it. The meat is so flavorful and they are generous with toppings and fries. Also, they have amazing Strawberry Lemonade. I love that they don't make it too sweet, because normally I have to cut it with water or something. Everything at this restaurant is on point! Now this is a good all-american burger joint! I gave this place a try. Clean inside, and not stuffy. I ordered the BBQ Bacon Char Burger. I feel like they shafted me on the bacon, but all together the burger was fairly clean tasting. Not overly greasy, but juicy and savory. My buddy had the Double Char, only he said his was a bit greasy. The bottom line for me was that I did NOT have that "uuugh, greasy meat overkill" feeling afterwards. I guess mine was just made right. Spent under $8 total. The onion rings were ok, only they put too much salt on them. They also offer sweet potato fries as well. For you health nuts, they also offer a Fresh Albacore Tuna Sandwich (next on my list to try), Chicken Club, and Veggie burger. If it was between In-n-Out, Five Guys, Athens' Burgers, or The Habit. I'd give the edge out to this place beating them all. Why? B'cuz of the slightly lower price and the post-food-coma without guilt gave this place that edge, in my opinion.
