This place is a fail, maybe it will improve, but so far I am not impressed. I've been in twice and there were issues both times. I completely agree with the other yelpers who noted how dirty this place is, both times there was trash all over the floor and the tables were dirty. The second time I tried to go there I was waiting in line for several minutes and when we got up to the counter there was another wait while the employee disappeared. A few minutes later we were told that they were closing early, over two hours early and they had taken their last order, from the person who was in front of us. Just to explain, there was no note on the unlocked door informing anyone that they were closing so early, nor could the employees be bothered to speak up earlier, instead they allowed us to wait in line for no explained reason or bother to apologize. I sadly have to change my review to reflect my daughter getting food poisoning here yesterday after eating half a burger (didn't finish it because it tasted off to her, glad she didn't! )She was sick the rest of the day. We also contacted the corporate office to let them know they are serving bad meat. We hope the management will be aware that food safety needs to be priority. Love habit burger but we just went to dinner after a movie at this location. Very disappointed. We bought a drink so we could have ice tea. The tropical tea wasn't brewed. So we drank the other black tea and went to sit in the porch. Went back in and they had dumped the black tea an hour before close. The girl locked the fro t door at 9pm when closing was 9:30. The 1 star is for THIS location. The Habit is generally a great choice for a good burger. However, this location (probably because it is new, is pretty awful at getting your order correct and in a decent amount of time. This is especially the case if you customize your burger in any way... even just getting a plain burger for your child. The food is delicious, it's just gonna take a LONG time and it probably will be prepared incorrectly if you customize anything. Oh! And don't do Curbside, they pay ZERO attention to it. read more

I placed an order online for a certain pick up time and our food was waiting for us as we arrived. We were welcomed in by the staff as we walked the thr doors. Very friendly and asked if we would like any sauces (their ranch is a must!!!). My son got his usual, the double char with cheese and fries and it is always spot on. My daughter got the chocolate sundae, the ice cream is creamy and they use Hershey's syrup do you know it's good, also topped with whipped cream and nuts. Seriously one of the best sundaes for under $4. I wanted to give the Impossible Char a try, I've have various things made with Impossible meat and it is ok depending on how it is cooked. This wasn't my thing, their Char burgers are always tasty and so flavorful that the Impossible Char just doesn't hold up to the others. Love their burgers, but service was horrible. Was in line behind two families of 5 & 4 a little before 7:00 on Sunday, 1/2/22. Decided to use kiosk. Worked fine, but kept saying my card/ApplePay was declined. Tried a few times because I knew it was fine. Finally, stepped out to get wallet. Doors were locked upon return in less than 60 seconds. Young woman came to door. Said they are closed. It was 7:05. I asked if that's why kiosk didn't work. She said probably and closed the door. Hours on door state they don't close until 10pm. Today we saw Wakanda Forever at the AMC Dine-In in Poway. The movie was great and anyone's who's seen it already knows. But, this review is about my first visit to Habit Burger. I know, I know.... "You haven't been to Habit Burger?" No, not until today. Creekside Plaza was a great place to visit. Quite a few eateries. Some recent changes in my life have me modify food choices. Meat is not on the menu for me now. It's a bit of a difficult for persons like me that have become kinda vegan. Whether you have to or need to, finding a place where there's more on the menu so your group can all say yes to, can be a challenge. Especially "fast food" places. Well, Habit Burger to the rescue! They have a Veggie Burger and Salads! The four of us found what we wanted. A double burger, a wrap, and fries were on the table along with my "vegan" choices. And now that I know, Habit Burger becomes a winner on my new list of places where I can go with my family and we all are happy. (Sizzler is #1 for us still). And, if anyone has suggestions for other places with menu choices like Habit Burger, please let me know. read more

Worst experience ever! Walked in and was overwhelmed with how hot it was it was inside. Manager said AC unit was broken. Asked her to open the doors, so at least there would get some type of air flow coming in. She did! And then a big heavy dude, sweaty and all, came from the kitchen and closed them. Not sure why, to scared to ask. But my biggest complaint is how dirty the dining area was. Sticky and dirty floors. Tables were left dirty from previous guests. One guy (red shirt) just sits behind the register while everyone else is cleaning the kitchen. Clean the dining area bro!! Geez! ** I should've just sat outside.** Fries were soggy too!! I was so excited to see that Habit opened up here in Poway! I love going to the one in mission valley when I go to the malls, but now there's one here :) I ordered a BBQ Bacon Char and a side of tempura green beans. The quality of the food is incredible for being a "burger joint". The patty was grilled to perfection, and they TOAST THE BUN *drool*. Also, the tempura wasn't overwhelmingly oily (sometimes it's a tad oily at the other location). Service was incredibly fast and efficient. My order was ready in less than 5 minutes. Also, while dining in, I was approached by a very sweet employee, Molly. She asked how my meal was, and asked if she could get me anything. That little interaction took this experience to a level of customer service you find in a restaurant where you have a server. So just like the Habit in Carmel Mtn., food is decent but how about cleaning the tables? After I cleaned my own table with a big handful of napkins, I watched every single new customer do the same thing before they sat down. Nobody wants to sit down at a dirty table or eat in a restaurant where everything just gets wiped onto the floor. We ordered a flame burger and fries. The place was somewhat chaotic and uncoordinated. The burgers and fries were done long before they were handed to the customers. They sat out on an open counter and by the time we received ours it was hardly warm. The fries were soft and limp, and not fully cooked; also way over salted - the worst fries we have ever had at a burger joint. We also had to wait a long time. Burger was just okay, and expensive. I don't think there is management at this Habit. This is my second time at this Habit and unless management changes it will be my last. The first experience was good but this one was bad. I ordered two cheeseburgers to go and both were terrible. The buns were funky and hard around the edges. The condiments were terribly applied and it was overly sloppy. The peppercinis at the condiment station were dried out and warm (no juice at all) . The fries and onion rings were OK but they came out 5 minutes ahead of the burgers. Only after I asked if those were mine did a worker cover them with napkins. One of the cooks (maybe she was the manager?) was coughing over the food being cooked. She did have a mask, but another employee walked into the kitchen from somewhere without a mask. Watching how they operated just concerned me about the cleanliness of the workers and the place in general. read more

I never do this but today I felt I must. Went to the Habit grill today and ordered a hamburger medium rare with lettuce, tomato and onion. I received my hamburger well done. When I questioned the person at the counter they said they only make hamburgers well done. Well that's fine, but why didn't you tell me that when I ordered it. I don't know if it's because it's the start of summer and training new hires started this past week or if everyone there was having an off day but WOW. What a disappointment. The family and I love habit. We wanted to try this location and had errands in the area. I think I'm going to stick with the Carmel mountain location which we frequently go to. which if I recall is also owned by the same person. Ordering food took forever. The guy had to put in the order 4 times because he kept doing something and then had to start over. By the third time he got it and I went to pay before I even paid a receipt popped out as if it was paid for. He had to redo our order. Again. We had a few modifications to our meal based on our liking so it's understood that it took a few moments longer. But when it takes over 20 minutes to order food that is just unacceptable. We get our food- some of the changes we requested were not honored so it had to be brought back the little things were picked off but again- were the cooks paying attention to the orders? And then it came to the drinks/condiments... which their tea maker was out. And their ketchup was out as well. It just wasn't their day. I hope people get trained. We are definitely going to be back to habit but it's unlikely it will be this location. read more

They will purposely serve you rotten food if you order through the kiosk just so they can get rid of old inventory, because corporate has made it impossible to get a refund if you order through the kiosks. And even though I bought more food than just the one rotten sandwich that I didn't take more than a bite from before bringing it back, if you try to politely tell the manager about the sickening rotten meat in the soggy concoction that they somehow pass for a sandwich (lol I didn't say it that way during the interaction), they'll act like it's your fault and you're not making sense and everyone will glare at you from behind the counter, including the crappy cooks who know what they made, and they'll pull apart the sandwich in front of you like they don't believe you before rudely telling you about how they won't refund you at the register in the store and try to make you feel stupid. Rosa literally SHOED MY FATHER AWAY from the counter when he said there's no sign that says you can't get refunds for ROTTEN orders, how rude and irritating! They didn't even offer to make us another sandwich or to do anything to make it right! Don't let them make you feel like an idiot for supporting their business. That said, the time I ordered from the habit burger in Mira Mesa was actually good and I ordered the same thing), although, as I already explained why, I would recommend against using the seemingly neat kiosks. The punks in Poway will serve bad food, show you and your family attitude, and try to intimidate you! I think they have "lack of employees" and low leadership expectations. The quality standards are very low. Extra onions on burger - 1 ring total?, extra croutons on salad - total of 2, coffee shake - tasted like vanilla. Either they are being directed to not provide, or they really need to go back to the drawing board at what they are offerring.
